“Good experience ”

Written on: 10/12/2014

Good experience overall with sales staff very knowledgeable which helped me to choose my sofa. The delivery service excellent, was told by the salesman the delivery date would be around 26 December so to expect delivery in the new year, no problem that was fine. Then on the 5 December received a phone call my sofa was ready for dispatch. My sofa was delivered today the 10 December 2014. The delivery guys were wonderful covering my carpet and masking the doorway. Very happy and comfortable… Read Full Review

“Good for lies and wating your time. Don't go there!”

On 30 Aug 2014 we ordered Corner sofa, St. Moritz dressing table and an Elixir Str unit from the Bristol branch. Value £4748. Deposit paid £748. 19 Nov warehouse called to say that they would all be delivered on Saturday 22nd Nov. Warehouse phoned Saturday morning to say that they could not deliver today as the lorry had broken down. Delivery would now be Sunday. From 11:00 until 15:00 we called the warehouse distribution 15 times to find out where the delivery was. No calls answered! I… Read Full Review

“Waste of money ”

Written on: 14/11/2014 by TessaHay218 (1 review written)

After 13 years we bought a new 3 piece suite from Furniture Village, by no means a cheap suite, delivered Mid January 2014 as 8 weeks. After 9 months it has already started to wear with pulled threads and had a Technician to examine the suite - faulty batch of material so the seat covers will be replaced but as the whole batch was faulty we feel they should replace everything but have been told No as its the "natural characteristic" of the upholstery to have "natural pile crushing". After 9… Read Full Review

“Ripped Off”

Written on: 30/10/2014

We paid £40 for them to deliver our sofas. The guys turned up had a look and decided that the sofas would not fit through the door. My husband offered to remove the front door so that they could get it in. The didn't measure anything just looked and decided even without the door it still wouldn't go through because of the radiator . We trusted their judgement and the sofas were returned to store. We were told that a specialist was needed to dismantle the sofa to get it in. After two weeks of… Read Full Review

When I call them for an answer they say they will call back but they never do. I spend my life chasing them for a refund they have agreed to and this is only due to their mattresses having an issue. Poor customer service. Only good thing was the delivery men that work for them. Other than that....can't get a call back even when they promise to call us back… Read Full Review

“Incompetent ”

Written on: 05/09/2014 by Kieranw354 (1 review written)

I ordered a bed making it abundantly clear that quick delivery was the main priority as I had just moved into an unfurnished house, therefore sleeping on the floor until the bed arrived. The salesman made a phone call and promised a delivery time of around 3 weeks which was not ideal but acceptable. After numerous phone calls in which callbacks are promised but not delivered they have now informed me the "delivery" has been pushed back again, this will now be a month after the original… Read Full Review

“Very disappointed”

Written on: 21/08/2014 by Scammed1 (2 reviews written)

Leather lounge suite cost almost £1700 when bought. Back on one seat has now perished and become a hole. When I contacted Furniture Village was told it was one week over Warranty so nothing could be done. When I expressed my disappointment was told warranty would only have covered structural damage anyway, so it wouldn't have made any difference… Read Full Review

Furniture Village couldn't be any more disappointing. I ordered a wardrobe in June and was told 6 weeks for delivery. In the 7th week after hearing nothing I contacted them and they said they will get back to me. 3days later they call to say that it will be another 2weeks. So I took a day off work on the delivery day, the delivery arrives nice and early but the wrong parts have been supplied. The workmen then tell me it will take another 3weeks for the correct parts to arrive! I called the… Read Full Review

Ordered a corner sofa (which comes in 3 sections). Waited for 10 weeks; when it arrived 2 pieces were in cream but 1 was in 'purple'....Was promised that within 4 weeks the supplier would rectify and manufacture the missing cream section. On the fourth week...no communication... no sofa...after cancelling the order. Received written communication that they found the missing piece in some other warehouse.... beyond belief... This is what we call "adding insult to injury"!… Read Full Review

“Much better deal when you buy online - Be Aware”

Written on: 10/07/2014 by thameside12 (1 review written)

Please be aware before you purchase from Furniture Village in general and from in store in particular. If you buy in store you have to pay 30% deposit and if you have to cancel for any reason from about 2/3 after ordering you will lose your deposit. Fair enough you might say, but if you buy the very same items from them on line, you can cancel at anytime before it is delivered and up to a week after delivery and still get a full refund of any money paid. So please go to the store and browse… Read Full Review

“So far .... So good!”

