Good Points: Some of the offers are quite good.

Bad Points: I found rude staff, intimidating, poor trade in prices

General comments: I'm not a typical gamer, I play a limited amount of Nintendo DS games and also play a limited amount of PC games so I can find this shop really intimidating. Normally you've got large groups of teenage boys hanging around making it hard to get around the shop and once you've found something you want to buy you take it to the till and are served by a grumpy sales assistant who would rather read some gaming magazine than serve the customers, they mumble the price at you, don't say please or thank you and then dump the change in your hand before going back to reading their magazine. It's not the kind of shop I'm at all comfortable in.

I think the prices they pay for trade in is poor and I've frequently got better money from Game. There was this one occasion though where I wanted to see if they'd do a trade-in on a game I bought for my cousin (Strawberry Shortcake) which she'd finished playing with and the sales assistant took one look at the game and said we won't trade this in. No sign of any politeness from them just a smirk. I took it to Game and got about £6 for it.

The only good thing I can say about this place is that they recentely did a buy one get one free deal on Pre-Owned PC Games which meant I could buy two Sims 1 Expansion Packs for about £4.

Gamestation is not bad but it has problems with the staff as some just are not really that friendly but it always depends on which store you go to up in my area there not polite. Staff in there do not seem they really want to make a sale it's more of throwing your change at you along with the item you just bought. It bugs me when i buy a new game not pre-owned and the disc is dirty and scratched when i have just payed £39.99 for it come on i expect the disc to be perfect and still in its w ...

Absolutely appalled. This shop might as well be called Dick Turpins.
Says It wont be beaten on price for trade ins? When I mentioned that Game had quoted me a cheaper price, I was told "Get proof" I did and went back with a written quote I was told "nothing we can do this price comes from head office."
This I may add is after they had taken my trade in on a game that was 2 weeks old cost £40 they give me £25 stating it was the best price I could get anywhere.
Also, at the time, t ...

More than a month before the Wii was due for launch, I was deciding where to order my Wii from. At that point, I stopped at one of their branches, where I spoke to a very friendly member of staff. I was told "order from us, we guarantee delivery on the release date, and as were a proper shop, if you have any complaints, you don't need to spend hours on the phone!".

Warp factor 9.95 to launch date, with me patiently waiting at the store. I hand my pre-order paper in, and after a few minutes of ...

Gamestation give you good service, good value for money, and good money for old, unwanted games and consoles, especially retro, e.g., NES, SNES SUPER NINTENDO, SEGA MEGADRIVE, SEGA SATURN and DREAMCAST, and if you want to play the old games from the old school days just go down to Gamestation.

Gamstation is the only place to visit if you want to trade your old games or buy new or second hand ones. Much cheaper prices than other stores (HMV, GAME etc). The trade in system is very fair and they will buy / part exchange almost any gaming items. They also have a great retro selection too and you can often find rare consoles and games from yesteryear at some bargain prices. The staff also seem to be true games fans and they always give trustworthy advice (rather than in Game, where they ap ...
