    Good Points: Worked perfectly.

    Bad Points: None.

General comments: I keep my computers clean with anti virus, anti spyware, and registry cleaner. i transferred from sony xp desktop to new dell dimension desktop. i was prepared to call ms and get permission to reinstall office, and to reinstall norton anti-virus and counterspy. i had old serial # for adobe acrobat and a few others. to my amazement it transferred registry, home network codes, ie favorites, ms outlook emails, all user settings perfectly be the usb cable. just read the directions.

I'm glad I hadn't read all the reviews on PC Mover before buying it, because if I had, I would have avoided it like the plauge. Turns out I'm glad I used it and have recommended it to my friends. You do have to carefully study the directions first and have a battle plan prepared. I wrote out my step-by-step pre-install plans first, followed them closely, and had a positive overall experience. Yes, I have had to re-install a couple things since then, but the directions warn that that might be a p ...

Had I read these comments first I would not have purchased it either!! But I transferred from Windows XP to Windows XP through the provided USB cable and it took just a little over an hour. My old pc had a 1.0 USB and the new one has a 2.0 USB and after I set up the provided drivers, everything worked just fine ...it seems like everything transferred, even my favorites in Internet Explorer. Some of the programs didn't transfer, but they were like virus protection and other things you may not hav ...

I've just recommended Laplink PC Mover to an online acquaintance, I was then directed to these reviews here and given those I probably wouldn't have bought it. Just thought I ought to point out it does work for some people.

Wish I had read these reviews first. Laplink PC Mover had problems all the way. Finally froze during transfer after about 4 hours to get that far. From what I read I'm lucky the transfer didn't happen.

My very first attempt to transfer data from my desk top to my laptop made my laptop crash after waiting for 2 1/2 hours for the transfer to take place. Subsequent to that my laptop went in a loop and would not go further than the windows logo. Could not be started in safe mode nor could I go to the restore facility. A computer shop tried to save my data but could not. Finally they had to wipe the hard drive clean and re-install windows. My desk top is unaffected. Do not use this product!

Buyer beware! I was looking to transfer my programmes to my new vista pc and despite the pitiful reviews, i was stupid enough to purchase it. (There is nothing else, is there)
After wasting an evening into the early hours i removed the programme via system restore no less, and requested a refund from the Laplink, no help centre.
In refusing to give a refund i did at least get an offer of a similar product. Given that i have sold my old pc, this offer is useless

I bought a brand new top of the line Dell XPS, and I used Laplink PC Mover to transfer all files from my older Dell Dimension to the XPS. I have to say that my woes did not begin in slow fits and starts like someone with a hidden sickness. Instead, my computer developed symptoms not unlike someone who was just hit by a speeding moving truck (no pun intended). In a short summary of problems, Laplink PC Mover resulted in Outlook losing all business contact data, dropped 60% of all Inbox and Sent ...

Very difficult to set up with no apparent means of getting support. I got it with my new Dell. I am going to demand a full refund from Dell. At the time I tried to use the product, which requires a internet connection to verify the serial number, the Laplink web site was down and there is no means of phone support!!! Do not purchase this product

I bought PC Mover when I recently bought my new Dell computer. The Dell sales person said all his customers raved about how easy it was to use. I am sorry I fell for it. I immediately had trouble w/MS Office and activation. I had bought a new MS Office license and PC Mover failed to suggest I install the new Office software before I used their program although I am not even sure that would have solved my issues. PC Mover failed to respond to both of my calls for tech support- they have you lea ...

The installation of the Laplink PC Mover only allowed the new computer to recognize the usb cable provided to transfer the info between the computers; the old computer does not recognize the usb cable. I tried to obtain support from laplink, but there is a fee of $30 an hour to talk to a support person. I would not recommend this product.
