    Good Points: none


    Bad Points: the whole experience was a disgrace, any good jewllers would have never allowed this to happen.


    General comments: worst buy ever? out of 40 pounds travelling back and forward, still not resolved because they tell me the jeweller messed up two rings and they wont down size any more. Please read this before you buy from this company .this is the e mail i sent before being called in to pick up a very badly repaired ring then to be told after about 7 journeys into the store 3 to collect my new ring.I am contacting you regarding the disappointment and frustration you,s have caused me following the purchase of a half carat diamond solitaire ring priced £389.95 purchased on Wednesday the 3rd of June in one of your stores.I was informed by a member of staff that the ring would need to be resized ,however the manager assistant took over the sale and assured me he could order one threw "im sure"the head office to be picked up on Friday the 5th of June.I picked the ring up as agreed only to discover the ring was marked out of proportion and had no stamp .I returned the ring on Monday the 8th of June and was informed the ring had been resized and the stamp had been cut out also that the ring shouldn't have been brought down so many sizes causing it to be out of proportion. I was informed that there wasn't any of this ring in my size in stock as it was discontinued and i agreed to a resized replacement to be picked up on Wednesday 10th of June .When i collected the ring the assistant manager assured me he had checked the ring ,however again id been given a damaged ring .This time the stone appeared to be chipped.I returned the ring to the store today,the staff were lovely helpful and genuinely upset at what at happened .I agreed to a replacement ring, I also said i would except a repair with a discount , as i knew the ring was discontinued and that the stone from the ring i returned yesterday could be used to replace the damaged stone ,also it was the second ring that had been resized for me so it seemed like an easier and possibly quicker option. The staff had said they would need to phone the manager for him to authorise a replacement or repare . Unfortunately they couldn't get the manager on his phone. i waited for at least half an hour while they tried to get him. I then agreed to go pass some time and the staff assured me they would call me as soon as they spoke to him, this was at 10.45 am ,i was still wondering around trying to pass the time at 2.30 pm unfortunately the staff couldn't get him ,so i agreed to leave the ring with them and they said they would call me when they found out what was to happen.The manager called me himself apologised and asked me what he could do to put things right which i appreciated ,he told me he could possibly do a repair but couldn't really discount the ring much and could only give me say the equivalent of a staff discount because the ring was in the sale ,I wasn't aware the ring was on sale!.He assured me however that he could get me a replacement ring sent out from head office and it would be ready to be picked up on Saturday afternoon .I am now concerned and worried that the damaged ring i returned to day could be repaired and returned to me as my new replacement ring .I am sure this wouldnt be the case but i cant help but think i've been misled once already . I dont understand ,that if head office could have provided a replacement ring why didnt they do it before now ,I would now like it confirmed that my ring is being replaced as promised .
    What should have been a pleasurable expensive treat has turned into a never ending nightmare ,with no thought given to the inconvenience disruption and expense of returning to the store now 4 times and counting and at a cost of sixteen pounds in train fairs and parking.Im saddened and disappointed and would have expected some form of discount or some form of compensation for my troubles .I have purchased goods from your store on many occasions but would be reluctant to recommend you,s now or to do so again . Again i would like to thank the staff in the store for there help,I can appreciate their dilema today and could see that they were doing there best to put things right ,unfortunately it was out there hands but i appreciated there efforts.
    i never received the new ring i was promised.I was just asked to come and look at a repaired ring. what a mess. they rushed it away for yet another repair .I was told they would get me a replacement ring and would wait for authorisation ,i received a call saying they would give me my money back! i just wanted the ring i called head office to be told we cant waste any more rings but they said if the jeweller agreed he could down size the ring without damaging it they would do it .Then came the call the jeweller cant guarantee he can do it so you cant have a ring. i've been badly stung and never received an apology ,every business makes mistakes its how they rectify them that counts.

    Terrible service, the shop assistant said that the product had been roughly treated for the clasp to come off, because it is not soldered on, mainly why it came off in the first place. Totally disappointed with HPJ Jewellers and it's service.

