Seriously ! if you want to change your hair color then DYE it, sun in doesn't give you an exact color. The browner your hair the more orange tint you get, the blonder the lighter. Also sun in is a BLEACH, it DRIES out your hair damaging it permanently. Im so glad i read this review!! i have been using a sheer blonde 'go lighter' product. It does exactly the same as sun in. On the first use i was really pleased but after the fifth use my hair would kink up at the roots and felt really strange, then when i dried my hair it just felt like a nasty dry mass of crimped hair. It completely drys your hair out and now i have noticed my hair breaking in places. I cant believe that it doesnt state anywhere on the bottle that this product can completely damage your hair (which is exactly what it has done) it has also gone a nasty orange colour now that i have discontinued use of this product and my scalp is dry and itchy!! My hair is inbetween a light brown and medium brown and i used it all over my hair and blow dried and it was amazing!!! I'm not sure if my hair is naturally medium brown or dark brown - I'd say it's somewhere in the middle. Because of this, I was a little concerned about how my hair would turn out after using Sun In...but I figured, worst case scenario, I'd buy a box of hair dye similiar to my natural color and dye it back. I've used it for so long now, it used to be called a touch of sun. I originally went this route because I believe, if I have to wear gloves to apply it, it's not going into my hair! This stuff has always worked for me (dark-brown very long hair) It does take a while at first to get it lighter, but it becomes so beautiful, and looks a lot more natural than saloon bleaching's. These metalics do react with some hair dyes and can dissolve your hair. So if you plan on dying your hair after using it, do a test strand first. it looks nice once you start using it, but it really damaged my hair. since its pretty much bleaching it constantly it completely ruins your hair. and i had so many split ends and breakage. also you have to use it more than once for it to actually work. besides it ruining your hair the product is nice. but i would never recommend it to anyone....

I thought sun-in would be a good idea to try out on my hair, as i really wanted a change. I sprayed the product on my hair evenly, and gently combed it while it was wet/damp. I then used the hairdryer on my hair, which is good as you can control the shade a tiny bit more. I honestly thought it was an OK product, however from hearing other peoples stories about what has happened to their hair, it made me panic so i decided to stop using it after a while incase it did something drastic! ...

I used proper bleach for years which eventually did damage my hair. After 3 years of using dark brown I wanted to go back to my natural dark blonde colour without resorting to peroxide. Sun-In does a fab job using a low dose of peroxide specially formulated to react safely with heat. I have have used this product for years. It has always served me well. My hair has never fallen out and it always looks healthy. I usually use a little of it in the summer. All the scare mongering reviews about how dangerous this product is, is perpetrated by people who will lose out financially if we all use it. The majority of hair lighteners have involve peroxide.
