“Will not pay our money - any excuse to delay payment”

This company is appalling, not only has our endowment policy not performed in any way as well as our other endowments with other companies, but now it appears that after paying this policy for 25 years and them taking the money from our bank for 25 years, that their rep originally spelt our name wrong. Now the policy has matured, they won't pay us. On request we sent them a notorised copy of our passports by a solicior we've been dealing with for 15 years, only to be told that the solicitor... Dreadful company! Still waiting for my money that should have been paid out and in my account last week. Very quick at taking money ! Awful anyone think about putting money into this company think twice and seek advise. (read more)

On point of transferring monies into the open market option. Reams of paperwork, some duplicated. Within 3 weeks of notification of fund value it has taken a £3000 drop, goodness knows how much more i will loose before transfer is finished.

I have had a fund since 1985 worth £125,000. I accepted the £4000 penalty for retiring early but wanted the pension to start in early July just after my birthday. By the time I received my 25% tax free on September 14th the fund had dropped in value to £114,000!
Letter1. " Please confirm your date of birth" written 7/8th August received by me on my return from holiday 17th August.

Abbey Life Insurance are very slow in processing the pension and can't give answers to questions like when they are going to pay out. When the pension date is passed and they take time processing the account they don't pay interest on your money. The person I spoke to was very arrogant and unhelpful. (read more)
