Pulled this drive from an old business computer from one of my clients. Tested fine, and when it came time to build a stand-alone Windows 98SE Gaming platform just for Glide Games (3DFX) - I used this drive. Reads all the old CDs of Games I'd accumulated over the years, and plays those that require the CD in the Drive flawlessly. I have not used this with Windows XP, but it may have been used with Windows 2000 in its first life. It has the tabs on the side of the tray to allow the drive... (read more)

“My JLMS XJ-HD166s DVD drive turned out to be a waste...”

My JLMS XJ-HD166s DVD drive turned out to be a waste of money. It won't read any discs (CD or DVD), and Windows XP says it has no transfer rate! It has always made a few weird noises as it struggles to take information off the disc, but it finally gave up the ghost a couple of days ago. R.I.P. (read more)

The liteon 16xdvd-48xcd jlms xj-hd166s is a very fast dvd rom drive great for watching dvds and for ripping dvds its a 16x dvd and 48x cd rom you woulded think so its great i bought 2 off them just in case i cant get them agian and now my sister has got one and she loves it thanks to lite on and its only £28 its a good job i upgraded my samsung dvd i hated it (read more)
