    I recently joined Blockbuster. They have taken my monthly subscription but have not sent me any DVDs this month (I have a list of 42) and have not replied to my messages. Avoid like the plague.

    Customer service staff were rude and unhelpful to me - not the best topping on the 0845 customer services number.
    For a scratched disc, they claim to send a replacement in addition to your normal allocation but in fact until it is returned, it is still part of your allocation so it will count towards your total number of rentals. In other words if the disc is scratched it will still cost you a rental.

    There were a few things that really annoyed me with blockbuster.co.uk and in that respect Lovefilm offers a superior service.
    - Every discs needs to be returned in its own envelop unlike Lovefilm where its envelop can contain up to 3 discs. Furthermore you must keep the correct envelop for every film as well a return card associated with envelop. What if you misplace something?
    - My other concern is in regard with their cancellation policy. You can't cancel unless all their discs are returned ...

    I have blockbusters 3 dvd unlimited deal, and i couldn't be happier, quick dvd turn around very fast good service, all dvs on top of the list, never had any problems

    Blockbuster are slow at sending out titles, and they seem to have a very limited amount of copies of each DVD available. I found customer services seem to be unhelpful and unfriendly. In two weeks of free trial I have had only two dvds sent to me- when I complained I was told they are subject to availability- despite having 50 titles listed they reckon they were all out with other customers. I requested the free trial begin again - and got a flat refusal.

    Blockbuster have a good selection, good website, no separate genre for tv its mixed in with films.. the list system online is great and easy to use, well recommend blockbuster.co.uk.

    The first few months of subscription were fab. Received everything I wanted in the right order and very quickly, but after a few months it's gone downhill and the service is now very poor I feel. I have raised my concerns with them but I have heard nothing back! Therefore I do not recommend blockbuster.co.uk.

    I am surprised by some of the poor reviews about Blockbuster. I have found them to be an excellent provider and in many cases better than Lovefilm.

    While I am no longer a member (not because the service was bad, simply because I just wasn't watching enough films to warrant the fee), the period I was a subscriber I was never without a DVD.

    I think the thing that impressed me most about Blockbuster was how quickly titles would be turned around. No sooner had I returned them, I'd be notified that ...

    Wish they worked Saturdays and gave quicker turn around. Not as good a selection of movies as Lovefilm but less faulty ones delivered. Recommend Blockbuster.co.uk

    In my opinion, 80% of the discs I received had obviously not been cleaned for a long time and had a film of grease and dirt. 70% of the discs sent were visibly and obviously scuffed and scratched and would not play properly not matter how well cleaned. When I reported these I was told I had reported too many scratched or faulty discs and couldn't report any more, as far as I am concerned they failed to see the point that THEY had sent out too many badly scratched discs in my opinion, but seemed ...

    The automated system works efficiently and discs come fast. Delivery is well integrated with the web console. Unfortunately the discs are shabby and not checked for quality. I would guess that this is because a lot of these discs are ex-rental from the stores. I signed up to the other big online DVD rental company and almost all of there discs are in tip top condition.     At the beginning the service was amazing. I went for the 3 titles package and had a constant stream of top titles coming through my door. Forward on 2 months and you don't get any of your top 10 titles. As an example Peep Show 3 is still at number 2 in my list and has been since October 2006 (it's June 2007). Borat was there from the day of release and placed at my number 1 spot. Still no sign (I've actually bought it but I'm just waiting to see if they can hit the year mark for non delivery ...

    Although it is convenient to receive DVDs in the post, unless you like obscure and odd films, don't bother. You will wait over 6 months for the latest blockbuster film, and when it arrives it is likely to be scratched.

    They have loads of annoying money saving ideas, like waiting 24 hours after receiving your films before sending another. Or "not having enough stock" to send you anything at all. If it is not one thing it's another.

    I applied for the 3 week trial and the service was excellent. I received all the top chart DVD's I had put on my list, so I signed up fully. After that I received minimal DVD's, although I had over 50 at a time on my list. In the few months I was signed up I received 2 wrong DVD's and one damaged DVD. I eventually cancelled my Blockbuster DVD Rental subscription, and I was told to return my remaining disc before my next payment.     A great idea and fantastic service. Blockbuster are the only people to actually send out new releases close to release date, they turn discs round same day and have just as many older titles as everyone else. The site is by far the best for content and their reporting a faulty disc service is brilliant, really shows LOVEFiLM up. Works out at a couple of quid a rental for me and I never have to trek down to the local video store

    I have tried the other major online DVD rental companies. Apart from Blockbuster, they all fall down badly on turnaround time. Unexpected delays in getting new movies sent out plagued all of the other sites. Blockbuster has been, and continues to be the best. Content and website design are about the same for all, but I am getting around 50% more DVD's per month from Blockbuster.

    Excellent free trial, fast turnaround and top titles but not so after you join up. Slows to snails pace with 1 turnaround a week not always happening! Also no new titles sent only bottom of list stuff.
    Do not recommend.
