Good Points: Screen is quite good, performance untill freezing.
Bad Points: Overheeting, freezing.
General comments: In 2 years warranty replased 4 motherboards and 1 power control unit. And multiple phone calls to fujitsu siemens. I still wonder how they could sell this crap. My last fujitsu siemens ever.

Many people seem to have had problems with this laptop.
I must have been very lucky compared to some.
There seems to be a real problem with the plastics that fujitsu siemens refuse address - see various forums going back over two years now.

5 motherboards in two years, I found the customer service appalling . I will never ever buy from Fujitsu Siemens again. I have now given up on this computer, total waste of time.

Have had this laptop for almost two and a half years. Four letters on the keypad decided to stop working last month, and now the battery pack is dead. Laptop has been overheating, freezing and crashing for well over a year. An utter waste of £1000. I will NEVER buy from Fujitsu-Siemens again.

The Fujitsu-Siemens D1845 laptop is a waste of money. It is generally OJ if used minimally, but it's not worth working on for more than 2 hours. It overheats, and I have had to have it repaired twice under warranty because of faulty components. It has trouble running the internet and more than two applications at a time.

I am very disappointed with this Fujitsu-Siemens D1845 Laptop. I have owned a Fujitsu-Siemens desktop previously and had no problems at all. So far this laptop has had to be repaired under warranty twice with a replaced parts list as long as my arm which includes two new motherboards. The battery life is poor, it weighs a ton and the overall build quality is very poor. The worst thing about this laptop is the after sales service/repair. Both times that it has been taken away for repair I ha ...

I bought the Fujitsu Siemens D1845 laptop about half a year ago (Medio 2005). At first sight it was a great machine, with a very powerful processor (3.4Ghz P4 Mobile), a nice graphics card (ATI Mobility Radeon 9600/9700 with 128Mb on-board RAM), a large capacity hard drive (see above). It is a wonderful machine for watching DVD's due to its very nice and clear screen. It also has good connectivity due to its built-in wireless internet receiver, and 3 USB 2.0 and 1 Firewire 400 port. It is a grea ...

I bought a D1845 in November 2004, previously owning a Amilo 1830, which is still going strong and has never had a fault. Unfortunately I can't say the same about the D1845. It was delivered with very bad pixel failure on the screen (a number of pixels fail, thus producing noticeable very bright white dots over the screen), the DVD was constantly erratic, sometimes working and sometimes not and, just in time for Christmas, the whole unit finally gave up the ghost and the motherboard blew up.

The Fujitsu-Siemens D1845 is a great laptop for the money, games play well due to the dedicated graphics card. The keyboard does get quite hot but this is due to how the heat is dissipated.
