Great quality photos in good light, or short range indoor photos with the flash.
But, poorer quality photos when outside in lower light (even using the features to compensate for this).
Most frustrating is the inability to take good sports photos because of the delay between button press and photo capture.
Lots of good features.
Easy to transfer to pc with a usb cable.
Decent software bundle.
First malfunction came after 3 years - The flash has stopped responding - No idea how to get it fixed, but sounds like Nikon would charge far too much.

I have had my Nikon Coolpix 775 digital camera for 2 years. It has never let me down, locked up, or shown an error message. I use it in my work as an Accident Scene Investigator. I do not like the very slow reaction time, especially at low light levels, and the battery save feature. The camera is always "OFF" when I want to take the next shot.
However, well worth the money (I paid 386 GBP)

I bought it in the USA 20 months ago and have taken over 5,000 pictures with. Invested in a 128Mb card though to keep resolution good for A4 prints. Generally happy with it but colours are not as good as other cameras and the lighting is terrible.
My next buy will be a Canon for sure!

The Nikon Coolpix 775 is a nice camera for its price, I took about 3000 pictures with it, and I am still satisfied. It is small and quite robust for its plastic cover, although it fall out of my hands for a few times, it never failed its function.
The pictures itsself are very sharp, but the color balance fails now and then, especially with flashless indoor shooting (you have to adjust it yourself). Therefore for the outdoor shooting it is perfect. The indoor movie is completely not possible, as the it needs much light to operate. Next to that is the lack of sound, which makes the movies a little useless.
Handling the camera is very easy and is accepted in every operating system featuring USB. Comparing it with other Nikon digital cameras, it has the same features for a small price. Big disadvantage is its speed: it takes up to 1 second before reacting on your fingers command. So no sporty pictures.
After a year I'm happy with the camera, but desire a little less reaction time and a better movie. For people using it as a replacement of their normal camera, i.e. making pictures in daylight and with flashlight at night, this is the camera you need.
