Good Points: Seperate Bass and Treble Controls Very good bass response, without sounding boxey Very stylish speakers Friendly remote layout
Bad Points: Treble could be a little crisper No
General comments: I recently brought two of the Philips MCM7 model hifi. Unfortunately, both had to be returned to the retailer, as both had the same *fault* - certain CD tracks wouldn't be recognised!
Without buying a third, I can't be sure it is a fault, or just a poor lens used in the hifi, so be warned!
It is a great little hifi. Soundstaging is excellent, vocals are clear and pronounced, yet not shouty. Bass responsde is fantastic. With the speakers placed on the floor, slightly toed in from the rear wall (they're rear ported), you get real low end response, that isn't boxey and doesn't take over every other frequency.
I liked the fact there were Bass/Treble controls, with seven positions.
