Tried to send money to my son overseas. The western union rep at the bank left out one letter of his last name. Was called by fraud department stating this would not process and I would have to get a refund and send again. Ok I thought. My ONLINE transaction was accepted and then cancelled by WU. , As an email from Western Union described "for business reason" ... Talking to the Customer service over the phone did not shed any light on as to why the transaction was cancelled by WU.. We've been successfully using WU for more than 5 years. Maybe issues come around because consumers tend to be lax in providing important details when making a transaction or gets too naive and arrogant whenever a customer service representative instructs them how to do things right. Respect is a virtue, observe it at all times. Even with the transaction number their staff is useless and unhelpful. Like a robot I was told, something doesnt match, so I asked name address.? Their response, we cant tell you. Thats it. I have a business in Romania but maintain USA bank account for the business. Routinely money is sent via WU to meet payroll and operating expenses. WU always seems to block the transactions when the funds crucial to company cash flow. And of course the mental midgets at customer service or resolution can never seem to get their collectives asses to understand anything. Hikmet you should be ashamed of your entire operation. In the past, family members have used WU quite easily by going to a live agent. This time they had an issue going in person and asked me to do it for them so I did it online using WU Pay. Sent money through Australia post outlet in Melbourne. Got a receipt and signed form. I have been doing the same thing for the last 3 years. I had been sending money to a federal inmate in california. well every time I would send money online for faster service I would have to call in to continue the approval process. the reason every rep would give me would be the same...some with the same name is denied to send money. I have been using Western Union for a while. When it comes to Value for Money, it is great, better than Xoom. But, when it comes to service, it is slow. Also, I face difficulty in tracking the order. Most frequently, I face difficulty using online account and whenever I call the customer care for help, they do not find proper solution. Sent money online because they advertised for $45 dollars your money will reach the reciever in minutes. Well after spending the $45 I was told that NOOOOO the money will take 2hours to be released. was given a coupon to compensate an error they previously did, I take the code and use it with an agent, the transaction kept pending and didn't go through, while the money was already taken from my account. The new website is literally unusable. Constant errors and links that don't work. Cancelled transfers that go through and you can't get your money back. No help from customer service. I used Western union for years and the old site was reliable and easy to use and I never had a problem. Since it was changed I find it literally impossible to send money to an inmate. I've tried at least 3 places to receive money still hasn't gotten it! Two places I found on their website. I place has no western union service at all, the other can't receive money. The other place has the service but not showing on the website. The problem is they don't receive money more than $300!!! They charge 4x more expensive on service and make it so hard to get money!!! It's not guaranteed if you're wiring money to Germany to buy a car. No legit car sales take western union, they accept bank wires to a business or corporate account. So WU saved you from yourself.

I created an account on Wester Union web site and have tried to send $100 several times over a week period. All it does it give errors with no help as to why they occur, nothing in their FAQ. Terrible web site and terrible service. Most common error is "This money transfer was not approved. If you were charged for this money transfer, you will be automatically refunded". $100 ? Western Union's webpage titled "Receive Money" states that a receiver needs government-issued ID and the MTCN (tracking) number to pick up money. Nothing else. This is NOT TRUE in certain countries but they don't tell you this. I sent some money to a friend in India and he was unable to pick up the money using his passport and the MTCN number. Please never use western union. my ex-inlaws, who are elderly lost $2600.00. They pray on the elderly and western union does not care. In fact I have been told by their hotline that they did not care. They pretended to be my son, their grandson and stated he was in jail and needed money. Obviously, not clearly thinking they sent the money. I find it very hard to understand that such a large organization let's this happen without caring. I have taken them to file a police report and have reported this to the attorney generals office. Maybe this money will never be returned but I hope to make enough people aware of western unions unethical practices.

Not only is the cost very high for Western Union services, the service is terrible. When the mistake is theirs, they will not refund or correct the transfer. 5 day? thats nothing, iv been trying to find money i sent through direct to bank since dec only to be told it has been deposited into the recievers account but it wasent and still has not been put in, we now know it was put into the wrong account cos the bank account number that i supplied when doing it back in dec is not the one they put the money into, i still havent had it resolved
