Seriously ! if you want to change your hair color then DYE it, sun in doesn't give you an exact color. The browner your hair the more orange tint you get, the blonder the lighter. Also sun in is a BLEACH, it DRIES out your hair damaging it permanently. Looking at these reviews i sorta laughed because it reminded me of myself, when i first used it i LOVED it.. then i didn't want it anymore realizing my hair was DEAD. I'm now in a horrible stage of growing out the dead sandy blonde hair, my hair is...

I have been using Sun-In for about a month now and it works great. I am 14 and I didn't want to have to wait 4 more years to get a job so I could pay for highlights. My mom recomended Sun-In beacause she has seen it at walmart. I have dark blonde to light brown hair. Now that I have used Sun-In my hair is a little lighter than dirty blonde. I'm loving the results but my only concern is what do I do when my roots grow? It took it a couple of times to get this color, and I know your supposed to spray...

Being around my friends who were all doing interesting and cool things to their hair such as the whole red craze! it was only natural that i wanted to join in. But my mother firmly said no, so the rebellious teen within me saw the 'Sun-in' product at superdrug! I bought this product last summer and used it a couple of times, i only sprsyed it into the ends of my hair and the colour change was moving so slowly. mainly because i didn't really do much to my hair and blow-dryed it occassionaly. This is a review for the sun in hair lightener level 3, i found this product to be extremely fantastic every time i use it, i had black hair because i dyed it and i used this hair lightener on my hair and found it to lighten to a beautiful dark brown with light brown lowlights, every hair is different but i would totally recommend this product to anyone who wants to lighten their hair a shade or 2. I've used this product for more than 20 years as a highlighter for my dark blond hair which was bleached blond from lots of swimming in chlorinated pools. I use it on my roots only maybe once every 6 weeks and my hair is a lovely golden colour in very good condition. Hairdressers usually think it's my natural colour. If you want to go full-on blond and use it over all your hair it will quickly turn it blond then start to seriously damage your hair as any peroxide would. Be patient and sparing and...

i have light brown hair with some blonde and reddish tints already, i have been using sun in since i was 14, im 22 now, i love it always have if you have dark hair it WILL give you red or brassy look. I use it two days in a week the first time and a blow dryer after the intital use i used it sparingly to keep it up once a month. I used this product (SUN IN SPRAY IN HAIR LIGHTENER) as recomened on the bottle. After about 4 months of use (and this was not daily but I would say I used it in my hair only on the weekends) I noticed the hair at the temples of my head turing wirey and kinky. When it was finally determined by my hair dresser that this was what was causing this problem (she was horrifed that I had even used this) my hair is so chemically damaged it will take it to fully grow out to remove all the damage. Im so glad i read this review!! i have been using a sheer blonde 'go lighter' product. It does exactly the same as sun in. On the first use i was really pleased but after the fifth use my hair would kink up at the roots and felt really strange, then when i dried my hair it just felt like a nasty dry mass of crimped hair. It completely drys your hair out and now i have noticed my hair breaking in places. I cant believe that it doesnt state anywhere on the bottle that this product can completely damage your hair (which is exactly what it has done) it has also gone a nasty orange colour now that i have discontinued use of this product and my scalp is dry and itchy!! Toni and guy now dont want to put highlights in my hair for fear of it breaking from the root so i am now stuck with it as it is :( not happy!!

I was recommended Sun In by a friend and at first it worked great. My hair was dark brown, and is now a light golden blonde colour. The only thing now is i'm left with dry, frizzy patches of hair. The worst is on one side of my head near the root. It looks as if i have held a straightener on it for ages. it becomes very knotty and will not go! ive had to change my partin around so i can hide it, as it looks terrible! My hair also is very stringy when it's wet. Yes, it worked as a lightener, but...

I had (if i may say so myself) dark, Long, thick, good conditioned hair which i was very proud of... it worked sooo good on my hair! i had dark blonde hair and it brought out so many light blonde highlights. it made my hair lighter gradually and it didnt seem like i dyed it. my cousin tried it, too. she has brown hair and she got the same results! i am so pleased with this product. its also ALOT cheaper than dyeing/highlighting kits and it works just as well. the only problem is that if you have dark hair it gives it a reddish/coppery tint. it looks a litle unnatural/wierd and might come out orange....

I also used it before on my hair and it works wonders it's so easy to use and cheeper and BETTER for your hair than home or salon highlight kits it does not contain amonia so it does not stink and it may make your hair feel a bit dry just use a bit of leave in conditioner in. I'm not sure if my hair is naturally medium brown or dark brown - I'd say it's somewhere in the middle. Because of this, I was a little concerned about how my hair would turn out after using Sun In...but I figured, worst case scenario, I'd buy a box of hair dye similiar to my natural color and dye it back. However, I LOVE it! I love that it's gradual so I can control just how light of a color I achieve. I usually use it with a blow dryer as opposed to the sun because that's more convenient for me....

I've used it for so long now, it used to be called a touch of sun. I originally went this route because I believe, if I have to wear gloves to apply it, it's not going into my hair! This stuff has always worked for me (dark-brown very long hair) It does take a while at first to get it lighter, but it becomes so beautiful, and looks a lot more natural than saloon bleaching's. One bad note is Selson Blue anti-dandruff shampoo will completely remove it in like 3 shampooings! so be mindful of the color...

When I went to Florida for the summer of 2010, I used the sun-in and my hair went from dark brown to a yellow golden blonde and I have a 100% regret of using this. The color looks so noticably fake and I am sick of it. Plus, it's perminent. You can't wash this stuff out. Then I almost dye my hair until my hair dresser told me it would either burn my hair to a crisp or change completely to an unnatural color like green because of the chemicals. I had chocolate brown/dark brown hair before using this product, so don't let anyone tell you you can't use it because you have dark brown hair. I recommend blow drying it into a small strand from your bottom layer of hair to see how you like the color; there probably won't be much of a difference anyway the first time. Blow drying gives you more control and there's no chance of going unevenly orange like there is if you blast yourself with sunlight for hours. After I got out of the shower (I used...

My natural color is light brown-dark blond and I acheive a natural light blond color right now. Sun in is amazing. I have quite blonde hair anyway (quite an unusual pale golden colour) but it goes dark in the winter. Sunin takes it back to my summer colour. Sun In works really well if you know how to use it correctly. However, it does have metalics in it that can stay in your hair for months. These metalics do react with some hair dyes and can dissolve your hair. So if you plan on dying your hair after using it, do a test strand first. But other then that it is slightly safter to use them bleach. It doesn't damage your hair as much, and doesn't cause it to fall out. However, it can cause irritation to the scalp, and for the first few days your hair...

I have naturally dark/course Asian hair and I always go back to Sun-In. Been using it for over 10 years. You just need to know your hair and learn how to use it. The more product you put on the lighter your hair gets, so yes, about halfway through the bottle my hair would obviously lift to a reddish brown. But once I do finish a bottle it is a very light, almost ashy brown. Obviously besides our natural base color, everyones hair still react differently. Stripping my hair with bleach has far more...

Why would you even think it was a good idea to use it on really dark hair??? I use the super sun in.
