Clean Club, friendly staff, good range of equipment. Was a member for 4 years until relocation forced me to leave. Only wish there was a greens health club in North London

I currently use two Greens Club's due to my job; Chingford and Croydon. I find both to be clean, friendly and professional. They have a broad range of facilities that are generally in good working order. The team at both clubs are always friendly and on hand to help out. Pretty good value too. All good stuff in my opinion.

Marciasdad's Response to VKool's Review

Written on: 31/12/2009

I found this review not helpful because... VKool must only visit both gyms on a yearly basis after the gym has had it yearly clean. there is too much wrong for me to write a review but for example the sauna door handle was broken and replaced with string for 2 months when customers complained that the string was not hygienic, they changed the string for a piece of electrical wire VKool must work for Greens to have come to that opinion. the only thing they fix regularly is the subscription fee. All the decent staff have now left. I have had to complain on several occasions as there has been no pool attendant and disabled people have been in the pool. and even when they are in there you can usually find them asleep. All complaints go unanswered. but if you praise the service you get a response. (I tried this as an experiment)
<br/>The Gym was excellent when it first opened but has steadily gone down hill over the years. they do not employ enough quality cleaners to adequately clean the gym, changing rooms or pool area

I am somewhat bemused by the recent negative reviews of Greens in Croydon. I've been a member over two years now and find the staff and management a credit to the club. The team there are friendly and pay attention to you, the club is always clean and the equipment is well maintained. They are always re-investing and have just built a new strength gym to add to the two other gym areas.
I recently asked the manager if Greens would be able to offer anything for my son's school charity fair and he provided a years free membership!
All in all I have found Greens to be a great club. Try it and see for yourselves.

Stressedseller's Response to Ladylife1's Review

Written on: 05/07/2009

I am some what bemused at LadyLife's comment. As the review says try Greens out for yourselves. That way you too can appreciate what a hole this place is. Funny, if this gym is so great why are so many members leaving to go to Esporta or Virgin? The weights room that was so called invested in is just a room full of weights. Hardly costs a fortune to do that. Also when they cleared up space in the main gym when they added the weights room why did they not purchase further equipment? They do not invest in this gym, it is the only gym in Croydon not to have PowerPlates. Virgin Active is cheaper and much more modern / cleaner.

I have been going to various clubs for many years and Greens Health and Fitness is the best club that I have attended. What I find that is outstanding is that staff are very polite and take time out to talk to you, and the club is always clean. Keep up the good work.

written by CarolineandStaff on 23/06/2008

I joined Greens Health and Fitness in Liverpool over a year ago with my fiance in the run up to our wedding. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and there is an extensive range of BTS classes which are led competently and with humour. We were both given a full induction and recommendations for our personalised workouts were made. It does cost £81 per month for my partner and I on the flexi-plan, but this is because we are in full time employment and therefore have to go at peak times. People have complained about the cost and I am aware that I am on the highest tariff, but that's the way it is, I pay more tax than other people and don't receive benefits as I don't have children, a disability nor am I a pensioner. Such is life in Britain, seems unfair to me to single out Greens as if they are the only organisation who work this way, the whole country works this way! It is still cheaper than David Lloyd who wanted to charge us £130 for the two of us per month and all I really miss is the outdoor swimming pool. I certainly don't miss the 'aerobics bunnies' who work out with full make up on and their Chanel sunglasses balanced on their heads! Use the gym regularly and you will get your moneys worth. Otherwise, run round a park for free and do press ups in your living room!

The new Physio-Therm sauna is fantastic for injury recovery, and the pool hall has a relaxing ambience. Excellent value for money compared to other gyms in the area. Great club and would recommend it to anyone looking to get fit or simply relax.

written by Keatsy on 28/09/2006

I have been a member at Greens Health and Fitness in Croydon now for 11 months and have found it to be the best health club I have ever joined. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, the equipment is modern and very infrequently out of action. Cleanliness always seems to be a high priority, especially in the changing areas and poolside. There is an excellent choice of classes and a very professional beauty and hair salon. What stands out though is their pricing. Compared to Esporta and Holmes Place, Greens is extremely good value for money. I will remain a member for a long time!

I can't help but think that the username 'keatsy' is actually is the general manager of the place, as it is derived of his last name?

<br/>Greens is OK if you want basic, and is good value for money although classes are often either full or cancelled when you want them. There is no longer a bar or restaurant which is very dissappointing as the food used to be fab.
