Good Points: The best 2.1 speaker set around. They look stunning. They give the best audio. crisp and clear with no background hiss at all. Good volume range the bass can be subtle or in your face, you decide. Easy to install. Easy to use, use with any sound system.

Bad Points: Blue glow of sub not suitable for bedroom but you can turn off at the mains if this bothers you that much. Instructions don't tell you where the controls are but you'll be pleased that they aren't obvious as it would compromise the look of the product.

General comments: I have always thought 2.1 speakers were made for people who want to have bass that reduces house to rubble and causes bowel movements by causing your body to resonate, the sort of bass that makes "hardcore trance anthoms 1500" mildly interesting, but when manufacturers make speakers that can play the subtleties of massive attack, radiohead, coldplay and classical music with such accuracy balance with just the right amount of bass, these manufacturers, nay, artists, have produced a set of speakers that can do anything, for you "music fans" who like to blow there brains out with god-awful "trance" go ahead, buy them, but you'll never appreciate the shear power of these speakers. For years i have used some philips 2.1 system that was alright but when you cranked it up the bass would immediately give you hassle with distortion and a god-awful background hiss. These give no background hiss, not even when unplugged from a sound source there is no crackle or hum or hiss. They just look fantastic and go with the furniture in any modern household. I cannot emphasise enough how fantastically perfect the sound is out of these things, i may not have had a B&O history but these are simply out of this world.

I had a 4.1 surround but these Harman speakers knock the spots off them. I can't believe the sound from these little speakers, they are outstanding.
Just read the manual and you can have two sets of these working at once or they might even work with the speakers you already have on your PC (depending on your soundcard). I keep turning these up and you don't lose any sound quality at all. My son just plugged his MP3 player into them and it worked perfect. So overall I recommend to anyone to buy ...

You probably wouldn't want to, but you can happily play them at full volume without any noticeable distortion.
If you want a better sound than this system gives you would have to buy a decent amp and bookshelf combination, which would certainly cost a lot more than the Soundsticks do. I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend them to anybody who's looking for a decent sound. Great for using with my PC & also with my Rio Karma.

I've been into hi-fi for more years than I care to remember, and the only way to see how good a speaker is, is to listen to it!
I never get tired of listening to the Harman Multimedia Soundsticks II speakers. The highs are crystal clear, the mids are spectacular and the bass, when set correctly, is very good too. Not only do these speakers look good, they are. Take a look at photos of them, they're gorgeous, and wait until you hear them. One possible niggle is that they could do with a bit more ...

The Harman Multimedia Soundsticks II speakers were not designed for the hard core music afficionado, but to be fair, most of us cannot tell the difference between an acceptable good speaker and the top of the range. What these speakers do is to look spectacular and to really make a difference to a desk. There are many speakers out there that are simple gray boxes with no character or charm and if you want something different with an acceptably good sound they're the way to go.

I bought the Harman Multimedia Soundsticks II computer speakers yesterday. I'm on holiday in Florida, and I saw them in the Costco supermarket for only $100.

I particularly wanted speakers with a sub woofer, as I like trance and dub, bassy music. I set them up on a carpeted floor and plugged in my M.D. player. They sounded good at first, but I noticed a vibrating sound from the sub woofer. I had them on full volume. There is no indication of what volume setting you are on; it just has plus a ...

The Harman Multimedia Soundsticks II are the kind of speakers that gets lots of comments when people walk into your room. It is very unusual, especially the subwoofer which emits a blue light ... leading friends to term it 'alien speakers' or 'jellyfish speakers'. But it's not just looks, as the speakers do sound good, and there's enough bass to go with it. A nice compliment for any computer, but especially so for Apple machines.
