Good Points: Worked like a dream on my Gigabyte mobo based PC. Easy to install - worked first time.
Bad Points: None with above PC but see below
General comments: Have now changed my PC to one based on Asus A7A266/Ali chipset mobo and find by experience and info from Freecom that there are problems with some boards or more likely chipsets, precluding satisfactory operation.
Whilst it writes (usually) it will not read either old Cd's or new, although they can be read on the other CD-DVD on the PC.
So beware.

According to Windows, this is actually an NEC NR-7700A drive
At the time of purchase, this was possibly the cheapest "Burnproof" drives- mine cost £100 including VAT and delivery from dabs.com
It seems to work pretty well, and the write speed seems fast. To be honest, my PC (a 1997 vintage Pentium 166) cannot keep up so it has yet to show it's true colours
