I have had the same issues as everyone else on this review, can't cancel subscription online, call number, automated answer. I googled head office details and called too, looks like the rats have already deserted the sinking ship (no answer). So my advice to all of you is..... Clear your 'lists' of DVDs, make sure there are none, and then try and remove any saved cards (debit/credit) if you have purchased in the online store. Email them through the system telling them you wish to cancel, both your subscription and your registration (make sure you click the 'send yourself a copy 'option), and then call your bank and make sure they decline future requests for payment from Blockbuster.co.uk

I have been a member of Blockbuster online disc rental for about a year and it has offered a reasonable service. This is until the last 2 weeks. I have sent discs back and it still says they are out on rent. The other disc i chose as a topticket has been in processing for over a week and all it says in my list of 50 titles is 'Attempting to allocate stock'. I have emailed but no reply, I have called them but its just an automated voice saying they cannot deal with my call at this time. Its all a bit odd really, its like the place has shut down and been deserted. The staff I called at the local shop ( 20 miles away ) were pleasant but was unable to offer an answer as to where everyone has dissapeared to on the online rental section and headoffice. All the manager of the store could suggest is to stop the Direct Debit. COME ON BLOCKBUSTER, IF YOUR CLOSING FOR GOOD JUST TELL US!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am in exactly the same prediciment m8,I've been a member for a year and a half and not once have I been late with a payment. I had 1 game on rent and was waiting for 10 days for a top ticket to finish processing so I sent game back and it still says on rent and I can't cancel account or remove payment card from account-i have sent 10 e-mails without reply and the phone line says to e-mail instead! WHAT A JOKE! So I cleared my whole rental queue list (and they had the cheek to e-mail me to say i was low on choices to rent!) So I'm going to go into mybank to tell them not to pay blockbuster ever again. They are just ridiculous and where the hell is the customer service? I am really dissapointed in them.
But on the bright side of things, I have just signed up to boomerang.co.uk game rentals online and I had finished putting 5 games onto my list and within 2 minutes 1 was dispatched which I received next morning. So I would advise you to join them m8. Happy gaming!

Do not sign up. I cant believe trading standards have not stopped this national company from repeatedly scamming customers by not providing the service they advertise, not being able to contact via email or telephone and not having any control over how much and when they take your money despite cancelling subscription.

had problems the first time they went in adminstration, but now for the second time. That's it! if you cancel your subscription via your account. you can't, you are asked to phone a number. when you call a recorded voice says they can't take a call. Asked my bank to stop payments to blockbuster and hopefully this will work. Should have cancel after the first time they went bust.

I have been a member for approx. 2 months and things were going great until recently. Suddenly discs they have said they sent haven't arrived, discs I sent back haven't been taken off my list and to make it worse I have been waiting for a despatch for the last week. I've tried ringing them but get a not very helpful automated voicemail. I've tried emailing them and get no response. I called my local store and they advised me to call my bank to cancel any payments to Blockbuster Online because they thing the Rental is no more. They have come across as an absolute joke of a company. Certainly has all the traits of a dying company.

takes them 10 days to deliver items bought brands new, have not sent one game to me only movies, no email responses, customer services line is always not working, ordered preowned dredd and it came with out the bluray disc, ordered expendables 1 and came in expendables 2 case. took 3 payments off me instead of 1. robbing company, do not use. Not even the 14 day trial as you wont be able to call them to cancel!!!! i had to pay the post man in order to get my order as blockbuster didnt pay the delivery, what a croc of ****!

Blockbuster pay at the post office to send, all parcels are weighed and priced by the post office at the time of sending, it is physically impossible for them not to pay the postage. So that's the REAL croc here.
As for delays in postage, again, down to royal mail, once blockbuster post the items, then its out of their hands, they have kept their side of the bargain.
Duplicated payment: This happens, computers dont get everything right, and sometimes mistakes happen.
You CAN call them, you just have to use your brain & google for an alternative number, or ring a store who will try to help you!
Cases may have been switched if others were damaged, whoever picked the case may have been busy and got confused.
You saying you never made a mistake at work ?!
And its not possible to send bluray instead of DVD unless staff are stupid, their filing system doesnt allow it .. however if YOU click Bluray instead of DVD .. then I can see it happening.

