I selected a van to move my nephew and his pregnant wife to their new home. I could not take the van because my computer ID check was not successful. I had my passport, driving licence and my Register Of Electors card with me. So had to make alternative arrangements for the van. Well done A1 Removals Exeter! A1-removal.co.uk. PLEASE NEVER USE EASYCAR.COM I recently went to Pisa on business and had booked a car through Easycar.com to be collected through Avis. when I got to the desk I was told that the easycar.com account had been suspended and I had to rebook there and then pay direct to Avis and then claim my money back from easycar on my return to England. I booked a car from Rome Fiumicino airport through EasyCar and found out it was to be supplied by Locauto. Look for yourself to see what experiences renters with Locauto have, but apart from that, I had a problem (of my own making, in fact) and needed to contact Easycar customer service. Impossible - there is no phone numner, and mails to the e-mail address provided on their website bounced. I understad they are a "low overhead" operation, but SOME contact with ciustomers is necessary!! (read more)

After waiting 45 min in the freezing cold at gatwick airport I decided to call Green Motion part of easyCar as I noticed buses coming and going but not stopping at the stated stop only to be informed I needed to move to another collection bus stop. We recently booked a car at Murcia airport through easy car. On paper it looked fine. In reality it was a nightmare. At the airport we were re charged for insurance which we had already booked and paid for through easy car and other extras. We found the person on the desk overly assertive and dismissive. The same thing happened to me when I picked up my car from Malta. I have bought the Excess Waiver Insurance website through Easyjet and then I had to re-buy it again from the car hire company. Absolutely disgusting. I tried to complain but I got the same response as yours.

We hired a car on the easy jet site, which was theought Advantage car hire in Alicante Spain. We waited 1 and a half hours in the queue to get the car and paid an additional £137.00 on top of our booking in hidden costs! AVOID! They make you pay in advance for a full tank of petrol even if you don't use it all! I booked a car through Easycar for my son to use in Ireland. The terms and conditions stated that the car could be used in the UK, Ireland and Republic or Ireland. When he went to collect the car he had to sign a form saying that the car could not be driven outside of mainland UK. Luckily he was switched on enough to notice that detail. I wish I would have done some research about them before renting the car. The car was nice, pretty new, but "by mistake" they charged my deposit of 1000 Euro and I have to wait 30 days until they will reimburse the money. How convenient for them. I had to make 2 phone calls at a rate of 0.63 Euro/min to talk with them and only after I wrote an email I received a confirmation that they will reimburse the money. Hired vehicle online for 21 days with pickup Heathrow, and requested full fuel tank & SatNav, also took out extra 'cover-all' type insurance and paid them the extra. I rented a convertible at Alamo San Francisco through Easy car : BIG MISTAKE ! No convertible were available at the agency. Alamo claimed that Easy car over booked cars. You will be charged for a full tank of fuel priced over 1.5 times local rate. There is collusion between Easycar and Gold Car in Fuerteventura. In the small print where you will not look Easycar include a charge that you will be required to buy a full tank of fuel. When you get there it is charged at an extortionate rate. I used Easycar to hire a car for a recent trip to Spain as they were one of the lowest prices available. However, when I picked the car up in Spain it was a lower class of car which should have costs over £100 less. I emailed Easycar as soon as I returned to the UK and nearly four weeks later I still have not received a reply even though I have chased them. Don't rent at Easycar, if you have any problems, there is no way to reach them. They don't have a telephone number (really), and don't respond to emails at all. Even their partners (the actual car rental companies), have no means to reach Easycar by telephone or email. I'll have to break the trend here and say I actually got quite good service from Easycar. When I arrived at Edinburgh Airport to collect a car from Budget/Thrifty Rentals, which had been booked through Easycar, there was none. Online I booked and paid in advance with 'no risk' insurance to easycar. At Milan, the rental company was called LOCAUTO. The personnel were rude from the start. They told me I had to pay 20 euros a day extra insurance or else have 1000 euros blocked on my credit card.They said it was because I had booked on line. Booked a car through Easycar for 1 week at Murcia airport. Company in airport was Goldcar. Easycar quoted '106 for the week. Actual cost on arrival airport was £263.00 (pounds not euros). This did include '50 for 2 baby seats but note that Goldcar charged us '93.00 for a tank of fuel that was non negotiable. To fill the car up was approx '55/60. Total rip off.
Would never use Easycar again. Ever. Or Ryanair for that matter.

Hire Eurocar through Easyjet. Pick up was fine car was good. Informed me that I needed Winter tyres as I was travelling to Austria, which was correct and I paid the extra. Upon returning the car you are required to leave it with the keys in and report back to the check-in desk. When I got my bill the was a charge of '130 for refuelling the car plus the cost of the fuel. Very bad and unflexible customer services!!! My boyfriend and I were coming back from holidays and we booked a car with easycar online. Disgraceful. Car was broken into and their GPS unit stolen from the glove compartment. After 5 months of rubbish customer service they still refuse to pay me back for the GPS unit.
Despite the fact that I took out "ZeroRisk" insurance with them, which covers "theft", they argued over legal wording of the policy!!

