Good Points: The Samsung P28 was great value and gave good service.
Bad Points: I bought two in Jan 2005. The first failed April 06 - Motherboard failure and the second failed in identical circumstances in April 07. The cost of repair is prohibitive c 330 for a new motherboard.
General comments: I would NOT buy another Samsung as they obviously have an inherent defect.

Cost of spares borders on prohibitive, and limited to just a couple of Samsung approved contractors.
The Motherboard failure looks like a common one to the P28.
I'll not have another Samsung

I bought the Samsung P28 LVC 340 at the end of November 2004, I have found it very nice to use and I am happy with it; I use it set up with two routes (at home, with home internet, etc. and then also at work on the campus network); it has been fine.
I had a Sony Vayo FX705 for 2 years before the screen died in November. Sony did not want to know (which reminds me of the person whose negative review I just read, saying 'Samsung didn't want to know': does anyone?)
Obviously this is a faster pr ...
