Good Points: None
Bad Points: Plates and bowls don't stand up in racks. Can only put big plates on one side otherwise the rotating arm catches on them.
General comments: The Smeg DWF614 is difficult to load, flimsy, leaked after 2 years of alternate day use then door wouldn't shut. Paid a bit more for a Smeg appliance and might as well have bought a cheaper make. Will never buy Smeg appliance again.

Waste of money! Bought a Smeg DWF614 4 years ago, motor failed, too expensive to repair so bought a second one, lasted 18 months this time it's the PCB. Should have read the reviews before buying!

Had repair man out within months of purchase regarding very poor wash result on top rack. After 4 separate call outs and no joy, gave up and now stack only alternate slots on upper rack and it just about copes. Lower rack however is excellent. Definitely wouldn't buy another smeg after that experience.

I have scrapped this dishwasher. I purchased the Smeg DWF614 at the end of 2004 it broke down 6 times in the first year in may 2008 the steel shaft of the motor which is connected to the impeller was rusty and the metal inside the impeller had totally disintegrated which is why the dishwasher stopped working in three and a half this is built in obsolesce .

My Smeg DWF614 dishwasher looks great and easy to clean. My PCB board went after 2 years and was just out of warranty. Approx 300 to repair ( 175 + vat for part then a call out charge and labour on top). Top rack has never been great at washing and you have to load it very carefully to ensure reasonable washing standards. I gave SMEG a call to see what they had to say about my machine packing up after just over 2 years. I was impressed with their response. If I provide a written report from ...

We love it! Our last dishwasher was a Whirlpool, and although it was good, it did not always wash as one might expect. The SMEG DWF614 is outstanding as far as washing is concerned, and it's absolutely silent. I think the problem with review sites such as this is that people often feel the need to blow off some steam, and only add reviews when something goes wrong!! We have other SMEG appliances, purely because they have proved reliable, and I even have free 5 year warranties on them.

I purchased this Smeg DWF614 dishwasher because of its looks and the brand name. I expected quality!
After having it for just over a year it went unserviceable with a faulty PCB. This has subsequently happened on 2 different times. Most noticeably after it ran out of its Guarantee. Smeg has a poor follow up at this point. Do not buy this dishwasher.

I bought a Smeg DWF614 dishwasher, as independently did my sister. We both found them to be dreadful. Although easy to use and very good looking, they simply don't work - it's that simple. About half the loads come out with baked on dirt, and frankly it's glass cleaning ability is awful!

I back up all the comments about Smeg dishwashers of all models - they are absolutely dreadful. My model DF1.1 isn't listed on the website, but looks most similar to the DW614 listed. It cost £499 under 3 years ago, and it broke down for the 1st time after less than 2 years, and cost £250 to repair (motor broken). Less than a year later, it has broken down again, and is now unrepairable. I have had all sorts of problems wit it i.e. motor, water leaking into circuit board. Oh and ...

I had a very good initial experience with my Smeg DWF614 Dishwasher, which lasted up to three years. Since then, it has broken three times with separate faults. I am so glad I bought an extended warranty!
