Good Points: Three truly superb rock tracks from this up and coming British band.
Bad Points: Not one bad point to fault the CD with.
General comments: The Ga Ga's, Breaking America - Released back in August 2003, the British rock outfit The Ga Ga's released their first ever E.P. titled "Breaking America." The three-track CD was distributed by NOVA via the Crisis label and was limited to 500 hand-numbered copies.
The tracklisting is as follows:
1. Breaking America
2. Sex
3. The Real World
Delivering a thick wedge of thumping British rock with a pounding heart of pop lying behind each track, The Ga Ga's are yet another offspring of The Wildhearts family. With some extensive gigging, the band set about distributing their first CD, and what a winner it is.
The E.P. starts off with the rock & roll anthem that is "Breaking America." With a basis of pop-rock mixed with a subtle 'Bush' sounding grunge feel, the track races through with an addictive melody that will please any fan of the music style. Destined to become a crowd favourite, the track is just pure leopard-skinned British rock.
Next we are treated to the LA sleaze-rock-sounding track "Sex". Floating vocals from Tommy and squealing guitars create this monster of a funky track.
Lastly comes the riff-heavy rockin' track "The Real World." Try not to sing along after hearing the track for the first time it's impossible! An awesome track to finish the CD with and another one that is set to get the crowd going at a gig.
All in all, the "Breaking America" CD is a superb debut release from this up-and-coming British four-piece. Well worth checking out!
