Good Points: KIT is 5 years ahead of any thing like it anywhere in the world. It is the only fully integrated broadband TV service using ADSL. The BBCi content is amazing and was awarde both BAFTA and Royal Television awards. Video-on-demand integrated with broadcast streamed video and internet browsing not to mention instantaneous on screen messaging and email. IP delivered Video quality is excellent when compared to WMP or Real. It has 4.5Mb/s for broadcast and 2Mb/s for VoD with instantaneous trick play control. It is a marvel of technological innovation and only now are the likes of BT and France Telecom launching similar services.
Bad Points: Content is poor - the exception is the BBCi stuff. TV channels are a miss mash of Sky and others and limited to a total of 50. The satellite option is better. I wish they would offer Freeview and dump Sky!!. VoD content is also poor although now managed by blockbuster and the web based content has not changed for about 36 months! It is totally out of date! Set-top box has also had its day with much better boxes available now. The ADSL modem is seperate and today a wireless router would be better connecting PC and TV at the same time.
General comments: The underlying technology of the Kingston Interactive Television KIT is fantastic and I'm just waiting for someone with the imagination of the original pioneers (all gone now due to cost cutting!!!) to knock KIT back into shape.

This Interactive Television service started a little flakily, however it just gets better and better every day. I'm constantly surprised by the new services they keep quiet adding.- Read MovieBuff's review (58 words)

I really like this service from the Kingston Interactive Television Kit and Pace DSL4000 box. The best point is not having to return movies when it's raining :) I can also watch things when I want, much of the content is on demand. The EPG is excellent compared to any other I've ever seen. The BBC interactive feature is vastly superior to terrestrial digital tv.- Read Martin's review (102 words)

This is one of the first areas to have ADSL service installed- this is TV, internet etc. down the telephone line.
First- the box takes a lot of time to start up, and if you ever turn it off with the remote, you can't turn it back on without resetting it. Menus appear very slowly considering the bandwidth available.
I can only really compare the TV service with conventional terrestrial TV.
TV picture quality is absolutely abysmal- blurred, flickering and washed-out colours, compression arte ...- Read Hullperson's review (271 words and 2 comments)
