Good Points: None whatsoever - NB This is NOT part of the Easyjet Group!
Bad Points: Cars are in poor condition and damaged.. When we refused one and asked for a replacement we were told that "they're all the same". Trying to get a refund now. This was done through Economy Car Rentals based in Crete. They look like they don't want to know.
General comments: I would not consider using Easy Car at Olbia Airport. Use Economy Car Rentals with caution as they are proving difficult, I keep having to ring Crete!

I booked car rental from Montpelier airport. Right at the end of the on-line booking process (having paid the rental in full) I was shown a map of the pick-up location. This was 6 miles from the airport with no explanation of how to get there. I wasn't happy with this as we are travelling with our small children and I do not want to drive into the centre of town for the return journey. I called the telephone help line as soon as it opened (@ 60p/min) and they refused to give me a refund even tho ...

My wife and I collected our easyCar rental car from Billys Car Hire at Malta airport on Friday 28 December, and delivered it back three days later - amazingly in one piece (us and the car!).
It was a disgrace. The Kia Avella car we were supplied was at least 10 years old (it was only manufactured between 1994 and 1998), it had 93,000km on the clock and it was in a tatty condition.
Worse than that were the faults:
1. The passenger seatbelt was faulty (would frequently pop out of the socket).

In september 2007 my wife and I rented a small car from Easycar.
We returned it one day to late, but we called them, and told them that we wanted to keep the a 1 extra day, which was fine.
We returned the car, and it was inspected by a easycar employee. He said that the car was ok, and that easycar would withdraw around 20€ for the extra day (which was fine with us).
27.9.2007 they withdrew the 20€,- euro... OK!
Then yesterday 08.01.2008 my wife and I discovered that easycar had withdrawn 2 ...

Having booked a car for boxing day @ Edinburgh airport Eurocar who were contract by easycar to supply the car refused to do this. The customer advisor was indifferent, saying take this up with easycar and said they had no cars left. When I tried to call their helpline (help being a joke) at 60p per minute which is located they informed me of there no refund no cancellation policy and could not help in any way.
I would not recommend!!

I posted a comment a few days ago about how EasyCar's system is set up as a scam to take money for a reservation and then not provide a rental car, and further to create dozens of obstacles to getting the money back. Only a few days after I posted my review on this website and a few others (and sent the links to Easy Car) the returned the money in full. But it took TWO MONTHS. Just so you know this is real, the details of the incident are as follows:
On 29 September 2007 I rented a car from EasyCar from EasyCar's online website, and received an email receipt for the rental of a BMW I series or similar (which incidentally was intended as a birthday present); my credit card was debited for the FULL AMOUNT of the rental of EUR 265. 22;

They took our money without arranging for a car and left my family stranded in Valencia airport at 1.30am. We had to arrange alternative car hire (which took days off our holiday because of summer demand) and then they didn't care when we returned home. After two letters to the customer Services Dept we got the money back for the hire but little else, later correspondence to them has been ignored. I found the way I was treated simply appalling.

Avoid Easy Car Rental if you can. The price is no better than any other company, but the service is appalling. I am trying to change my booking from Athens, which is currently on fire, but their website will not allow me to amend and their 60p per minute "help" line put me on hold for 15 mins then cut me off. About the worst start to a holiday we have ever come across ... stay well clear and book a car with a reputable, if more expensive company. I watched all the people on our flight head off to the likes of Herz and Avis and I was so envious. STAY WELL CLEAR OF EASYCAR.

Sent to a car park with a number, picked up the car but didn't see one person, it was the same when we dropped it off in the car park and left the keys at a desk. A few weeks later we got a credit card statement saying that they had taken £150, I had to ring them to ask why? No letter, no email, not even a phone call.

Steer clear is my advice. I set out to book a hire car for Geneva airport and selected Switzerland as the country. It was not until my booking was made that I realised the booking had been made for the French sector of Geneva airport, which was inconvenient for my requirements. The customer service attitude was one where the T&C s state no refund after card entry has been made. My point was that I was getting error messages and no booking confirmation. They are adamant about the T&C and don't seem to comprehend the problem at all. The T&C is no compensation and so once booked you're hooked.
To top it all the help desk number is a premium rate number.

Their online and printed documentation said that I needed a credit card, but I was not told that it needed to be in the name of the driver. I was not allowed to pick up the car, and despite an expensive 60p per minute phone call to Easy Car rental, I was not refunded any money. There is a place on their website which states that the credit card needs to be in the drivers name, but you have to hunt for it. Why would they leave such important wording out of the printed contract?

We got an upgrade with Easy car Rental for free, which was a class E Car, and we were given a Ford Focus with air conditioning.
The paperwork and delivery of the car took place right at the airport, and we were gone in 10 minutes. Also, the online broker Algarve Rental were very helpful, and we got the confirmation of our rental instantly.

We got no car from Easycar Rental in Olbia due to a mix up in paperwork between the agent and Easycar. And I can get no reply from the agent Economycar Rentals.

We booked car hire through Economy Car Rental, who placed our order with a company called Airauto. When we arrived at Faro airport there was no one to greet us as stated on the confirmation, and there was nobody at the Airauto stand, which we eventually found. I tried telephoning the helpline numbers given on the confirmation, to be told they were unavailable. We waited 35 minutes and then we booked a car through Avis.
