The gym is great, however Wilmslow Total fitness has one of the coldest swimming pools I have ever used, its takes ones breath away. Not sure I will be renewing my membership next year.

I am a member at Total Fitness in Wilmslow, I have never even been offered a gym induction, the sales staff were less than interested until I said I was going to join and then have proceeded to ignore every question since, the gym itself is a mess, dirt and sweat everywhere with people leaving weights lying around, The classes are never on and the "bodybuilders" think they own the entire club! when my membership si up I am definetly joining another gym....- Read Guest's review (83 words)

I am due to renew my membership next week at Lincoln Total Fitness, for £423.50 which is described as a 'loyalty' rate. I was upset to see that prospective new members can join for 12 months for £325 at the moment. I don't feel that I am being rewarded for my loyalty at all :-(
I am looking around for another gym at the moment as I have not been happy with my experience at Lincoln. I have been a member there for 5 years and have seen a gradual decline in standards. When it was first ...- Read Guest's review (264 words)

As a long standing members of Chester Total Fitness i am delighted with the improvements made recently for kids and young people at the Chester club.
Fab freebie day to launch it all with lots going on - my 2 had a great day. Well worth a visit if you see a fun day advertised - BBQ bouncy castle face painting and a free goody bag for kids. Oh and free kids meal with full paying adult meal.
Great value for money gym membership - occupies the kids so i work out in peace!

I was a memeber of total fitness in Crewe for three year and finally gave up in digust and handed back my membership cards today. The gym in Dirty and poorly maintained. I would not recommend the children's sessions as we have had lots of problems with them skimping on the number of staff and thier training, often the kids are not supervised properly and ratios are not maintained, they have lost my trust and I wouldn't recommend it to family's- Read andrewrob2002's review (81 words)

I find that my Total Fitness Gym is clean and frendly. There is always ready access to machines and the atmosphere is very good. Lets face it, us fatties need to motivate ourselves somehow.- Read nicklillie's review (78 words)

I have been a member of Total Fitness in Liverpool for a little over a year now, and I have found the staff to be helpful and the facilities to be perfect for my needs. While it is true that you can get some serious gym bunnies in the gym, there are also plenty of part-timers like me who are just there to keep fit.- Read Guest's review (65 words)

I joined the Total Fitness Prenton gym a year ago. It seemed ok then but it has become very run down. Whoever cleans appears to just brush dust and bits into corners. The padding on the equipment has split and this can rub on your arms and legs when working out. The water bottle holders on the equipment are full of dust and bits of bottle tops (even chewy) etc.
I used the pool area for the first time recently and the hydrotherapy pool was too cool to stay in for long. The whole pool area wa ...- Read Call09's review (274 words)

Total Fitness is great if you have kids between 3 & over as they can play while you train & there's good free classes for them too. I've been a member of several gyms over past 10yrs including David Lloyd, Fitness First & Esporta and I think this seems really dirty in comparison, am sick of complaining about it to staff.- Read Guest's review (57 words)

I have been a member of Total Fitness for several years and yes like the rest of the people commenting on their performance I have been very critical of them but then if you look at reviews for other clubs Total Fitness comes out very well. That ' s not to say we don't want improvements.
This last year they made a huge investment in the Bolton Gym and I have to say its much better but its always those niggling things like the steam room or hydrotherapy pool not working sometimes, cold shower ...- Read Guest's review (168 words)

I've been a member of Total Fitness for maybe 5 or more years now, first at Walkden and latterly at Wakefield. I've also used their gyms at Preston, Stafford and Huddersfield. There is a good deal of variation between branches. Walkden was one of the first and was looking tired by the time I last used it (in mid 2007), though it may have had a makeover in that time for all I know. Wakefield is not too bad, though there are persistent problems with some of the studio equipment, such as the head m ...- Read Woodie09's review (496 words)

I have left now (although they have kept taking my monthly payments) as I discovered that the council gyms have much more up to date equipment and cost a fraction of the price.- Read Guest's review (94 words)

Not value for money - they don't have much that a council run gym doesn't have. Meat heads would leave lockers with their own personal locks on 24/7 and come into the Edge lane gym only to get stuff out of their lockers, then leave the building and repeat this behaviour 2 or 3 times an hour until management were forced to take the locks off lockers after a police inquiry. Exercise machines, steam room, solarium and other equipement would break and they would take ages to fix them. Staff didn't s ...- Read Guest's review (129 words)

Unhelpful Medical Director who promised the earth but did nothing from what have seen. The gym is clean but there is no proper access for disabled people, and there are no poolside changing facilities for disbled people.- Read jeannieb's review (37 words)

Total Fitness is a great place for rehabilitation. Their 3 pools are excellent. Hydrotherapy is great for pain management and has saved me a fortune in physiotherapy bills. Good saunas, steam room etc too. Gym is spacious and never have to wait for machines. Staff friendly but not in your face.
They do have to wait for people to come from England to fix Irish gyms. I still give them top marks though. Of all the gyms I've been a member of this is the only one I've renewed - I'm in my third year ...- Read Guest's review (105 words)

I like going to this gym (Total Fitness - Prenton) as it is large and has lots of equipment, so it rarely gets too busy.
On the down side, is the high level of broken equipment, general cleanliness, poor induction and plan, and if you are intimidated by gym bunny meat heads, this might not be the place for you, there's many of them.- Read Guest's review (81 words)

The old unprotected padding, free weights used in Whitefield, needs to be desperate updated with what ' s out now on the market, as they damage your hands and fingers for weeks " health and safety should be notified- Read Guest's review (38 words)
