I've had my sorento for 3 years and 3 days before the warranty ran out the gearbox went. 2 teeth sheared off. Took it into dealers on the Saturday (warranty ran out on the Monday) showed them the problem and the service guy said to come back next week as the guy I needed wasn't in. Went back on the Tuesday to see the 'right' guy and he said it's too late, the warranty ran out last night. Even though the Saturday man remembered seeing me they refused to acknowledge that I had reported it to them before the warranty ran out. I wrote to Kia customer service weeks ago and have yet to receive either acknowledgement or any communication from them. I've really enjoyed the Sorento but the customer service is attrocious. This is my second Kia but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole now.

The Kia Sorento 2.5 CRDi XS is a fantastic all round car, I have driven all types of off road vehicles as I have a farm and big family who tour europe as often as we can.

This car allows us to travel in comfort with ease.

The kia dealership I purchased the car from have been immense wih any of my queries.

would have no problems recommending this car to anyone

I have owned my Kia since new on November 2006. Done 90,000 faultless Kms over all terrain. We do some serious 4WD offroad trips through bad roads, snow, ice and sand. The Kia travels as well as any 4WD I have driven and I am now thinking about replacing it with the new Sorento. Shame the new shape isn't here yat. Value for money nothing tops it

The Kia Sorento 2.5 CRDi X has a Cheap and gutsy diesel engine. Many standard features are optional for competitors.

More for less, quality and comfort, indifferent ride, handy features.

I bought a new Kia Sorento in Spain in September 2007. So far the car has done 26500kms, including a European tour. It is a comfortable tourer, as well as a competent cross country vehicle, coping with Spanish dirt roads effortlessly.

Apart from some minor complaints with the built in GPS, so far the only problem has been a small oil leak which appeared 2 weeks ago. The car is due for service in April and the leak will be assessed at that time.

I have found the dealership (a small, 2 man ...

I have owed a sorento 06 plate from new, great car, good fuel consumtion, nice smooth ride, it has been a great car UNTIL NOW gear box has just gone on it at 70,000. ten days left on the warrenty, so watch this space for an up date on how i get on with dealers and kia, as far as replacement is concerned, as a re-build is not an option in my opinion

I have a 2008 sorrento. I really like this vehicle. Great handling, nice ride, but firm truck like ladder suspension. The on the fly 4 wheel drive is great. I can't wait to get into this car and drive it each day. Great power too. Will pull 5000 pounds!
This SUV is the most underrated product on the marlet in its class.

Having just sold my ser 3 Disco I was very interested to have a look at the Kia. Would never go back to Landrover.
It will go anywhere the landrover would go and leaves the hummer 3 for dead.

Purchased new March 08, At 500 miles the manual gearbox developed noise from 5th to 4th gear and difficulty disengaging 1st gear. Repeatedly (5 times) took car back to dealer who kept it for a week each time and pronounced it cured each time, which it wasn ' t. Eventually began the process of rejecting the vehicle and was ignored by Kia UK and was treated with indifference and rudeness from dealer. Trading Standards suggested I strengthen my case by allowing another dealer to inspect the car. 2n ...

Bought the kia Sorento 2.5D XT approx 11 months ago (July 2007) the vehicle now is approx 2yrs 10 months old, just done 21,000 miles, over the last few weeks we have notice a bit of a chuging when pulling off and when idling, the car was due for a major service so booked it in to the Kia dealer in swansea where I purchased the car from, it was in for a day, and when I got it back it drove exactly the same, I was told the car had to come back in 7 days time, for an engine diagnostic check, (tues ...

Have I been unlucky or are just a poor car?
Problems gearbox, drive shafts, wind screen washer pump, brake discs replaced - all these done on waranttee (Lucky).
My fuel pump imploded at 42,000 and cause fuel contamination. Outside warantee I was hit with a £4000 repair to replace the whole fuel system. (Not so lucky).
Some Service agents give terrible service really had to shop around to get work done.
    Afraid I can't recommend!

I have owned my Kia Sorento XE for 4 years in May. Last month the engine siezed up because of no oil and i needed a replacement engine at a cost of £7350.
I asked Kia where the oil went because it was OK two weeks previously and i noticed no leaks. Also why didn`t the oil light come on to warn me.
Kia told me that they accept no responsibility because of the age of the car.
It`s not 5 years old till May and has only done 47000 miles.
I have written 2 letters of complaint to the Managing Di ...

I've had my Kia Sorento (2.5 CRDi XS) from new. I must confess as a previous BMW driver I initially struggled with the badge snobbery of the Kia and tried all I could to convince myself it was an BMW X5 that I "needed" - until I test drove the Sorento and realised for half the price of a used X5 I could get a brand new fully loaded Sorento. Besides the steering column requiring replacement (under warranty) it has performed well and is a comfortable drive (albeit the suspension could do with soft ...

I think that I'd buy another one especially if Kia sorted out their dealer network. Really powerful and you can fit a family of four plus a dog, plus four bikes on the back and a top box without noticing any difference in the drive!! Really!! It's fantastic. Nothing negative about the car but enough about the dealerships! Had my Sorrento serviced by different dealers and no one valets the car and they are generally quite 1970's about service - having owned 2 Audi's and a Saab I really notice th ...

I bought a new delivery mileage Sorrento 2.5D XE 14/07/07 from Retford Kia GK group. It has been back to both the sales and the service department (the ford garage down the road) 7 times (3 to sales, to get the work done!, and 4 to service) now for repairs to the power steering which "failed" on the day of collection. It has had an electrical part for the steering? A new power steering pump, and now a new steering rack. There was also a small scratch on the tailgate, which the sale team promised ...