The movie i bought on the 16th arrived on the 26th however movies i bought on the 23rd arrived the next day.
I have a receipt from the post office of me having to pay the rest of delivery on a bluray movie i bought from blockbuster.co.uk.
The store couldn't help as they are separate from the online store, i found an alternative number and they said the same however blockbuster are meant to be 100% online and stopping the customer service line permanently but they are having trouble updating the website and all emails were lost. I bought dredd 3d with 2d bluray and they only sent the 3d disc.
Its human nature to make mistakes but its incompetent to repeat them. On friday the customer service number was saying the are closed and open monday to friday until 5:30pm and the time was 4pm no mention of the online change anywhere.
Not one game from my list has arrived since joining, ive had to do the store swap in order to get the game i want (includes a 20 mile trip which has to be repeated every 5 days)
The expendable 2 case that came with the expendables 1 bluray is cracked and damaged. The marketplace is very poor quality even with the other preowned blurays ive ordered from them. However the brand new blurays are perfect.

I pre ordered GTA and should of had it a month ago yet still haven't received it, I've tried ringing them numerous times only to be kept on hold each time for between 10-20 mins before being cut off. I rung Blockbuster head office who informed me that it's not their problem and there's nothing they can do, i have emailed them several times over the last month but they are ignoring my emails. I'm shocked such a high profile company are scamming me so I now have to go to my bank to report them for fraudulently taking money from my account.

I've tried to contact Blockbuster customer service for the past week, they're not replying to my emails or answering the customer service line. This is regarding an item I bought with them and haven't received, they are very quick at taking money though. previously an item I bought from them shipped to me without the proper amount of stamps where I had to pay to get the item from the post office. Do Not Use This Company !!! Grant

I've started the 14 day online rental trial and I wasn't satisfied with the movie selection, nor the speed of delivery (watched 4 movies in total through 12 days). To cancel the service, I had to call a 0845 number and waited for 50 minutes(!!!) before a customer representative picked up. Because it was the last day of my subscription, they charged me for a next month without notyfying me and I wasnt able to cancel the payment. It's a trap of a dying company, so you all should beware before you even think of using Blockbuster Online services.

They don't have any games, the don't seem to have much in the way of movies either. Some of the movies selection is OK but it doesn't really matter because you aren't going to get them anyway. Cancelling was a pain in the bottom: You are required to phone (no email or online) them during Mon-Fri 9-5 even if you trial finishes on Sat/Sun. You are subjected to THE WORST holding noise (really it's just noise and static) for 20 minutes before eventually you can tell the person you want to cancel. This is no replacement for Lovefilm, neither is Boomberang, maybe nothing is but don't waste your time with Blockbuster, they will probably go bust soon and hopefully someone can manage them better once they get rid of their useless shops.

Same as others I joined blockbuster due to no more games rental at lovefilm, they seemed to offer more or less the same service in theory, but 5 days on I have yet to receive a game rental? It just says allocating stock lol, you think they would order extra stock for the extra influx of customers, hate their top ticket so you can be next in line then not lol in theory you could never receive the rental, it just makes me realise how epic lovefilms service was, to be honest I think blockbuster is a completly broken company that is in major trouble with money and is so far under stocked they can't full fill any orders of course they are going to take this opportunity to take people's money, account cancelled and just signed up with boomerang iam just hoping I actually get to play some games

I recently joined Blockbuster after leaving Lovefilm of several years. I have issues with the receiving any of the Top Tickets they offer, I add them to my selection and never receive? I have emailed several times and not once had a reply. The contact us link on their website has now disappeared, they must been fed up of people complaining. Not good seeing as only been with them a couple of months.

Have placed half a dozen orders from this company over the past few months all of which have been bought and sold as "new" direct from blockbuster.co.uk not the marketplace site. In place of new I was sent second hand, emailed to complain and they even had the cheek to ignore the email. I see this is common practice with the company now to send out 2nd hand in place of new per numerous comments on deal sites/gaming sites and sites in fact which comment on transactions involving the company. The membership can go and the company won't be getting service out of principal, the sooner the company and stores close the better.

