I have had this machine for over 18 months had endles problems. Having dirty dishes after the wash cycle. I changed powders still the same no one could tell me the problem, Alarm after alarm A10 afrter A10 what was the problem no one still could tell me why. Now after changeing the machine It seems that the 5 in 1 cleaning products are not all they seem to be, these tend to block the filters will not use them again. The old dishwasher yes i still have it just in case my new machine packes up.

I bought this dishwasher a few years ago and since the first wash it has a 50 50 chance of the dishes coming out clean.. usually the glasses are all stained..the job it is indeeded to do it doesn't and 9 times out of 10 i have to take the dishes out and wash them by hand ..
    It eats salt..
Overall an extremely bad product from Hotpoint... really not pleased at all with this product..

AL10 error at 15 months and Hotpoint do not want to know. What a load of rubbish and a waste of my money

We brought this Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher as a Christmas present from our families. BIG MISTAKE!! It is unreliable and despite having the Hotpoint Engineers out at least 3 times in the 1st year now it is out of warranty it is still not working properly and will only wash when on a half load cycle of anything but economy.

I've had my Hotpoint FDW80 for 3 years now. Within 2 weeks of owning it we had to call out the engineer who apparently had to replace the circuit board in the door at it failed to work. This happened three more times. The dishes do not wash very well and tonight the AL01 error came up. Unfortunately my extended warranty ran out last month. Luckily I found this site, tipped the machine back and fingers crossed it's working again.
All my appliances are hotpoint. The tumble drier stopped working 9 ...

I also had the AO1 error on my Hotpoint FDW80, and it took over 2 months from Hoptoint/Indesit to fix it. The machine broke within 13 months of having it - luckily with some arguing about the Sale of Goods act the fixed it outside the warranty for free. But 2 months later another fault - it won't turn on, or it just won't start. The call centre staff are rubbish - when I explained I didn't have an extended warranty and that I expect a product to last more than a year especially when you spend ne ...

My Hotpoint FDW80 looks good but doesn't clean (which is it's main job really!), countless error codes just after 12 months, finally blew up in smoke, not good with young children. Will be avoiding Hotpoint/Indesit from now on.

I went for low cost but in hindsight, it was false economy. It worked fine for 11 months then I may as well throw it away and get another one as it hasn't worked properly since then.

i feel my hotpoint fdw80 is a really bad make of dishwasher, i have had loads of problems with al10, had engineer after engineer, we also had extra cover from domestic and general which kept sending out engineers to replace parts, and were told that they will keep replacing parts as they are under warranty, eventually they have now written the machine off and offered a replacement, but they dont tell you that you have to pay the depreciation between the old machine and the new one. if you have got ...

Dont buy this machine or anything else from Hotpoint or Indesit. The build quality and customer service were very poor.

If you're looking to pay £300 for a dishwasher, go for a Bosch with a 2 year guarantee or pay a bit more for a Miele with a 5 year guarantee.

This machine worked well for at least 8 months from new. Then we would come home to a floor full of water, leaking from the front. We have changed from 5-1,3-1 etc, now we just use liquid. This seems to stop the leak. I have 3 other Hotpoint appliances, this being the last one I purchase. I would now not buy another Hotpoint again, we need to get a new fridge freezer this week (the one we have is in bad condition but atleast it's over 9 years old! Needless to say, it will not be a Hotpoint. Unle ...

Being a hotpoint engineer I managed to get my hands on one cheap Hotpoint FDW80 off ebay and fix it. I'll be honest, it don't wash as well as the Indesit it replaced, but they're the same basic dishwasher?!Mine's been totally fine for the past 6 months, but they do suffer from heat faults that can cause random faults. AL10 is the favourite, normally due to foam build up, using 5-1, rinse aid and no salt. I use and always tell customers to use 3-1 with salt and never go back to fix them again,a ...

The thing about the AO1 error code on the Hotpoint FDW80 is absolutely correct. Just after 12 months the AO1 code appeared, after looking on here and seeing that you empty it, tip it up and empty the water, it works fine.

AL05 what is that on a Hotpoint FDW80? Plate rack that you cannot stand the plates in. Very lucky if you manage to get the glasses clean after 2 washes, eats salt like it is going out of fashion, usually 1 bag per wash in mine.

Avoid this dishwasher at all costs. ive had mine now only 8 months and so far ive had the engineer out 3 times, first time was within a week of using it, second time it broke down twice in a week. mainly to do with error code al09 which also happens to trip the elcectricity.

Flashing error codes - poor Hotpoint customer service - they failed to arrive 3 times to repair so the machine went to the tip prematurely! Poor customer service from Indesit - who sell the Hotpoint badge on their goods, which in our case clearly wasn't up to scratch. consider BEKO AAA - had for a year so far so good - a bit noisy but great economy wash and very sturdy! was recommended when our Hotpoint was binned - very happy with it & good price too. Good Luck with your purchases!

Started off pleased with the Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher 9 months ago. After 2 months it developed the AL10 fault which apparently was due to the machine not liking bubbles being pumped around it when its trying to pump water. It's a dishwasher - its supposed to do that?! Got it fixed and was fine for another couple of months and its started again. It was going 3/4 through a cycle then dying, now it's within 1 minute of turning it on so its handwashing time again until the engineer rolls up in ...

We had this machine replaced like for like. Problem is we've got the fault AL10 as well. After more than several visits by engineer for last machine-(that couldn't be fixed) we are loathed to go down that road again (time of work for engineer to call etc) we are stuck with a heap of junk. Fault code appears every other wash. Do not buy this machine unless you like spending half your life waiting for the engineer to call - like us!

I am really dissappointed with this Hotpoint FDW80 dishwasher, all my other appliances are hotpoint, if id bought this 1st it would never have bought another hotpoint anything. Yesterday, after sunday lunch dishwasher load, top tray stuck completely- full of my mugs and glasses--now waiting to phone hotpoint again but so mad because I cant get to a mug so husband and I sharing coffee from last remaining mug! Not cheap but feels it and doesn't perform --think the popular phrase is not fit for pur ...

I wish I'd read these reviews before I chose this online, it hasn't suffered with any faults thus far but I hate it. The baskets are useless and unless your plates are flat and round, you can't get them in properly and as for pots and pans, it's a joke! I would never buy another dishwasher without seeing it first - in future I would avoid this product like the plague!
