The safari park - It cost £93 for two adult and a child. then £5 for a guide book. The actual safari was good but could of been a few more animals, here were no giraffes, half the animals were inside. The café and the eateries were mega expensive, 2 hot chocs and a coffee £7.80 absoloute joke to find only half a take away cup full. £7 for a jacket potato. Unbelievable prices. There is no where really to go and sit if the weather is poor like it was other than the café. The prices in... (read more)

They was a range of animals but only a few of each! Its nothing like the TV program. They advertise gorillas but they don't say that you have to queue 2 hours plus to get on a boat to see them! There was one elephant which was very disappointing. Too expensive for what was there! :( (read more)

Went earlier in the year. The safari park is amazing - all the big animals you'd expect in loads of space to roam free - Giraffes, lions, tigers, cheetah, rhino and Anne the Elephant. The Adventure Park was cool too. I especially liked the Jungle Kingdom. You could walk through with lemmas zipping around your feet - fab fun. Finally the Hunters of the Sky show was brilliant. I'd recommend this to any one with a family. Loads to do can really pack in a day of different attractions. (read more)

I've never been to a safari park before, just to zoos where the animals are caged in and constantly look depressed! I have to say, this was a refreshing change, it was great seeing the animals with enough space to roam, the only complaint i have is that monkeys ate my antenna! (read more)

Have an annual pass which allows to to go anywhere anytime as often as you like. I don't like the idea of people who buy a day pass being restricted to only 1 entry per attraction. A pass should mean a pass. With reference to the previous review of the pacing wolf, I have just last week visited Longleat and the wolf is still pacing the fence, up and back. I watched this poor creature and it turned at exactly the same spot on the fence every time. Anne the elephant was nowhere to be seen. Her... (read more)

This was our first visit to Longleat and it didn't live up to my expectations. The safari was very good but it did not bode well to see a wolf continously walking back and forth against a wire fence for the quarter of an hour we watched it for - not natural behaviour at all. It is also looked to have mange on its back. We found some staff to very unfriendly and unmannerly, particularly some of the rangers/keepers around the safari. We were astonished to find a dead fish floating on the... (read more)

Sometimes fish and ducks die.. that's life. If you spend your life seeking out the negatives your the kind of person who wont ever enjoy a good day out. I'm also not suprised you found the staff unfriendly if you were moaning about a dead goldfish and smashed windows whilst they are trying to maintain the park and animals... I bet the long winter evenings fly by in your house.... Longleat Rocks!

It was lovely to see the animals roaming free in an close to natural environment. I personally was more interested in the safari park than the house but that was just personal preference. The grounds were massive and lovely. The cellars cafe offered variety, and the gift shops were fairly reasonable.I can see why they would only allow one turn at each attraction (although I would have liked to do some twice) because on busy days it would make sure everyone has access to all the areas. We had Tesco vouchers so it made the day much better value than the £28 each asking price. Managed to fit quite a lot in to one day and there was a ton of things to do - helpfully the entrance ticket includes a list of activities which get marked as you do them so you always know what's left. The maze is fantastic although if you go left at every turn you'll get out really quickly!
Sadly the safari park was a little spoiled by the closure of the monkey area, but this was on the website...

Great value for money! £24 to get into everything. However you are only allowed into places once which i think would be better if you could visit at least twice. Not that you need to, it took us a full day just to go round safari, safari boat, animal adventure, maze, gardens etc. didnt manage to get in the house which i would have liked to but it really does fill the day! i think i will go next year sometime hopefully the monkey enclosure will be open then as it wasn't now which was slightly... it was a nice place to visit and took up the day , the staff were very unfriendly though which has put me off on going back i have been around 7/8 times and loved it when it was open in the 80's but it has now been ruined by the extreme price of food drink car park and thats all before you get to the admission ! 30 quid? i would of prefered to know how busy it was going to be due to the fact we waited over an hour just to go through the safari trail , and we couldnt even access the actual... To be fair there is a huge warning outside the monkey enclosure saying that the monkeys may cause damage to the cars, you kind go in at your own risk.

Absolutely fantastic place. We have visited twice now and will be returning annualy due to us having such a fab time. I just can't say enough about the place, which is great for all ages. We were a party of 5 adults and 1 4year old. 2 40 something's, 2 grandparents and 1 21yr old. Great value for money and fantastic food if you want to eat in restaurants, if not their are great picnic areas too. Longleat house is extremely interesting. Passport ticket is great idea, we spread visit... (read more)

A fantastic day out! Its a bit different from how you see things on the BBC but still a brilliant chance to see animals roaming around free. We went around the safari whilst it was raining but we were not disappointed the animals were out and about and we didn't miss a thing! Lots too do and see great value for money! (read more)

When I went with my family to Longleat Safari Park I had the best time ever, there was so much to do, all fun and at a good price, large parts of the house was open and the safari park was great! It was good to see the animals roaming free, that's how it should be. (read more)

Longleat House has a fascinating history and the staff there are knowledgeable and friendly. In fact we enjoyed this (and the maze) more than the drive around Safari Park! The boat trip with sealion feeding is great. The Safari Park looks a little tired and animals not exactly diverse. Whipsnade offers a better deal. (read more)

This was a fantastic day out! We went last year and will go again next year. The Safari Park is great! It is nice to see all the animals roaming around in relative freedom, while us humans are caged up instead! Longleat Safari Park can take up most of the day, so if you live or are staying not too far away from Longleat, you have the option to return to see the other attractions at your leisure, as many times as it takes to get through it all! We live relatively close in Devon, and it took... (read more)

Although my trip to Longleat Safari Park turned out to be on the expensive side compared to other attractions around the country. You won't begrudge them one penny, when you see how well looked after the animals are, and the beautiful environment in which they roam in. (read more)

Longleat Safari Park - Decided to visit after reading brochure. This says with a passport ticket you can come back anytime during the season. What it didn't make very clear was that you could only visit each attraction once.
* Safari park was so so with many of the Animals pensioners.
* Only a small part of the house was open.
All in all a rip off - would never return

If thats all you were interested in at the safari park/house then you went to the wrong place! My 3 year old daughter loved it and still talks about it 5 months on (who said children at that age dont remember things), The house even fascinated her, we ended up staying at the Baths Arms and returning the next day as we hadn't visited the Butterfly House again amazing and the smaller animals. I as a child was taken to Woburn Safari park and was relieved there was as such a brilliant place nearer by now I live in Cornwall. All I can say is...There is plenty of food choices so open your eyes and chose a place which is better suited at Longleat not just the first restaurant you hit probably just after leaving the house! Fantastic place and have recommended it already...including my daughter!!
