Good Points: Brilliant for all ironing especially linen and duvets etc.

Bad Points: I have the ironing board up all the time in our dressing room and the pro express sits neatly on the floor, but this could a problem for some who put their iron away, as it's quite big.

General comments: The Tefal 4293114P is the best iron I have ever had. I really enjoy ironing with it and the results are fabby. Easy to use and the water tank does not need refilling for ages! Glides over clothes and irons through to the other side too. Great for T-shirts, pjs etc. Lots of setting choices and irons very well when you don't want steam.

Wouldn't recommend the Tefal 4293114P Pro Express Steam Generator Iron if you want something that lasts more than two years. Mine started dribbling brown, rusty water and dirt after two years of use.

My Tefal 4293114P Pro has broken down completely (no steam) twice and has been a nightmare to get repaired - but it keeps throwing out rusty brown water onto clean clothes - requiring a rewash - not a good time saver!

This Tefal 4293114P Pro Express Steam is my second one after tefal replaced the first of both irons 2 years. I wont be buying tefal again. I had to pay postage to have it fixed and got it back 2 weeks later. There is much cheaper ones on the market with the same watts.

I would have bought another Tefal 4293114P Proe but will look for another brand now - I think companies need to help unhappy customers who were good enough to buy their products!

Tefal's customer service was useless in this case and I wonder whether they have provided me with incorrect information on what I should do with the iron. I have been asked to fill the bottom base with water, when no where in the manual was this indicated. Do I need to fill up the bottom cavity with water in order to generate steam? Personally, good iron if it did not have these problems.

Despite bad points, it's a good iron when not playing up can do my ironing in half the time.

Broke down after 2 years - poor service from customer support - almost impossible to get through to someone. Told by first advisor - spare part available from service contractor.Given service contractor number in Birmingham. They said try local repair shop and part was not available, and it would be very expensive to repair. Evidently Tefal irons have a special lining in the boiler part and if (they really mean when!) this fails you might as well chuck it!. I took their advice and let a local s ...

Although the iron had very light use (I kept it just for dressmaking) it broke down after 14 months. Obviously not very durable, poor performance for such an expensive iron, and at £115 it cost four times a good quality ordinary iron. When I phoned Tefal they gave me a number which I tried, but I couldn't get a reply. I will have to take it to a local shop and pay for the repair myself, although I am wondering whether it will be worth paying to have it mended. Since other people have obvio ...

When I telephoned Tefal the customer service was apalling. They told me to turn the Generator on it's side to get the serial numbers, I said the appliance was hot, that's okay they say - next thing I know there is a very loud whistling noise and steam/hot water is spurting across the room. Her response? "I'm very sorry you're having this problem with your iron"

Fantastic iron the 3 times I used it before it broke down. Tefal took ages to respond.

The Tefal 4293114P Pro Express Steam Generator iron arrived DOA, and it had to go straight back to be repaired, which was very slow. It has just failed again after 18 months, and I've just been told that it will take 2 weeks to get repaired. Unacceptable quality for an iron which costs so much. Customer service is poor. In use the iron has also become very noisy when the pump operates, and when one returns to the iron after a few minutes - and presses the steam button the steam is released at ...

The Tefal 4293114P Pro Express Steam Generator Iron is great when new. If you do have it on too hot and fibres get stuck to the sole-plate, they are easily removed; unlike the irons with stainless steel sole-plates. I also found that it works well at lower temperatures; unlike my previous Polti. However, after 3 months the cable got stuck, and I had to return it to the repairers in England under warranty. As I live in Northern Ireland and there was only the one Tefal repairer in England, ...

The Tefal 4293114P steam Iron is great when it is new. It has good steam output, and is a quality iron. Unfortunately, over time the steam flex frays, and then it starts dribbling water from the iron, which is often stained. I have had one replaced under warranty, and the second one has now gone the same way as the first one. I would recommend you buy an extended warranty!
