The parts are extremely cheap plastic. Lets start with the Plastic scope,it's worthless. Moving on to the regular sights Rear sight moves out of alignment when tightening the screw rendering it useless. If you just aim by eye without the sight it seems fairly accurate when using pellets but BB's go everywhere. Pumping it is very difficult, a healthy teen will tire of it quickly, an adult even more so. You'll really get shafted if you buy this cheap piece of junk. Buy a cheap BB gun it will... (read more)

I bought this gun about a year ago and have used it maybe half dozen times to shoot bids that peck on my porch wood. I went to use it one day and it wouldn't pump up. I checked on the warranty and it had just expired. I have oiled the pump and nothing. So I have a nothing gun that has hardly been used. The reason I purchased it was my son had an older Crosman which is the company that makes this gun and he shot the heck out of it. I guess the difference is his was made in the USA instead of... I bought this gun for $85 off airgunwarehouseinc.com and it was well worth it. I wouldn't bother with a scope on this gun because it is the first one i've seen in a while with very nice iron sights. I've only hunted for birds with it but I've gotten plenty, and from a pretty far range too. I shoot the nasty birds like pidgins out of the trees with pellets and I just use BBs for target shooting. While the stock on the gun is a bit cheap feeling, nothing else is. The receiver is full metal,... (read more)

I just purchased a Remington 77 over the weekend and when I got home
took it out of the box try it out,but never got a first shot. Trigger is
locked up, tried different ways to make it work but to no avail. as I was putting back in the box to take back to Walmart I found a card inside the package that stated not to take back to store but to call Remington service
center.I think that this is a very big inconvinience and a bad purchase.

THE GUN IS DEFINITELY NOT A TOY!
This pellet gun has sufficient power to kill a squirrel and is very accurate at 30 yards. Despite the advise of other reviewers, I decided to use the scope that came with the gun. It took me about 10 shots (pellets only) to get the scope zeroed in and I have had excellent accuracy with it. My only critism with the gun is that it takes ten pumps in order to get maximum velocity and becomes a bit tiresome, especially after firing several shots. I think this gun...

First of all, this is not a toy. This is not what you want to get little junior for his first air rifle. It is way too powerful for an inexperienced child. I know these guns inside and out. I have more experience with this pump rifle, than any other. I purchased my fourth one last night, the first two being crosman2100, wich is the EXACT same rifle. I will start with power. I say it needs a lot more power that would be awesome if it did. I have shot tons of birds in my back yard with it and its accurasy is ok for a pellet/bbgun. when it comes to squirrls though dosent have enough power to take down one. I know this because i shot the same squirrl three times once in the head and twice in the back. but it can take out a rabbit very easily. It cant kill a squirrel and it dosent have a lot of power (read more)

I have owned one for two years. I recently upgraded to a Crosman 500x, I liked the superior accuracy of the Remington, but the repeated pumping . The Remington Model 77 Airmaster is the top of the line multi-pump air rifle that Remington offers. This is a step up from the Remington 760 multi-pump air rifle.
There is much more weight to this rifle than the 760, evident in some of the actual metal parts-instead of plastic.
This rifle feels great on the shoulder and has no recoil and little noise.
The user is also capable of using pellets or BB's in this rifle, with a built in BB reservoir in the stock.
The cocking mechanism is simple...

Very accurate with the mounted sights (if you have steady hands, or can lean it against something)
If you're buying this AG for BB shooting, then DON'T! Because, after about 7 meters, the BB goes 1/2" to the side and 20 meters away about a foot to the right (LOL, i can do better with a BB pistol) If there is that cheap scope installed,...

Basically take a Crosman 2100 and give it a nickel plated barrel. Then add a scope of so-so quality. Only charge an extra $10. What a deal! I suspect having the Winchester name on it means a higher level of quality control than a regular Crosman. For $25 more than a similar Daisy Powermaster 880, it is money well spent. I bought both at the same time. The Daisy is a nice $45 rifle. If that's your budget, you probably can't do better. If you can swing the extra $25, get this one. I gave it... (read more)

I just picked up the Remington Airmaster 77 at Wal-Mart today and I love it. When I first took it out of the box, i first wiped it down with a silicone rag. Then I gave the barrel a good cleaning. After I got all of the oil out of the barrel the factory applies to prevent them from rusting in warehouses and on the shelf. I must revise my accuracy rating on this weapon - it is 10 out of 10! ...but the adjustable
sights are the best for everyday plinking. Be patient if you want to use the scope or a red dot sight, as that will require effort in adjustment to achieve accuracy.

<br>This is a derivative of the Crosman 2100B, but the Remington Airmaster 77 is a TRUE hybrid, with a striking resemblance to the classic NYLON 66 22 caliber rifle.

You do have a good point about the time, effort and noise associated with pumping the gun. How ever, You rarely get more than one shot in the field anyhow and with a break barrel, you can't leave it cocked for more than a few minutes or else the spring will begin to compress and you'll ruin the gun. With a multi-pump, you don't have to worry about this. Also, springers can be difficult to shoot. I have a Crosman 2100 multi-pump, a Benjamin 392 LE multi-pump, a Daisy Powerline 880 multi-pump and a Gamo Shadow 1000 break barrel with around $400 invested in the gun and upgrades ie; muzzle brake, one piece scope mount, a 6-18X50 tactical scope, a one piece scope mount, a spring tune, as well as the barrel being wrapped in several layers of heat shrink plastic to make a weatherproof bull-barrel. This makes the barrel much stiffer, reduces vibration, and greatly increased the accuracy in my gun. Out of those guns the shadow is definitely the hardest to shoot accurately. It is a very accurate gun when you shoot it correctly. I can shoot the fluffy part on a cattail from 60 yards almost every time, but it is still difficult to shoot. Although slightly less powerfull, I still prefer the multi-pumps over the springers because what's power if you can't hit anything? The Daisy Powerline 880 is extremely accurate. The only mod is the barrel shroud is packed with newspaper to help support the barrel. With Crosman premier pellets, I've gotten consistent 1 inch groups at 58 yards with some being around 1/2. That accuracy rivals the best PCP guns. For $39, it can't be beat Just my 2 cents on the pump vs springer matter

I got the Remington Airmaster 77 for my 10-year-old daughter to practice target shooting at 10M. When I got it out of the box, the sights were so far off it took me over an hour to get shots on target. Now that I have the sights adjusted, it is easy to put 10 shots into a bull the size of a dime at 10M.
As I said, it is tough for my daughter to pump the rifle more than 5 times (not so bad since 5 pumps is plenty to keep accurate at short distances).
