I have used it for years but don't spray and come in when wet. I use it on my dry clean hair, spray lightly but DON't comb in. The spray disperses lightly and you then get a light streaked look rather than block blonde with dark roots. I use the hair dryer after spraying. The secret is NOT to use it on wet hair as too much settles in solid areas. Dry hair catches the spray as a mist. So much more natural. Hairdressers have asked if I have had it done in a salon ! After drying with hairdryer,... (read more)

I used this product as directly, probably less than 10 times in a span of 5 months. It did significantly lighten my hair which I liked, but it also did unrepairable damage. I can finger comb my hair and just feel many pieces so fragile they could easily break if you tried. The product is easy to use and effective, but in the long run it just destroys your hair. I only recommend using it 1-2 times EVER. It is permanent, but remember, so is the damage. I would have liked to of known how... (read more)

I have naturally dirty blonde hair, and as I got older, my hair was beginning to get darker. A friend of mine used sun-in and had really good results so I tried it as well. At first I used it in the sun, but then started to use it before I would blow dry my hair about once a week. People noticed right away that my hair was lighter and I ended up liking my hair a lot more than before. Yes, it worked. No, do not try it. But for some reason it did not bring out my natural highlights, but turned the whole front of my hair a noticable orange. After a few washes it turned a really ugly yellow color and no longer looked nice. Whenever i flat ironed my hair it would make my hair brassy and dry. Within 2 weeks the whole front of my hair was gone. Only 1 1/2 inches were left where my bangs would've been today. I didn't even notice, my mother asked me where did all of my hair go,... This is an awful product. I would advise people to avoid using it. I went on holiday and sprayed it on a few times after washing my hair. To start with, it went a nice beachy blonde colour. But when I got home, my hair began to change colour again to a yellowy ginger/orange (which contrasted horribly with my rosy cheeks.) I looked disgusting, and I had to go into school the next day with that AWFUL colour. It was sooo embarrassing! Not only the colour changed - the texture of my hair was dry... (read more)

Anyone who recommends this product has not had enough experience with it. I have use it for about 5 years and it turned my light brown curly hair into dull, limp, straight, elastic feeling hair. Seriously no one use it no matter how much you want blonde hair. Just go to a salon. And also let it be noted that my hair color was the color it was supposed to be when used. My hair wasn't dark it was already light. The people that made this should be ashamed of themselves. (read more)

Im so glad i read this review!! i have been using a sheer blonde 'go lighter' product. It does exactly the same as sun in. On the first use i was really pleased but after the fifth use my hair would kink up at the roots and felt really strange, then when i dried my hair it just felt like a nasty dry mass of crimped hair. It completely drys your hair out and now i have noticed my hair breaking in places. I cant believe that it doesnt state anywhere on the bottle that this product can completely damage your hair (which is exactly what it has done) it has also gone a nasty orange colour now that i have discontinued use of this product and my scalp is dry and itchy!! Toni and guy now dont want to put highlights in my hair for fear of it breaking from the root so i am now stuck with it as it is :( not happy!!
