Mine are about three years old. The tread depth is OK but they show bad cracking at the sides. I wouldn't buy them again.

The Continental ContiSport Contact 2 look good but are too exspensive. My tow front tyers are bald on the inside and my car is only 18 months old

Fitted the ContiSport Contact 2s on my 02 plate Seat Ibiza cupra 9 months ago. Have done just over 3000 miles and the front tyres need replacing already. Was very impressed with the grip these tyres give but replacing them every 3000 miles is a bit costly if you ask me. So will be looking for tyres that will last a bit longer.

Great grip but they wear out so quickly its beyond belief. Normally I need a set of fronts every 3 yrs (I use snow tyres for 4 month of the year, mandatory in swiss), these tyres lasted < 1 yrs, its a joke. So, they are not very environmentally sound because of this and work out hideously expensive.

Good grip in wet and dry, problem is they only lasted 6 months on a Ford Mondeo, 13000 miles. Expensive driving!

I have an Mitsubishi EVO 8 260 and have been running Bridgestone RE050's for three years now without complaint. I needed some tyres quickly and a local supplier had the Sport Contact's in stock, after a little research I decided that they should be comparable and so replaced all 4 tyres. Within 1 mile I realised it was a big mistake, I could not believe how my sharp handling had gone and my Evo felt like it had been replaced by a mondeo. The main problem with this tyre is the sidewalls, unless the tyre is under full load it wobbles like a jelly. I noticed that even when I close the doors the car wobbles side to side for a few seconds!

I write from Spain, I live in the center of the country in the mountains so we have here wet springs and dry summers. I change my car, thanks to a Leasing program, each 20,000km so I can test a lot of tyres and sometimes I have two times the same model of car with different tyres. I'm using now a Conti SportContact 2 in size 225/45 - 17 and after some other Contis used before I have again the same feeling with them... Good grip in general but not as good as other brands... I have to say that I drive every day in a hard and technical mountain road to the office and It has, the left wheels on tarmac and the right ones in concrete and thousands of corners each month. Regarding to the feeling... with this Conti I feel the same than with other models from the brand. Good brake but not enough good in sport driving in sharp but fast corners... For example I was using time ago the Goodyear Eagle F1 and to me was the best tyre I can drive... incredible grip in wet or dry and super confidence in corners. Maybe the difference is that the Eagle F1 had the limit higher than the SportContact 2 but the error margin was short. It looks that the Conti start to warn you before that you are close to the limit so the tyre has a smooth slide. The Eagle felt like you were over rails like a train. The Conti has a high wear and in a sport driving it only have good use for 12.000 Km, max. 15k Km. The Eagle or the Potenza went a little over 20.000km with better grip and better durability. Definitely, not bad tyre but I prefer the Eagle F1 or the Bridgestone Potenza.