    I bought two rings from HPJ Jewellers website. I got a superfast service and excellent communications. When the rings arrived I saw that they were not quite what I wanted. They were duly returned and my money was paid back to me no questions asked. The whole transactions were super smooth and super fast. A1 would highly recommend

    I bought a bracelet over the internet from HPJ Jewellers - it was sent to me within 2 days. I had it for about one month and one of the stones fell out. I phoned on the Tuesday (Monday was a bank holiday) was asked to post it and they would have a look at it. So posted it from my work recorded delivery on the Tuesday and had a call from Reception this morning (Thursday) to say that there was a package there for me. They had sent up a replacement bracelet.

    All my family and friends shop here and we have never had any problems or so called faulty goods. I have had everything from a Diamond ring to a D and G watch and an Armarni watch for my father-in-law. How can it be poor quality when they are selling designer branded goods too? With the credit crunch looming the prices of HPJ mean I can still treat myself and others to luxury items that we want and not make myself broke in the meantime. I recommend HPJ all the way! What more can a woman want?

    HPJ Jewellers didn't have the size I wanted so I ordered it in from Head Office... I was told initially it would be 1 week delivery, but it turned out to be 3 weeks. The ring didn't fit, as I was given the wrong measurement of my old ring... They could not offer me a different size, but kindly suggested that I pay extra to have it resized!!!! Already a Valentines gift 2 weeks late, I wasn't willing to pay out again...

    I bought a £500 ring for only £250. The diamond fell out within 24 hours and I have spent the past 3 years trying to get them to refund me or replace it. As you say, they won't communicate with you and refuse to admit any blame for their inferior products. I am currently working with Trading Standards to resolve this issue but so far it has cost me in having repairs done to the ring that do not work. Every time I have a repair it costs me £30 + P&P.     I'll always shop with HPJ Jewellers after the terrible service I had at H. Samuel. H. Samuel were farcical in their efforts to get the right size ring in stock for me. After 11 weeks of waiting I gave up and just took a look at HPJ for a bit of fun.

    WOW! They stocked an almost identical onyx signet ring I wanted, and they carried EVERY single size in store, so I bought it there and then and got it about 15% cheaper than Samuels. I love that ring! It's not expensive, but it just looks great on ...

    Myself and my husband went into the Preston branch last Sunday to buy a 1.25ct diamond cluster ring for £695.00.

    We had gone straight from his mothers house... where we were fitting a new kitchen... so we were dressed in jeans and jumpers... all clean on that morning though!

    Anyway... I was appalled at the way we were treated by the two girls behind the counter.

    I don't know whether they thought we were messing them about or what... but they didn't even want to get the ring out of the w ...

    I shop in the Bristol branch and can tell you the service I receive is second to none. The manager, even knows me by first name and has worked for Goldsmiths, H.Samuel, and Beaverbrooks and he tells me how these other so called 'posh' jewellers stick a stomach churning large margin on their jewellery and then prance about being snooty and superior when in fact ounce for ounce HPJ offer the best price on the high street.

    I decided to treat myself to a gorgeous Diamond Trilogy ring that had been reduced in their sale.

    I found the advisers at HPJ Jewellers to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable, giving me all the information I needed on Diamonds (colour and clarity grading etc).

    The size I required was ordered, and I was able to collect within a week.

    The whole transaction was very smooth and stress free.

    I will definitely be calling in to HPJ again in the near future!! ...

    I bought earrings as a birthday present for my Mum in HPJ Jewellers. The customer service was good and the earrings are lovely, excellent value for money. I will be shopping their again.

    I bought a pair of ear rings just before Christmas, and I asked for them boxed. At home I secretly I wrapped the presentation box in pretty paper, and on Christmas day my wife opened it to find NO EAR RINGS! HPJ Jewellers said to save time at Christmas, they just drop the goods and presentation separately in the plastic carrier bag.     I recently purchased a ring from HPJ Jewellers in Reading, after trawling around many high street jewellery stores, comparing prices. I found exactly what I was looking for at a great price. I found the staff welcoming and helpful and would happily shop there again.

    Like the prvious reviwer, I too bought a bracelet from HPJ. After two weeks, one side of the catch broke loose. I took it back expecting a replacement but was told that it looked like customer damage and would have to be sent away for appraisal.
    After two weeks of waiting they then told me that it would cost £7.50 to repair. I stressed that the bracelet had a similar catch on the other side which, with a lot of tugging and pulling, would not bend, let alone break. To me, it was a manufac ...
