I have been viewing Star Trek Voyager from Tesco DVD Rental Seasons one - up to present season 6.( OK I was working abroad for the entire time the Voyager season was being aired on Terestrial TV ) Anyway, on the basis that I pay for a "next DVD on return of the previous one" they have been pretty good. However, I have encountered a problem that is too involved to go into in detail but basically ....They sent me one season dvd with the ending on a "part one " ( Unimatrix Zero One ) which was faulty and did not play and then they sent the next series (7) which started on "part two" ( Unimatrix Zero Two ) of the story before replacing the first part which was unwatchable. Problem was they never replaced part one so that I could at least understand part two.( you with me so far...because they are definitely not ) so its taken three weeks so far and THREE emails of this nature to them and it's still not resolved. They are fast gathering my chagrin, though they would not understand that word unless they were from the Delta Quadrant, they probably think Chagrins are aliens......well, believe me, they damn well are. I rest my case, Tesco/DVD/Film you are Zero.

All the DVD's are of very poor quality & U can be sure that every 2nd or 3rd DVD is unplayable. U do get a apology mail saying that they take quality very seriously & then again U can be sure that U'll get another unplayable DVD. I've been a member for around 6 months & so far got 6 DVD unplayable. Also their system is rubbish coz there are times U do get a DVD not in U'r list. It's sort of frustrating coz U have to write to them throught complaining about this & that.- Read shirlsgg12's review (91 words)

Tesco DVD Rental has a slow turnaround and the priority system seems to work in reverse, the disks you do want don't get sent out, the disks lowest in priority seem to find their way to the front of the queue.
Good response to reports of bad disks, unfortunately too many opportunities to find that out.
Random and unreliable.- Read Guest's review (59 words)

We have recently signed up to the 3 month free trial with Tesco DVD and I can safely say we will not be staying on with them after it expires. We send back the DVDs promptly but then do not get another one for about 5 days. We have not so far had any DVDs from the TV series we have asked for and whichever is the most random and unpopular DVD on our list is most surely the one they send out. Dreadful.- Read potato pizza's review (82 words)

We have been with Tesco DVD rental for over a year. At the beginning everything was perfect - fast delivery and high priority movies sent out first. However, this changed and now we have not received more than 7 movies a month altough we are on unlimited package. And they seem to forget our priority rating as well.....- Read Guest's review (57 words)

Having joined with Amazon and had no problems but since changing to Lovefilm I have had lots of problems with Lovefilm and now Tesco. Unauthourised billing from my account and late dvd's. My problems started when I tried to cancel.
Both Tesco and Lovefilm which are the same and seem to operate abroad in my opinion have been unhelpful I would give both a wide berth and definitely not recommend both of these.- Read djb1's review (74 words)

The service is terrible. I have sent titles back on a Wednesday and waited almost a week for the next title. Especially slow around the time payment date as I have been close to closing my account but until the title is acknowledged as received the account remains open. Surprisingly as soon as the payment is taken my title shows as received!
Never get a title marked high priority. Usually something so far down the list which is there to stop the stupid not enough titles email I get.

In these days of PVR's and on demand tv, what a step backwards for the online dvd rental market to go down the watch what we send you model. I am not talking about getting the latest dvd when it comes out, I am talking about being in control of your viewing. On Amazon I had every film I was interested in on my list. Just before I sent back my latest dvd I would look at the list and choose the next available dvd I wanted to watch.- Read Guest's review (100 words)

Slow delivery. Several times I've sent a DVD back and, despite having plenty of selections on the list, the website tells me "awaiting allocation" (one day lost). The next day I get an email message timed at after 23:00 telling me "Good news! We just posted..." - so that's now two days lost, to minimise their postage costs. Best of all, the service seemed to deteriorate after I signed up for three months up front rather than monthly credit card charges. Ethos seemed to be - customer's already pa ...- Read Guest's review (156 words)

Firstly, I should point out that, since some of these reviews were written management of Tesco DVD Rental has passed to the abominable LoveFilm. I've been a member since 2004 when it was powered by Video Island and have no doubt in my mind service has deteriorated since LoveFilm and it's Indian call centre came along.
Although I do receive DVDs the real trouble begins if one goes missing or is lost in the post (I have had five go missing this year, although I can't completely blame that on them ...- Read oxfordmale's review (150 words)

Probably been with Tesco 7+ months now at least, no longer much much longer probably a year or even more so... Cant even remember since I've never had to worry, ok so you don't always get every single priority dvd/game before lesser ones but its not the end of the world. This is a casual dvd/game list all of which you want to watch and play and others more so then others etc etc. Put them on the list and you get them when you get them. All make good watching and playing.. If there was a dvd I re ...- Read c4effect's review (272 words)

They started well but now its a waste have 2 discs unlimited as it takes them so long to turn them around, was getting 2 lots a week now only one a week. Will be leaving. Will go back to Amazon, Tesco should not have left it to Lovefilm- Read Guest's review (50 words)

Their customer service are very efficient in that you always get a prompt acknowledgment or reply regarding a complaint, but its all useless if the problem is not sorted out as far as I am concerned.- Read jeff1164's review (197 words)

I have had Tesco send me Blu-ray films that I had removed from my list months back, because it took them so long to send it to me I gave up and rented them from blockbuster. When I complained they were quite rude, insisting that I should check my DVD selection. This has happened twice now, so I have copied my list and e-mailed it to them for future proof.- Read Mike London's review (97 words)

I been using this for 3 months. The items in my list as priority haven't been sent in order I asked.
Changed my list on 9th January and an item was sent to me on 10th that was not on my list. Customer service was rude telling me it was on list. I only had HD and Blueray on list so I a startard DVD was not on it. It may have been in September but was removed a long long time ago. However customer service wanted to be shirty and rude and argue it was there but couldn't check my list from the 9th ...- Read evmk71's review (142 words)

I've been with Tesco dvd club for 10 months, the range of titles, website, speed of delivery and price is all great. However their customer service is POOR! If you call Tesco dvd club you get put through to call centre in abroad where they are reading off a script. I've received three email in the last 10 months telling me my membership is on hold as they can't collect the direct debit - there has always been funds in the account, this results in me having to talk to the customer 'care' team ...- Read Goldian's review (144 words)

Tesco DVD Rental is very poor and I would not recommend, poor customer service, basically if you don't have 50 dvd's on your list you are shoved to the bottom of the delay pile, they don't care for the customer, and they don't have a complaints department.
