If Japan wonders why its electronics industry is failing, perhaps it should read the following. I recently purchased a Sony TV. I made a point to the salesman at JLP that it would have to be affixed to my current wall bracket. I was informed that would not be a problem. I completed the purchase; went home to assemble the Sony TV onto the bracket. No screws! I telephoned JLP, who informed me that Sony do not supply screws with their TVs: They prefer people to purchase Sony's own wall... (read more)

1 bought a sony 32cx520 tv and after 15 months it stuck in software upgrade mode, their tv engineer who turned up was wearing samsung overalls, i have been informed that the cost to repair it is 210 pounds because the main board needs replacing, after contacting SONY customer services they said they could offer no help, they even said that the main board should not have failed but still offered no help, so if you are thinking of buying a SONY think carefully, there are much cheaper TV,s out... "I have spent thousands over the years on Sony products because I had confidence that they took a reasonable attitude to out of warranty defects. Sadly it seems this no longer applies. I recommended my elderly mother buy a Sony for this reason. Two Months after the warranty ran out the thing blew up its boards. Well Sony didn't want to know despite what is clearly a manufacturing defect. Apparantly we shouldn't expect a TV to last longer than the warranty. Even the service manager at the... (read more)

Sony TV products are the worst ever as they ok off within 2 years and then Sony keeps us go merry go round and sucks money to repair. Pathetic service to a pthetic product. I have unfortunately brought in 2 products. 1. Sony Home Theatre which conked off in 18 months and the entire DVD reader needed replacement for 3500 rs. I replaced it but it went off again in another 18 months and his time also he problem was the same. Same has been the experience with 46 inches LCD Bravia purchased only 2 years back. Not it seems hat e motherboard has become faulty and even after paying them in advance for 6000 fr repairs, no response. Worst service and product. LG is ar superior

I bought a SONY TV 2 years back and it had a problem of bad image quality. I called up SONY and talked to the escalation team. They told me to get the TV inspected for $100 and they will take care of the parts and labor. After i got TV inspected they told me the part is not in stock and tried to sell me a new TV. I had high regards for SONY until this incident. The worst support i have faced , i will never buy SONY again and also recommend all who read this to buy any other brand than SONY. (read more)

If you don't mind a rear projection tv then try one of these, the lamp lasts roughly 8000 hours (give or take, mines still running after 4+ years) and the picture / sound is great as you'd expect from Sony. New lamp including housing costs about 70 quid and is simple to fit, so no problems with that, I would like a 3rd HDMI but 2's fine. (read more)

My friend has an electronic store, so I have a good chance of trying new things. I saw EX520 TV in hos shop and some people inquiring about it. Them I went for a demo for this TV. I was impressed with the TV;s picture and sound quality. And to top it sony has got a new technology in this TV, so even if you are watching videos with average clarity, this Tv will play it in clarity. That is a plus point because not all Tv channels in India are in HD at this point of time. Then you can connect... (read more)

but give it 2 because mine still works & the picture is not bad. I bought this TV on the 23rd July 2011. It is a good picture but it ends there! All the external devices, WiFi, H/D & also the actual manuals, online & paper are useless. I have lost 2 new hardrives after connecting to record. Both now show message, 'NO HARD DRIVE CONNECTED' after formatting, un-formatting etc etc, with both it is also IMPOSSIBLE to reformat on my PC's or any other formatting device. I have sent one back to... (read more)

Bought a Sony 32" Model No. KDL-32L5000 just over a year ago. The screen has now gone schizo on me and Sony basically told me to go F myself. Sony used to be a solid brand, but things have gone way downhill in recent years. I tried to get Sony to work with me on the problem, but their customer service was terrible. I cannot justify ever purchasing another Sony product ever again. I certainly cannot justify spending more than $500 on a television every year and I absolutely refuse to purchase... (read more)

Despite being a traditional CRT this TV had lovely pictures on it at 100hz The sound quality was great. I wish I new that they didnt move well and they are likely to fail in this part of the telly as if you google the proplem of 8 flashes on a sony it comes up time and time again. (read more)

These new high end Sony televisions are plagued with power and electronics problems as I have discovered after my set died. This television cost about $3000 to buy and it is my belief that it should last about that many years. The cost to repair this set is between $400 and $700, and only by "repair" as they no longer make replacement parts for the ones which are dying. Due to weight it also requires the cost of a house visit by a technician as the voltages can kill an inxperienced DIY'er. (read more)
