Be aware that the whole unit goes back to Belgium for any repair, takes about 3 weeks, my experience is that it is a slightly above average set-up but very expensive. mine has been back to Belgium twice.

If you leave your Bose Lifestyle 48 system on all day. The music just plays seamlessly from the hard drive. We never missed our 400 CD player. Minimum space required, clean simple design. Excellent sound quality.

Not worth the money I paid I feel from my experience...
Expensive for me as it was made in China and bit plasticy
Not enough bass in my opinion... Therefore I would not recommend the Bose Lifestyle 48 as a Home Theatre System, unless you have lots of cash to blow!

Primitive for the money. Cannot be used to connect to a media server PC (like, eg a PS3 or an Apple TV). The storage of CDs within it may have been brilliant when conceived years back, but so "yesterday" currently when you can easily use a Cat 5 or WiFi connection to your PC in another room. The new Bose gadget for HDMI connections, incredibly(!!!) requires a separate connection for the sound, by an optical link. Still has no facility for playing Blu Ray discs. Within one week I needed my system replaced because of the cantankerous HDMI connectivity. Very disappointing overall. Time for Bose to come out with a replacement system having Blu Ray, single-cable HDMI hookup (no silly separate sound link), connectivity to a media server PC (similar to Apple TV but for full 1080p, Apple TV does not connect to 1080), and more oomph on the bass. But for classical music lovers I have not heard better sound, even from a $50,000 home theatre system.

I disagree with this review simply because what he wanted was not matched with the system that he bought but the quality and features is perfectly good on its own if it was the system match that you are looking for. Samirkharusi should have studied and thought of his existing system before he picked Bose Lifestyle 48.

You can actually connect a Media PC, just connect the video to your TV and the sound to one of Bose's many AUX connectors on the back of the unit.

<br/>The new bass module is also slightly louder and deeper as it has 3 bass drivers instead of two.

I wasted my money on the Bose Lifestyle 48 and I am very disappointed in my system . it still does not sound right even after calibration..... i had the early cubes and they sounded much better.

Excellent piece of art with only a few bad points.
I highly recommend the Bose Lifestyle 48

Overall, the sound quality of the Bose Lifestyle system is beyond any other sound system that I have had before.

After 4 months use a "chirping" noise was heard from my Bose Lifestyle 48 DVD home cinema playback unit when playing Movie DVD's. This increased over time, until it was too obvious and I called Bose service. I was given a service number and shipping address . Although in the same city, I was told not to drop the unit off. The service turn around time I was told was three weeks! You would think that for the money, a loader system would be made available until my unit was repaired. I had better service getting my Nespresso machine fixed ! They sent a pre-paid courier container with a loaner unit, and the Nespresso didn't cost as much as my Lifestyle 48!

Seems that this system can be bought for up to 50% off at www.eurosoundz.com. They supply the dual voltage, region free system, and have custoemr service reps in europe to help.

Excellent is the best word to describe the Bose Lifestyle 48 system. It has the smallest cubes out of any of the systems and best bass IMHO.
The design of the media center is the same as the other lifestyle systems and this system can hold 360 hours of your favourite music. Imagine buy a CD burn it to the media player and then never scratch it as it's in the system and ready to play anytime.
Absoultely wonderfull system the only bad things is the price, but if you shop around there are webistes that will sell the brand new system region 2 for the UK at a very good price. try www.pinnaclesound.com they have it for $3899 plus shipping.
Great system if you have the money you wont be dissapointed.