Written on: 24/06/2014 by MichelleGilder (1 review written)

I have just ordered a sofa after seeing it in the store, with excellent help from Bash in High Wycombe both in store and by phone, and looking through these reviews. My main reason for overlooking most of the rants on these reviews is simply, look at the PRICE!! I have paid around £1400 for a stunning sofa, in faux leather which I hope will last. Maybe it won't, but if you want top quality you should expect to pay top price. You get what you pay for. I hesitated before reading the reviews… Read Full Review

I think you will more than likely want to change those 5 stars if it develops a fault.

You will be advised its normal wear and tear, or settlement. Whatever the issue there won't be a fault on Furniture Village's part. Good luck - you will need it if you need to make a claim.

“Zero Customer Service”

Written on: 24/06/2014 by Kian123 (1 review written)

I bought two leather sofas from them 4 yrs ago. The colour is literally wiping off with a damp cloth, particularly on the smaller sofa which is rarely used. This has been going on now for over a year. They dont want to know. They say "we dont believe theres a problem" when asked how they can say that without looking at the sofas they say "we dont have to, after six months the onus is on you" So what do they expect me to do, carry it back to the showroom? This company is appalling dont… Read Full Review

Hi, Can I ask what suite you have? We have the dante and are having the same problem with ours that the colour is literally coming off. Technition told us that they have not been "finished" correctly with a top protective layer and this is why it is happening. Surprise surprise 3 weeks since fv are avoiding me as are apparently "investigating possible pet damage". This is rubiish, we have had our dog from puppy for 11 months and this issue/debate has gone on for 3 years. Feel like they are hiding something, absolute bad company. I will not be letting this lie. Would never recommend this company, in fact I would slate them at every possible!!!

Hi

I have had the same problem. FV have said they would get an independent technician but it would cost me £60. Don't want to use one recommended by them. Where did you get your technician from. I am certainly not letting this lie and intend to take legal action if necessary.

Yes don't hesitate, please avoid Furniture Village at all costs. I know you think it won't happen to you, but it will be you and it will drive you insane as they will not want to help you. Sorry you had to go through this.

You might wish to try John Lewis online? They are open to discussion about the quality of products and you can return many items to them that are not classed as specially made if you are not satisfied. I don't work for John Lewis but feel they are a listening company and if you approach them beforehand to make certain of your online rights on any given product, they will honour it. Best of all they give you a refund of any price drop difference within a certain period.

“What a mess do not order from these people ”

Written on: 17/06/2014 by Ryleee1978 (1 review written)

These people are confused. Sold me leather sofa that is not leather. Now two years on they won't replace it because the leather is not covered by the five year guarantee.... Really. Then they said I was getting aggressive and didn't want to talk. I'm speaking with my wallet, won't be spending any money there again. Aftercare is useless and a waste of my time… Read Full Review

Couldn't agree more Aftercare is a joke! Writing from my recent experience dealing with them as a customer:

Technical reports are engineered not to find faults.

They don't supply copies of technician reports when you have a fault. Everything comes back as settlement and is not covered.

In the rare case in which they offer an alternative product they will offer something totally unsuitable. That way when you refuse the interest free credit company send you emails to say you are not co-operating.

They are dishonest in telephone calls and in person. They will say anything to get you into the showroom again when you have a problem. They want you to get angry and walkout so you won't have a leg to stand on.

They insist you use someone recommended by them for a 2nd report on furniture and you get their permission first they will accept the report. Trading Standards say this is not the case and you can use any independent furniture inspector.

They can't supply you with a copy of their Customer Service policy.

To top it all off they leave messages on here like they care that something has gone wrong. They don't care - its a sham and deception.

Bought a set of Leather sofas from FV last year had it for about 10months. Within a month of receiving it the stitching on back of sofa was coming undone someone was sent round to repair it. Same thing has happened again but this time tH claim is due to the way I sit on it so it's not covered under the guarantee. Rubbish after care service will never buy anything from this company again… Read Full Review
