“Amazon have killed LoveFilm”

I have been with LoveFilm for around 2 years. Subscribed to the 3 discs at home as well as the streaming. It was a superb service. Then Amazon took over. Now I struggle with the Amazon menu system. Often discs are offered that are not part of the subscription. This means for those not computer aware and used to the easy honest old LoveFilm system, now they will often find added costs to their bill. Have only given 1 star as its required for this review. Avoid lovefilm like the plague - they were poor before they joined amazon in that you rarely got what you wanted sent to you (this despite their impressive catalogue which was the only thing that kept me hanging on with them), but since joining with Amazon they've gone completely to pot- although my account with them is supposedly current, I haven't received any new discs for over a fortnight! “This used to be great but is now awful”

I have had lovefilm almost since it started with unlimited rentals with 2 disks at home at any one time. In that time we have seen hundreds of movies and apart from a few delays the service was great. Now that Amazon have taken over its all want to hell and now they want to charge for movies we've already subscribed to see. They appear to be deliberately killing off the postal titles to force you to use the streaming which has serious buffering issues. I will be cancelling my subscription asap… Read Full Review

I didn't know whether to join Netflix or Lovefilm - tried both and since Netflix don't do postal discs their selection is weak. Been with Lovefilm over a year, a typical week with no bank holiday's: I post back DVDs on Monday, new ones arrive Wednesday. I post back DVDs on Wednesday, new ones arrive Saturday. Only around 3 discs were unplayable after trying to clean them, no problem informed them and they sent out another asap. “DON'T SIGN UP!”

I would strongly recommend you don't sign up to Lovefilm! The condition of the DVD's is appalling; either grubby or damaged and unplayable. They don't bother contacting you to add more titles to your rental list, they just stop sending you anything. They also have issues of films not streaming properly on Talk Talk broadband. the instants package is far to limited what is on offer are at best cheap made for dvd films, the dvd the blue ray package had the films i wanted to watch but at 7.95 for one film a month is over priced one of the films i was interested could be purchased for a couple of pounds more and its mine, sorry lovefilm is poor i had to give it 1 star to write this review i also tried netflix and they was in the same league the 4th division, these two will be taking the blockbuster route if they dont… Read Full Review

There are many films you cannot find elsewhere and they have always sent the dvds straight away. I have only had 1 damaged dvd after 1 1/2 years. The the steaming works perfectly and never spends time buffering like many other online services. I have been a Lovefilm member for a few years now and the only downside sometimes is which film I get next. Even if I prioritise the ones I want to see first I'm not always guaranteed to get them. Although I do like the surprise factor when my next rental comes through the letterbox not knowing what is inside. “Lovefilm have sent me FOUR DAMAGED COPIES of the same film”

I used to think that Lovefilm were brilliant and recommended them ad nauseum to family and friends. However, their service really has got worse over recent months. In the first couple of years of membership, I don't remember receiving one faulty disc. I rang LoveFilm to complain about the exact same issue, to be told I should of recieved an e-mail on the 3/10/13 offering me a voucher to obtain a player that supports thier app. All sounds good, doesn't it, until you realise that its a SONY basic unit (i have an LG 3D player) . Why, if my whole entertianment system is LG would I want a SONY. Lovefilm must be getting somthing from SONY for this. I was told I would still have to use my LG to play 3D movies. I don't have room for 2 bluray players in the same unit, nor should I expect to keep changing them every time I wish to watch a 3D film. I have searched the net and this change in service has gone very much un-published to say the least. As a parting note their customer service team in one of the 3 calls I have made told me if I didn't like it just sell the SONY and buy what you want. What a crock of ..... Its now Monday 12th and still no e-mail. I have had an account for a long time, going to re-think this one now.

“Do not use lovefilm!”

Decided to do the 30 day trial, then cancelled before the end of the month due to the poor choice of films. 7 months later, I see on my bank statement that they have been charging me £4.99 every month. I can't believe I didn't see it! I never got a cancellation email, even after I cancelled it the second time. I feel completely robbed. Would not recommend this to anyone… Read Full Review

Sadly, I found so many of their DVDs would stick, and couldn't even be watched. It's so frustrating, when you're just getting into a film, and it sticks...you wait and maybe it will sort itself, then it does it again...and again, then eventually stops altogether. “No more games”

Can't believe lovefilm have stopped games at the height of their popularity and new gen of consoles released this year, as far as streaming Netflix is so much better, anyway decided to cancel my account so logged in and discovered you have to ring up to do it?
