Good Points: Opening hours and car park facility
Bad Points: Uncleanliness of facilities especialy changing area9 / 10 times no soap in the shower dispenserWeights very seldom put back after use, therefor you either have to go in search, or you have to unload the equipment before you train.Flooring: Health and safety, floor tiles either missing or partly secure to the actual floor.Equipment: some of the pully style equipmet broken / out of use.Running equipment, old.Staff: A lot of the experienced staff have moved on, new staff, smile a lot, have no or very little communication skills, some of the guys are constantly grooming themselves ( a budgy wouldnt have a look in, it would have to wait until the place closed before getting anywhere near.T.V. Channels: If your a fan of Childrens channels then you would enjoy this place.Music / Radio: If you like listening to radio presenters talking, rather than consistant music, again, this could be right up your street.
General comments: The gym I'm referring to is Lancaster, I'm I a nasty SOD for writing the above? , No I'm a patient respectful guy, I train at least 4 times per week and have been doing for the last two years, never late with my monthly payment of £42.50 per month. God help you if you forget your entrance pass more than three times,No entry will be granted, no negotiation, you either pay £5.00 entrance fee or pay for a new pass. Its not all bad, the gym at Preston, is very clean, friendly staff and the equipment is constantly updated ( value for money hear ).Downside, There are still a number of people who do not replace weights when finished with them.

Ive been a member of total fitness preston a short time now. But overall i am very happy with the place as a whole, It never seems to busy as it is so big and there are plenty of apparatus to go around. The changing rooms, Showers and pool are all impeccably tidy. And the trainer who set my programme up i found to be helpful and very knowledgeable.

I have used many different gyms over the years from private to council run. And the Total Fitness in Stoke offers a good allround facilities. Compared to some gyms in the area i would say it comes across as professional and clean, which is always a good starting point. I can't really comment on the staff or their experience, skills or knowledge as i tend to train on my own and get on with my own thing. The Membership Consultant was very friendly and went through contracts and everything in a ver ...

I have been part of castleknock gym for 2 years now and have loved every time i go there, i get a great workout and enjoy the classes because there on in the morning and evening which suits me perfect because i work odd hours, i think the staff are very nice and always have time for a chat going in and out. the showers are a bit grubby but not filthy like i have heard people saying, i am a health and hygiene freak and would not go there if they were like what some people are saying, i guess it c ...

Has lost its way. As a member of the Bolton Gym I am appalled by lack of customer service /interface. In the morning the same CD music is pumping out on instructions from head office, at high volumes whilst at the same time competing with the numerous TVs around the Gym. Very rarely do member see staff dealing with issues or managing the area.
With the exception of the changing room, cleaning is not a high priority ,plenty of clipboard carrying and ticking but much equipment and many areas ar ...

The staff are usually talking to their friends and do not supervise clients in their use of the gym. The gym music turns up at 5pm by another 50 decibels of dance music.Their are a growing number of personal trainers plying for trade. As far as I can tell all but one have no knowledge of safe and effective use of weights and cardio thoracic training. They are not vetted, do not have to show any prior training or experience and even more importantly are not supervised. Thus they can carry on pot ...

Total fitness has a recurring problem since I joined the gym, and that is every winter the shower temperature drops from what is usually luke warm to cold. Today I tried 6 showers before I found one which was warm, not hot. I and many others mention this every year to no avail. Managers are incapable of sorting this simple problem, let me give them a clue, when the weather gets cold, turn up the thermostat!
A second problem which annoys a great many members is the constant desire for the staff ...

If total fitness was ran on a more professional basis and all the facilities were working and running smoothly, I might re think my decision.

I have been attending Total Fitness for the last 3 and half years and I have never had a problem. The staff have always been friendly and courteous. Changing rooms are always attended and kept clean. I have 2 children ages 16 and 14 who have been attending for the past 2 years who have also enjoyed their time there. The classes for my children are ideal as it allows me to train myself whilst they are keeping active.
I would recommend this gym to anybody that is thinking of joining as it has g ...

Total Fitness in Sandyford, Dublin staff untrained in customer relations didn't seem to notice customers, there is usually four or five standing around entrance station customers are an inconvenience to their day while they walk around chatting and flirting with each other, i found that staff did not help if asked about use of machine. That's if you feel like going to entrance station to find one. Nobody seems to be in charge, no manager or a very bad one who does not know how to instruct.

I have been a member at Total Fitness since it opened in this area so I have seen it go into decline. Come on Total Fitness don't abrogate your responsibility by blaming local staff, the management of these facilities it is your responsibility to ensure training programmes are in place to guarantee the delivery of a first class product to your customers. Sort this out or like many others I will vote with my feet!

I've only been a Total Fitness member for a short time, but the place makes me feel as if I'm on holiday when I'm there (a bit like going to Centre Parcs). The pools in particular are clean, warm, well staffed and the hydrotherapy pool, steam, sauna etc. are first class.
Recommended by me especially for the cheap rates for over 55s.

Can't fault Total Fitness. Everything is so clean, relaxed and accessible.
Child friendly, good for fit gym bunnies and the easily intimidated novice. Everybody fits in and feels at home in this some what luxurious gym.
The range of equipment is huge, well maintained and upto date.
The pools are bright, airy, clean and well staffed.
The staff themselves really make this fabulous gym - the very best!
Keep up the good work guys!

I've been a member of Total Fitness for nearly a year and it's an excellent gym. The main drawback is that it ain't cheap - I pay over £40 a month so I would only recommend it if you think you will get your money's worth. If you are intent on using it though then it is definitely a gym I recommend - loads of equipment, great sauna, jacuzzi & swimming pool, good changing facilities and state of the art facilities. I have only visited my local Total Fitness (Handforth) so obviously I cannot ...

Total Fitness:
We found the sauna, steam room and pool to be regularly out of use.
When we complained we eventually got an automated letter saying that it was in our contract to have to pay for such things because they were deemed as necessary maintenance. The manager just didn't give a damn about our complaint and virtually suggested we cancel our membership.