I have recently joined Blockbuster after the announcement that Lovefilm are stopping games, and sadly Blockbuster seem to be the only place that offer both. In 3 weeks I have only received 3 discs, out of a total of 8 that have supposed to have been sent. The customer service never respond and this is costing me £10 a month for what is supposed to be unlimited rentals. I only wish Lovefilm would change their minds and keep games as their service was great, but I am a huge gamer. I like the options that Blockbuster have, and in theory, their service sounds great, it's just a shame that they don't seem to employ anyone to actually deliver it! I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt as the reviews for them at the start of the year were good, and I'm hoping they can deal with the uplift in members from people leaving lovefilm soon.

I agree - have had 10 games on Blockbuster list and have received no games in 4 weeks since joining. the movies have always been the older one - new releases no chance!

I've started a free trial with Boomerang games now, and stuck with Lovefilm. It costs a bit more but I'm officially fed up with Blockbuster now. I've had nothing reach me at all in the last 3 weeks! They keep saying they've sent them but I'm just not getting anything, and I've had no problems getting any Lovefilm stuff so it's got to be their issue.

i have £9.99 month unlimited DISCS,WHAT an absolute JOKE.I have been waiting 2WEEKS for new discs all i get is attempting to allocate STOCK.I have sent 8 MRSSAGES&£15 with on hold CALLS.THE customer services are non EXISTANT&A complete JOKE.I want to cancel my contract but it seems IMPOSSIBLE.SOMETHING should be done about it as they are taking my money for nothing in RETURN.A very fed UP&ANGRY CUSTOMER.MR adrian slack

If I could rate Blockbuster no star I would.This is by far the WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!! I have had several issues with scratched disk , movies not being sent and the WORST customer service. I have had 22 movies in Queue and none have been sent . The last time I received a movie was way back in May it is now the end of June. I have been promised issues would be taken care of, but nothing has ever been done even after calling corporate. I have now Joined NETFLIX put the same movies in my Queue and have received multiple moves one day later.Canceled Blockbuster and now have NETFLIX which has better customer service and they actually send movies to you to watch.DONT EVER GET BLOCKBUSTER BY MAIL.............

tried to order 1 blu ray for £2.99 and they wasn't able to take money so just one more time and still the same and then looked at my bank account and they have tried taking £21 out of my account. Shocking service never will us them again

Same here but me being stupid thought it was my debit card and tried another I trusted this site so I'd tried a couple more times and just got a message saying unable to take money off your card to cut it short we've now discovered blockbuster have taken money every time amounting to over £400 and I can't contact them to try and sort it out I'm ringing consumer direct to see if they can advise

"attempting to allocate stock" for 2 months!! after paying £35 in subscription costs! apparently they sent me "titles" but I never received them! then I get debt collection letters via email saying I owe money! Poor customer service, sat waiting on hold for hours! ended up sending a letter to the main offices, no reply, still receiving letters saying I owe money. Absolute joke, ended up going to Lovefilm.

Logged into my TopCashBack account and clicked the cashback button link to be taken to the Blockbuster.co.uk website. After being transferred to the Blockbuster.co.uk website, I ordered a PS3 game (which I received a few days later). Blockbuster confirmed my transaction with TopCashBack and my TopCashBack account showed I was due £2.00 cashback from Blockbuster.co.uk. This was back in November 2012. Now it is March 2013 and Blockbuster has decided not to honor my £2.00 cashback. And for that reason alone, I'm awarding Blockbuster with a 1 star rating. If Blockbuster cannot honor cashback they shouldn't sign up with a cashback scheme in the first place. I will never order from Blockbuster again.

Tried renting from Blockbuster and the dvds were unwatchable, or i would have to keep cleaning dvds just to stop them from skipping or to try and get them to play at all. Tried buying from Blockbuster online and all my orders were continously cancelled days later, even though they would claim to have the product 'in stock'. Tried buying instore and was informed the game i wanted was too badly damaged to purchase when i got to the sales area with it. Fair enough for informing me it wasnt good enough but why put it on the shelf in the first place?. The company is meant to have strict quality controls and assurances but puts broken and inferior products on the shelf? Tried to email Blockbuster using their online enquiry service, and never got a reply. Totally ignored. Does this company even care about customers? The brand seems outdated, poorly run, incompetent and ignorant. Poor,poor and just totally poor in everyway.
