    Good Points: Beach

    Bad Points: Everything else...

General comments: We got married at the Royal Bahamian Resort & Spa resort, and all in all, we can't say it was a BAD experience. I mean, we got married!BUT... It wasn't what we expected. The service really was awful... until we upgraded to a suite. First, it took over an hour for our luggage to get to our room. We were all checked in and ready to go... But sat in our room for all that time waiting for our stuff. (Couldn't change... couldn't shower...) It had been a long flight so that was rough. The room was "ok." We travel a LOT--I know a nice hotel room/resort and this is an average room. Since it is all-inclusive, the wet bar was stocked--but with cheaper stuff. That was ok, but still noted. Second, once we were finally able to shower, it flooded. It leaked from the bathroom to the main bedroom area thru the wall--so the area all around the one side of our bed was SOAKED on the floor. It was our wedding week--We didn't want to complain... so we worked around it. Then we realized we were paying about $5 for a wedding with a wet floor, and decided to say something and ask if we could change rooms. The wet carpet was spreading... Maintenance was sent up, they were alarmed and said they were going to talk to management... and then nothing. We needed to shower, and did, and the wet spot spread more... The next day, we finally called and complained again, and they said they would look into moving us. In the meantime...We booked a couples massages. When we arrived, they had no clue about our appointment. My husband to be met with the management, finally, and told them of our problems with the flooding, etc. They were mortified. He said he wanted a new room, but also to upgrade. He paid for the upgrade, and surprised me. It was very nice. The new room was VERY nice and no flooding. Also, we now had a "personal butler" who checked in on us, etc. The items in the wet bar were much better. BUT! Now they expected tips. (Remember, the resort is all-inclusive. They brag about not having to worry about tips.)We then got married. It was lovely. The woman who helped us was wonderful--No complaints. The next day we went to the resort's island for the day. We had a great time on a private lounge chair, but the pool was cold and we didn't swim. We only put our feet in up to our knees, THANK GOD... (There is a swim up bar.) I say thank god because by that evening our legs were breaking out. Other little things: They didn't have some of the supplies that were supposed to come with our wedding package. Cute t shirts, glasses, and a nice photo album. They said they would mail them, but never did. (I am ok with that. But still...) My husband spent approx 45 mins (no exaggeration) trying to purchase something at the spa for me... but it wasn't in their inventory so they made him wait. And wait. And wait.... while they found it. It was REALLY hard to be rude, because again, we just wanted to be happy and married... but good grief! The resort IS quiet, however. That was nice. Soooooo... In a nutshell, It is worth the money if you don't care about the extras and are willing to pay for a suite. But remember you will be expected to tip. Again, it was our WEDDING. We refused to let the bad parts ruin our time. But I think if we had been there for a straight vacation, we would have raised heck sooner.

Overall very disappointing place to take my husband for his birthday. We had to go to the Island (Sandals Cay) to get a beach chair most days. The place was old with some old world charm but certainly needs updating. The pictures of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and some of the letters to and from them was quite touching.. So reminiscent of another era..

Maybe if we had the balcony that our agent assured us that we would have, we might have felt better about it. We had a room on the top flo ...

My husband and I went to the Royal Bahamian Resort in Nassau. It was our first time and it won't be our last. We renewed our vowes for our 20th anniversary and the wedding was picture perfect. The beaches and the water was so beautiful. We can't say enough good things about how good the people, service, and food was. The shows and activities were alot of fun. They made our first trip to a sandals a wonderful experience one we will want to repeat.

Way to much for a 3 star resort. We have heard a lot about Sandals but have never gone to one and will never go back anytime soon. We have been to the Grand Lido's in Jamaica 3 time ( 4+ Star resort ). So we thought we would try one ...Big mistake.... Sandals cost a lot more than the Grand Lido's do so we thought this was going to be great vacation ..... Read On. We had to change our room 3 times... the first room in the old building smelt like an old smoking room, looking out into somebody's ro ...

In the UK Sandals resorts are marketed as mature adult holiday locations, this is the reason we booked for 14 nights @ £6000 ($12000), we might as well have gone to a European resort for a quarter of the price and shorter flight time.

My wife and I just got back from our honeymoon in the beginning of June 2007, and it was horrible. We stayed at the Sandals Royal Bahamian which I was told was one of their "Premier Flagship" destinations. I can't even imagine what the lesser locations must be like! The service in the restaurants and bars was either non-existent or just flat out rude. The food for the most part was of the same quality you'd find in most chain restaurants. The third day of our trip is when we really realized what ...

We went in Jan 2005 and although it was cold, rainy and windy and I never made it into the pool or the ocean, we still had a great time relaxing. It is a beautiful resort with great restaurants and close to casinos and shopping.

We booked the Royals Bahamian Sandals resort in the Bahamas from all the other Sandals resorts available because it has been rated the best that Sandals has to offer. So naturally we had very high expectations. But, even if we compare this to the 4 star hotel that we stayed in a year earlier in Marbella, we would have preferred our stay in the NH Alanda Hotel and Spa in Spain. Basically, most of the literature and most of the travel agents will sell Sandals to you as Paradise on Earth. Our advic ...

    Sandals Royal Bahamian:
The staff are soooooo helpful and try and make your stay a wonderful experience. The accomodation was ok but could do with an upgrade. The food was amazing and the quality was astounding. (book for the gourmet restaurants quickly)The drinks are all top quality and the cocktails are available all day long. Take some powdered milk and tea bags if you like a cuppa because milk isn't provided in the rooms only creamer.
