Good Points: Five truly inspired rock tracks from this up and coming band. Includes a bonus live video for your computer.
Bad Points: None, none and none again!
General comments: New Disease, Axiomatic EP - New Disease were first formed in late 2001 when guitarist Mark Thwaite got together with vocalist Lee Bane, ex-Wildhearts drummer Ritch Battersby and bassist Richard Adams. Delivering an alternative-rock sound not dissimilar to the likes of VAST, Stabbing Westward and Devin Townsend's Ocean Machine project, the band hit the UK rock scene supporting bands such as H.I.M. and Prong.
May of 2003 saw the long-awaited release of New Disease's debut release, the 'Axiomatic E.P.'. The five-track CD also contains a bonus mpeg live video of the track Hold On (Here Comes The Sun).

From the start of the CD you are thrown into a very well-produced recording of the group delivering five tracks of proficient rock. The similarity between this band and VAST is quite unbelievable, but New Disease seem to come out on top on the strength of these five songs. Each one contains such meaty riffs and powerful choruses constructed around a well-crafted song. Lee Bane's vocals are truly immense, delivering a pure yet haunting sound that has been layered and electronically adjusted to suit the band's current sound.
If you haven't yet heard this band, I strongly recommend picking up a copy of this E.P. The CD was released through the hard-working Changes One record label and is currently available through their website.
