“Little mistake cost me big money!”

I bought a flight online via eBookers and used my credit card to pay. Only after receiving the e-ticket did I realise that the website had used my login details as the name for my ticket with no prompts at any stage for me to make sure that the name supplied (which they pulled from my registration details) was correct as per my passport as tht tickets would be issued in that name. “Ghey are sharks”

Ahter mk 17 went down Air Malasia offered full refund for flights Ebookers originally booked these flights and then rebooked our subsequent flights. Indonesia had cheap flights right tome and day and it was advertised on their website. India girl tried to book us onto flight but somehow she couldntet through. “Horrible experience-Wasted lots of time to save a few...”

I can not give a bad rating the choice or value provided by ebookers. But the service after making the booking was horrible. There was no mention of transfers during the booking and once I questioned this, I was asked for £90 extra for a 6 mile journey. Lots of phone calls at my expense and four days, and still no improvement. “very unhelpful call centre”

“Misleading processes outweigh lovely customer service...”

I recently searched many sites for a business class fare for my father on a long, 24 hour plus, trip. Two or three sites had good deals and I chose ebookers because the total fly time was best. I am located in europe. I booked using the "business class" selector at the beginning. As I was told there was only one seat, I was perhaps quicker than usual through the process, but I simply did not notice that two legs of the trip were economy, despite having chosen business. “Poor inflight service”

Due to overbooking we were rerouted on our outward journey, due to this we were offered Jet Premiere for part of the route. In Jet Premiere the service was excellent. After this we decided the lack of service in economy must have been an observation made in comparison. The disappointment, therefore, came on the return trip on 31 July; flights 0061 (BKK BOM) and 0118 (BOM LHR) I have to say that I found the level of service on both flights to be brusque to the point of rudeness. “Absolutely terrible customer service!”

Terrible company - we booked our round trip between London and the Caribbean/South America months ago. Initially, they failed to inform the airline of our booking with them for the return flight which took weeks of wrangling to sort out. They have now 'lost' our outbound booking with British Airways, who now also say they have no record of us ever being booked with them. “Booking Flights Only”

When booking a flight with Ebookers and other similar sites take your time and watch as the prices go up and down. They will release a few tickets at a time when they are sold they will jack up the price Hope to catch a few more if that does not work down goes the price You can pay a high price on one day and get a good reduction the next. “Quoted three different figures”

Due to a family illness, we had to cancel our booking. 1 week prior to our flight we phoned up and got the usual scripted foreign call centre routine and a figure given to us for a refund (approx 1100). I said I'd call back once I'd spoken to my girlfriend etc etc. I did so, and they quoted 650...so I hung up and spoke to another operator who then offered me 1030. Not very good. “You cannot claim the VAT back !”

I recently booked a weekend trip to London through e-bookers. I spent a great deal of time on the phone with a very helpful chap that was in India. I eventually agreed to the price he quoted which included all taxes and fees. These fees amounted to 20% which was the VAT that showed on the email confirmation. I paid over the phone. I have just had exactly the same issue with 4 rooms booked for business travellers for a UK business in a UK hotel.

I think e-bookers have a responsibilty to disclose that the "taxes" quoted are not reclaimable by UK businesses (even though they mysteriously appear to be the same 20% VAT rate).

They should be able to arrange your booking direct with the hotel (the receipt could then be issued directly to you on checkout) and they can claim their commission from the hotel and everyone would be happy.

So a warning to all business travellers - do NOT book with ebookers if you want to reclaim the VAT paid.

We booked through Ebookers, and all was good except one hotel, which we were warned was being renovated. The Royal Peacock, China town was so bad we had to complain. We did get moved to a so-called top grade room without extra charge. Even when told what parts had been renovated, we could not tell. It was so scruffy with poor workmanship, and choice of dark decor. I still haven't got through on the phone to inform Ebookers that this hotel is not up to standard… Read Full Review
