Dublin Zoo is situated in the Phoenix Park this lush green zoological park has lot to see and do with the family. The visitors can enjoy enjoy train ride and picnic while exploring wild creatures. For children there are animal -petting corners as well. (read more)

Get there early (opens at 10:30) as most of the animals are most active then. Start with the wild animals (go left) and finish up with the animal farm (3 Lab dogs there are a hit with kids). (read more)

The zoo is well laid out and compact so you don't get tired half way round. You can download a map from their excellent website. Compared to Chester Zoo it is far easier to get round - not as big but just as interesting - and cheaper too. I would say that it's better for children - Chester is just too big and they could get bored. Unlike Chester Zoo no one pesters you to sponsor an elephant! And unlike London Zoo it doesn't smell! Child friendly, lovely zoo! Here you can see a wide variety of animals including snow leopards, jaguars, hippos, penguins, giraffe, zebra, otters, flamingos, elephants and much more. Since I have only been there along time ago I can only remember those! (read more)
