General comments: Ten days ago, we went into Furniture Village's Exeter showroom to have a look at their sofas. We really liked the Zante and decided to go for 2 two-seater sofas. Two salesmen in particular were each very helpful. But neither of them was hassling us to make a decision and gave us exactly the right amount of attention, without being over the top. We couldn't decide on sofas for our front room, but as we were heading for the exit we came across the Shalimar - and fell in love with it. We decided to sleep on our decision and came back the following morning. Safe attentive help from one of the salesmen, but again nothing to feel we were being pressured into buying. Though by now we had made up our mind that we would be buying the two Zantes and we loved the Shalimars too, but couldn't decide if the 3-seater was just a bit too big for our lounge. We plumped for two 2-seater Shalimars and then went to the salesman to order. All very painless, put down a 25 per cent deposit on our credit card. And told we should have the Zante within the next couple of weeks. Well, 9 days later, the two Zante sofas are now installed in our back living room. And look fab and very comfortable to sit on. The two guys who came to deliver were both so professional and courteous. They unpacked each sofa in turn and put on the legs for each and then left us to enjoy sitting on them! And they do look fantastic! We are so pleased. I called the Poole store (which arranged delivery) and the Exter store where we ordered, to say thankyou. We're just waiting for our two Shalimar sofas to arrive now, which hopefully will be within the next 4 weeks. We'll keep you posted.newshound

Furniture Village - Its taken over 10 months and we still haven't received the goods we paid for and it is looking like it will take another 3 months!
I decided to use some money given to me on my wedding day to buy our first dining room table and chairs. We eventually found what we wanted and paid in January 2008. At the time we were told 7-8 weeks for delivery. The first table exploded as the wood had apparently not been treated properly, the legs on the second broke, the third was too small ...

We had been looking for months for comfortable leather based furniture. Walking into Furniture village we were impressed with the range and layout of the store. We purchased the 'Shalimar' 3 seater settee, 'snuggler' and a chair. The chair isn't common and had to be specially ordered which concerned me a lot. My dining room suite from Furniture Village was delivered from the manufacturer in Ireland. Yes there was a mix up with the delivery date but this was dealt with efficiently by store staff.
The delivery team were very careful, put everything together and positioned it where I wanted it.
Very pleased with my purchase and the Manchester store service - Thanks.

Having purchased £2000 of goods I expected at least good customer service.
Delivery of first item was relayed to us on day of delivery, not day prior as arranged due to business commitments, giving us 30 minutes to reach house as we were not living there at the time which the store was aware of. Delivery man seemed rude and indifferent to us as we tried to reach mutual agreement, stating that his delivery slot was immoveable and basically tough!
Cancelled this order.

In September 2007, from Furniture Village, I bought a bedstead and matress, sofa chair and foot stool, table and chairs with seat pads (not faulty), TV hi fi stand, coffee table, lamp table and delivery totalling £5264.00. As my house had no furniture I collected the suite and matress myself in a van. The other items had to come from the manufacturer and would be with me in 11 weeks. No one called me back whilst I was trying to chase my order. Very poor customer service. Still waiting for delivery of items ordered on 6th May (now 17th June) and no idea when they are likely to arrive.
Would not buy from them again.

Alexis red leather sofas deal - excellent quality, delivery service and non-pushiny sales personnell. The sofas are very stylish, comfortable. Protect from hot direct sunlight.
Nothing but praise and a bargain deal. Would definitely shop there again -Lakeside, Thurrock branch. Heaps ahead of IKEA etc.

Well what can I say, I would not recommended this store to anyone. I first ordered my sofa 9 months ago only to be told 3 months after ordering it that had been discontinued (but they still had my deposit for my order). The salesman offered me a very good deal and added a free coffee table to a sofa I liked. The manager assured me it would arrive in 20 weeks MAXIMUM, it has now been 14 weeks no phone call.

I am still waiting for my items mentioned above. Placed an order in mid May 2007. Paid the deposit, and was promised delivery in 7 weeks time. They did not have the courtesy to ring me that this has been delayed for a further 5 weeks. I was a bit wary as I hadn't seen the sofa other than in a catalogue. Phoned up and they sent me a swatch of the leather the next day. Ordered the sofa and it was delivered approximately 2 weeks later.

I was impressed by the nice big Furniture Village shops and advertising, and coffee and biscuits, but I would not use them again, as I have been waiting since the beginning of March. It is now the end of June, and I still have no final delivery date. Still sitting on garden chairs in my newly decorated room.

I have a 2 seater sofa that has developed a fault on the fabric. The seater is around 27 months old. I contacted them and reported the problem. I had an immediate response, and a representative looked at the fault within 4 days, and the company have agreed to replace the faulty section. No arguments and no fault blaming. What a company! I will always buy my furniture from Furniture Village.

The corner unit was delivered 3.5 months after ordering from Furniture Village, although we were told a maximum of 9 weeks. It came with a large hole in the front, and the scatter cushions were the wrong colour. The delivery men were fine, and said it would most probably be replaced, so we were hopeful. After talking to the sales women, I had to take a morning off work for a guy to come and take photos of the hole; after which we heard that Furniture Village would not order a complete new unit, ...

I recently made an order online with them for two leather sofas. Our order was completed with interest free credit and delivered in under two weeks.
One of the sofas proved a little large to fit through a door frame, the delivery men from Furniture Village unscrewed the arms, placed it where we wanted it, fixed it back together and unpacked it quickly and with a smile.
I would certainly use them again.

When buying furniture for my new home, I placed an order with Furniture Village for sofa's, coffee tables, side tables and dining tables. DFS had some good sofa's but their delivery time was 2 weeks longer than a similar one I found in Furniture Village, and so I decided to order it from Furniture Village, even though it was a shade more expensive.
