This car is now 32 years old and has led a pampered life almost entirely indoors, so is in near-new condition. It looks refreshing after being accustomed to what appears before me on the roads in 2023. These cars were basic, lightweight and with little refinement when they were introduced, and now it feels like a go-cart compared to anything else. Mechanically it inspires great confidence in its durability and simplicity. The light weight means that suspension, brake and steering hardware have it easy. Most of the parts on this car are original, with only belts and tires being replaced. It has about 155,000 km which is just under 100,000 miles. If this car wasn't so rare and special, I would have no problem with using it as a commuter or for long distance jaunts. Aside from the great reliability, it returns 5.5L/100km consistently which is better than most modern vehicles 30 years later ... considering the performance, a respectable performance/economy combination even by today's standards for a gas-powered car.

The Suzuki Swift GTi a great little motor car I've had to put some wheel bearings on it but apart from that is sound. The car has after market air filter piper cross which is terrible ! Full stainless exhaust, lowered, alloys 15" tsw, up rated discs and pads and next for me is nos or a chip !!!!

I have owned my Suzuki Swift for about 4 months now after buying it of a mate for £200. I then spent a further £600 getting it on the road. Then added a induction kit, Eco Tek valve, super chip, adustable rev limiter and 15inch alloys. I didn't know what to expect from the Swifts performance, I got told that they go like hell but I didn't believe at first until I took it for a spin. You forget that it's only a 1.3. after 3000 revs it really pulls all the way up to 8000! and with a top speed of 123mph you can't complain. 1 of my mates owns a Clio 1.6 16 valve new shape, Swift blows that off. Another 1 of my mates has a 205 1.6 GTi, Swift beats that n all. You really don't know what these go like till you go in 1. And best of all it's Japanese so reliability is not a problem not like the French cars out there. I'd recommend a Swift GTi to anyone.

The Suzuki Swift GTI is the best car ive had so far. I've had mine super chipped, id recomend it as i have now got a 0-60 time of 7.5secs. I would say you should only go as big as 15" alloys to keep performance up and so you get no scrubbing. I can beat all my mates vtr's and beat my mates 106 gti out off the lights (he beats me on topend though but who needs that). So if you own a vtr or 106 BEWARE OF THE SWIFT GTI!

Hello! I am Miltos from Greece. The Suzuki Swift GTI is a great, fast and reliable car, with a lot of potential! Much better overall and faster than my brother's Peugeot 106 GTI! My car is almost perfect now with modified suspension and racing air filter.

I just love my Suzuki Swift GTI! I've got a slightly modified one with a full-flow exhaust, a sports airfilter and racing shocks and springs. I've never driven a car that handles as well as it both on and of tarmac and in snow, the handling however could have been better in snow and on gravel since It's Just a FF car.

The Suzuki Swift GTI car looks great and has the speed to go with it. i have not found a quicker 1.3 which is non turbo. this car will quite easily keep up with 1600's and even some 1800's. especially when you add nitrous oxide!!!

Hey george, there are a number of small modifications you can do including bigger throttle body, uprated racing cam shafts and the famous nitrous oxide.
<br>This for me was the cheapest and fastest modification, it increased the power to 140bhp!the gas was a 32.5bhp increase. I recommend NO more than this!!! The website i used was www.dynopower.freeserve.co.uk/nitrous_oxide/

I've got a 1991 import bought it 3 yrs ago for £2000. It drove like a dream until one day 15/12/01 in the icy wet country lane, I had a premonition on a corner I had taken fifty times before it was on the way to the gym, as I slowed down and slip, slip there she goes in a tree then another I was only doing 30 or less you know I would normally take it at 35 plus, but to day 2 yrs later 23/10/03 I have her back on the road she don’t drive the same but she is still a wicked little beaut......

These cars are quick and I did race 1 till I got lost. I was leaving a cruise in the city centre and I was driving a 112bhp 1.6 16v Tigra at the time when I saw a gti swift heading off along side a rover metro gti. So I started to race them both. I passed the metro gti at about 90mph the swift gti was pushin hard up to 110mph I was side by side I couldn't believe the car was this quick. My tigra only had 112bhp but mine was very good at top end.120mph this car was still with me I couldn't believe it and he had 2 people in the car. 125mph I started to leave him, at 130 I could see his car never had the power at that speed that I had and he flashed me and turned off. As for the metro gti I wasn't impressed as I had one and know that it too is very fast, must have been a replica!? I really like the swift gti it's very quick pushed my heavy 1.6 Tigra to the limits. If it was just the driver inside the swift he would of kept up for longer. I don't think the engine was heavily modified and think that for a 1.3 16v with no turbo pushing 120mph with 3 adults with ease is amazing very good cars. Also goes to show that it's not always the size of the engine 1.3 that is probabley just 10-15mph slower top end than a 1.6 ecotec and can easily leave it 0-60 by about 1second or more and is cheaper to run and insure.
