    I advise anyone contemplating purchasing this piece of equipment to take a look at "Creative Labs" website forum. Here several complaints arise such as :- It will accept two Cd's at once and then jam. And also, the same as happened to mine, for no apparent reason the speakers simply stop functioning and emit no sound whatsoever. I have contacted Creative about this and their response implies that I am left with an expensive but useless piece of equipment which they don't want to know about.

    Creative Labs Soundworks CD740 review - Brilliant system recommended by a friend, was amazed when i heard it.Since then six members of my family own one,puts a lot of large hi-fi systems to shame! Overall, a good value or money,nice compact design,easy to use.

    Only had it 2 months and now it is back in for repair! No radio reception. That to me is poor reliability.

    Compared to my brothers Bose, the has better sound reproduction, deeper bass (drum and bass music does not distort) and a much cheaper price. I couldn't find a bad review on this unit and now I know why - it's better than my big seperates system which is good anyway. Buy it - you won't regret it, and when your friends hear it, they'll probably buy one too like mine have!
