“Fantastic day out!”

★★★★★

written by on 20/10/2013

My mum and I went for my birthday and had the best day. It was horrible weather but the staff were super friendly and helpful. Staff really went out of their way to make it a special day, thoroughly impressed! Also, must say the staff  in the entrance shops for being an absolute star!

Thought the zoo was a bit limited and didn't go into the rides area but the safari was absolutely superb and made the day a real success. Might be best to go around before and after the zoo area, we just went around at the end. Not too much traffic and you could stop without affecting others or overtake if you wanted to go faster. Definitely buy the food at the entrance as you can feed the deer type creatures. Lots of animals in decent sized plots. Our children feed the small deers, then three large deers the size of horses put their head in my daughters window who was trying to feed just one of them and gave her a fright but they were harmless. A cheetah starting running alongside the road and I kept pace with it at around 25mph - priceless.

WE WENT TODAY AUGUST THE 2ND,WHAT A GREAT PLACE,WE CHANGED £10 WORTH OF TESCO VOUCHERS,SO THATS ALL IT COST US TO GET IN,WE DID BUY FOOD FOR £3.WHICH WE REALLY ENJOYED FEEDING THE ANIMALS,MY DAUGHTER LOVED IT.WE ARRIVED AT TEN,IT WAS BUSY BUT NOT TO BAD.IT WAS JUST BRILLIANT,THE BEST DAY OUT WE HAVE HAD AS A FAMILY AND OUR FAUGHTER IS EIGHT THE NEXT DAY,WE THEN WENT TO THE PARK PART,WE BOUGHT A WRISTBAND FOR OUR DAUGHTER,WE WERE JUST HAPPY TO WATCH HER,SHE WENT ON LOADS,IT CAN BE PRICEY IFF YOU GOT 2 OR 3 KIDS BUT WE JUST GOT ONE,SHE GOT TO GO ON LOADS OF RIDES AND SOMETIMES SHE STAYED ON AND WENT ROUND AGAIN.THE ATTRACTIONS IN THE PARK WAS GOOD TO,THE SEA LION SHOW WAS GOOD AND THE BAT ENCLOSURE WAS SCARY.IFF YOU DIDNT WANT THE RIDES IT IS VERY REASONABLE,ESPECIALLY WITH A FREE RETURN VISIT,WHO GIVES YOU THAT THESE DAYS,THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS THE GIFT SHOP,THE PRICES WERE SO HIGH WHICH SPOILS THE END OF THE DAY A LITTLE,OTHERWISE 10 OUT OF 10

West Midlands Safari park - amazing - loved it so much that i went round for five hours on first visit and and three hours on second return visit. Important to get there for 10am otherwise long queues. As long as you keep receipt you can return to safari park as many times as you like in one day. We went at 10am and again and 4.30 pm. and 7 pm. The animals were all very active at 7 p.m. how many places can you visit where you get a free return ticket! I intend to return again in a month's time. Amazing animals, friendly helpful staff and excellent value for money. Did not go into rides section so cannot comment on these.

Visited WMSP with my two children aged 7 and 9 and they LOVED it, the wristband was a great help and they certainly got their monies worth! there wasnt a ride that they were unable to go on. Went around the safari trail twice, when we arrived at the park (at approx 10.30am)we could see that the safari trail was very busy so parked the car and headed for the rides first, "NO" queing at all!!! they went on all the rides twice, we then had a picnic near our car and went around the safari trail (at approx 2.45) the trail was much quieter in the afternoon so we went around twice, park doesnt close until 9pm throughout Aug so we went back to the rides where my wife and myself sat down and relaxed and watched our two boys run around and jump on all the rides at their will. Strongly recommend that if you have children of a similair age plan your visit the same way!!! Excellent day out!! much better value than Longleat!! and better day out.:)

“It was going to be either Longleat or West Midlands...”

★★★★★

written by on 12/08/2008

It was going to be either Longleat or West Midlands Safari Park. And I am glad we came here, the kids loved the animals and feeding them. The camels were great to feed and touch. The sea lion show was great as well, kids thought it was great and loved standing by the glass when they swam passed. The goats were brilliant, the fact that you could walk round with them. My only moan is the ride price for the bands - it's the same price for everyone from babies to adults. But I did like the fact you could walk round the ride area with out having to pay like most places. Also I thought the food was great value. Burger meal deal 4.90. Compared to Lego land 6.70 for burger an chips with no drink. And the shops were great value as well, not over priced like everywhere else.

The fact that you could come back again in the same car free of charge in the same year was brilliant, we returned the next day just to drive round the animals again. Can't wait to go again. Were planning it for 2 months time. And we live over 3 hrs away thats how good we all thought it was.

My son of one and daughter of three loved it at the West Midlands safari park! The animals were fantastic! They have kennels for the dogs too. Lots of attractions and places to eat after the safari park drive! Lots of different animals which don't attack the car, unlike the monkeys at Longleat. Better than Longleat!!

We had a fantastic day out! There was lots to do and lots to see! What more do you want? It is also great value for money too. We travel there from South Wales, and we have visited the park about 10 times in the last three years! We enjoy it every time! And rain or shine, we always have fun!

“I went to West Midlands Safari Park with my cousin,...”

★★★★★

written by cathyjones on 06/09/2005

I went to West Midlands Safari Park with my cousin, friend and my sister, ages range from 16-22! we really enjoyed ourselves as always, the animals look happy and healthy but sometimes you do see signs of stress when there are noisy people about, but if you spot a keeper and report this they sort out the culprits straight away, as they keepers understand without healthy happy animals they will not have a buisness. The white animals are fascinating but they are a mutation and not a seperate species, this is sometimes not as clear as it should be and they won't be alive in the wild as they have no natural camoflage but its still very interesting. the animals are kept in a good enviroment, an enjoyable part is the deer walk at the back of the funfair as you can get up close and personal with Bambi, the goats can sometimes be a little bouncy and may cause young children to fall over. The theme park is not massive but there is enough to go on and it helps wear you out.
All in all a great day out, I'm using my free return pass this week.

written by Hammond on 04/06/2005

We had a lovely day at West Midlands Safari Park. Two families with 2 children each, aged 7 & 8. There is a safari, small zoo type area (which also has talks and demonstrations) and a small theme park(geared for children rather than adults). We opted to go on the parks safari bus, which although it cost more was well worth it, as you came off the road and got really close to the animals. Lovely happy staff, all around the park. We enjoyed all of the attractions, but our children enjoyed the theme park side, best. For this there was an additional charge, but was optional and could go on rides as many times as they wished. Food prices- reasonable. Toilets clean. A lovely day out for all the family. Ticket included a free return ticket and although we live 4 hours away, we will return.

“The animals at West Midlands Safari Park looked...”

★★★★★

written by andi on 26/05/2005

The animals at West Midlands Safari Park looked healthy and happy, there were lots of baby animals. The safari part of the park was well organised. The packs of food at £2 seemed expensive but feeding the less dangerous animals was a real hoot. The theme park pat was of little interest to us as we have a 1 year old child but it was not included in admission which suited us. There is a 'zoo' type area where the smaller animals are housed - all the animals looked happy and well cared for.
We had an excellent day and will be using our free return pass shortly.