Easy Car and Alamo are a Rip off do not use them. We Hired a 'Premium Vehicle' a Mercedes C Class Auto from Paris Gare Du Nord. When we picked up the car from Alamo/ National we where told the Mercedes was not available they had a choice of a Renualt wagon or a Citroen C5 both stanadard vehicles according to the Alamo Rental Car choices. Easycar offers a special scheme for renting cars in that you get them with an empty tank, can return them empty but have to clean them before.

On June 13th this year - prior to an extended trip to UK and Europe, we made an online booking on the Easycar.com website for an 8 day hire with Hertz Victoria. We paid this in full with our credit card a total of GBP228.08, and made a booking for July 15th to 23rd.
When we left New Zealand, with the last minute stress of travelling around the world, we did not take our NZ driver's licences, mistakenly thinking the International driving permit would cover this.

The problem with companies like Easy Car is that they are agents ONLY i.e. they arrange your car hire through a third party and it's entirely "pot luck" as to who you get.

What you have to realise is that Easycar are only agents and therefore at the time of making the agreement, you have no idea who the eventual hire company is going to be. If the company turns out to be Europcar or one of the other major players then you are reasonably safe. If , like us, the company turns out to be one that was in administration last December and who openly admits that they can't afford to repair their fleet, then you have a problem!

PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Although the car hire was ultimately through a local spanish company, we hold Easycar responsible for the dangerous state of the vehicle.
Both front tyres were completely bald, the car had numerous dents & misfired regularly. As we collected the car in the dark, we didn't notice the state of the tyres - given that we then drove at high speeds on motorways, I shudder to think of the consequences of one or both of the tyres blowing. Do not touch easyCar with a bargepole. Your price may include insurance but them Avis at Malpensa will sell you a second insurance unless you read the small print in fine detail and become a lawyer instead of a mere car hirer. I can summarize the experience of Renting at EasyCar as pennywise, poundfoolish.
We rented the car in april. The car was dented and had a half filled gas tank. We had to bring it back half filled (which is impossible, so it was 3/4 filled when we brought it back).
Three months later 2 x '50,- was charged on my creditcard. The creditcard company informed me that this was for a '50 police fine (driving through a "limited zone"). EasyCar (HQ based in Palermo, but that doesn't mean anything)...

Shocking! Cancelled the car hire with the supplier who told me that this was fine. Hadnt seen the refund I was led to believe I would get in my account so I phoned Easycar who are now refusing to give me the refund. So I have paid for a car that i didnt even get.
AVOID at all costs. Completely unhelpful customer service team.

DANGER DANGER. We picked up a Nissan Note at Pisa airport. There were no marks/dents on paperwork but when we went to the car is had load of dents and bashes which we noted. We had to wait 3 hours to receive the car and when we eventually received it, it was dirty. The suspension wasn't great, the wheel squeaks, the stearing wheel shakes if you go fast. Not ideal specially when they knew we had two little kids 2.5 and 16months baby

Budget and Easycar's rental system in Belfast City airport seem to be set up to dupe customers. We ended up paying twice for insurance, neither company seems to think that's a bad thing and blamed each other. Very unhelpful staff who told us the wrong information and took a long time to feed back unhelful information.
I wish they'd tell you online that the money you pay for Zero Cover quite literally covers you for nothing! Would never use again nor would I recommend to anyone I know.

I booked a compact car with Easycar in April and paid £398. I contacted them today to ask how much it would cost to change to a large family car. They quoted me £766 on top of what I have already paid. I checked the website and I could book a large family car with them today for £745 - over £400 less than they are asking me. I also would suggest not to hire anything from Locauto.
The problem for me was to give back the vehicle after use.
When I gave back the car, nobody was there to inspect the car for damages and for the level of petrol in the tank. As a consequence, I had no documentation showing that the car was without damages and fully tanked.

Exactly the same happended to us on 6 April 2013 at Olbia airport, Sardinia. We too were told that the Avis account had been suspended and had no choice but to book a car hire directly with Avis at a higher cost. Easycar responded to our initial email and refunded the full amount Easycar had charged us for car hire and insurance excess with the promise to investigate the matter further. We have subsequently sent two further emails requesting an explanation and a refund of the difference we were forced to pay Avis. To date they have not had the common courtesy to acknowledge or respond to either email. DO NOT USE EASYCAR>COM.

The only thing mentioned anywhere on the web is that if you buy this insurance your money will be refunded. But NOWHERE is it mentioned how can you cancel a reservation.
