    Brutal. They say they care about people, but they only care about money.
    The recruiters might be personable and seem caring, but dont be fooled. They see you as cash cows, comodities to be bought and sold. Don't hold them personally responsible, it is the system that is flawed. Upper management is seriously shady, they fire people without merrit and without heart. Brutal Brutal Brutal.

    Hays is a nasty unpleasant organisation to deal with if they can be judged by some of the people who work for them as "consultants".

    They seem to go out of their way to ignore candidates, and invariably, when one applies to them, they haven't got your details at all; 9 times out of 10 it seems to me that they can't be bothered to return calls.

    They have, in my opinion, all the use of a cockroach and should be treated like one.

    Hays asked me to sign contract with 20% less money than agreed.

    I have been working as a contractor for some time and had registered with Hays Accountancy in Preston. They placed me in very basic jobs and when an assignment finished, they weren't bothering to find me anything else, even though I had excellent references and was reliable.I was not called about jobs on the website and when I called them, my consultant was very rude and nasty to me. She also told me not to email her because she didn't have time to read them! A disgrace. I informed another staff ...

    I am a contractor and my company unfortunately uses Hays to manage all contractors and none of us have received anything other than abysmal service from Hays. They never manage to arrange renewals on time (sometimes taking 2 months to sort out the paperwork for the renewal). Last time I got renewed there were literally 5 things that Hays messed up on with the new contract and each one then delayed me getting paid by months.     I registered with Hays on the promise of lots of work coming up. I waited something like 8 months before they found me a position, paying less than the staff employed by the company, even though I was better qualified. Reluctantly gave me 30p an hour from their "cut", although I found out they were adding 40% on my hourly rate - not a bad wee wedge...

    They could never get me work at my level, always two or so below, and they always were incredulous when I said "NO". Wouldn't recommend them, ...

    I have over many years worked as a temporary for Hays recruitment and in the past when paper timesheets were issued I had no problems, until now when I am going through what can only be described as a 'Nightmare', trying to get paid for work done two weeks ago for them with the new online comensura system.
    I was constantly told that I had a password to go on-line and enter my timesheet...15 e-mails later to explain that it was not me and the password did not work I was given another that finally ...

    I sent my CV to Hays in Hereford 18 months ago. When I found work elsewhere I rang to let them know and asked to have my information taken off their Database. I have just rung to enquire about a post they have advertised to discover they are still holding my personal information. Is this company policy?

    I am dealing with a certain consultant in Hays. To say they seem abrupt and rude is an understatement.
    I applied for a position advertised and they appeared rude to me on the phone. Told me they had no positions available at the moment. I went on their website and there was several positions available. Emailed the consultant about this to be told, all positions were filled. Surely this is false advertising on their web page?

    Hays social care in Manchester is no doubt the best group of consultants i have ever dealt with. From the word go they have been helpful, pleasent and informative and have made my experience personal where i am sure they have hundreds of candidates. They paid for my crb and kept in contact througout the whole process. They also have an out of hours number if you need them urgently. I would never use any other agency. I could not say a bad word about the consultants in Hays social care Manchester

    I found Hays to be most helpful. Their service was very professional and my consultant kept me regularly informed of new jobs. She listened carefully to my needs and brought lots of new opportunities to me. I would highly recommend using Hays Accountancy and Finance.

    Disappointing service from Hayes Montrose [Slough branch] although work is tight I doubt I would work for them again. I don't think it's worth the hassle for what they pay me.

    I applied for a job working for Hays. I wasn't qualified for that specific job, but I was told they would be able to help me find something suitable. They sent out the reference forms, and I know for a fact my manager sent it back, but Hays claim they never received anything. I was told the only reason I didn't hear anything was because they didn't get the references back. They didn't offer to chase anything up, I feel they should have called me and I would have done it for them. So she said she ...

    Good consultant, good job - although a little below the market rate for the role. Payroll department seem unable to put payments through on time. My first pay check is 2 weeks late!

    I had an excellent recent experience with the Hays Accountancy and Finance office in Canterbury. My consultant kept in regular contact and quickly helped me find a permanent Accounts Assistant role, meeting all the requirements I had set at interview. At no point did I feel unimportant and forgotten about and have been impressed with the honesty of the consultants there.     Have never had such a bad experience with agencies before, but this one lived up to what I have heard other people complaining about! Terrible.

    At offer stage she never returned any of my calls. She promised to call back within half an hour then I didn't hear back at all (on several occasions). Waited days wondering what was going on. She swore blind my contract had been posted, which transpired to be an outright lie.

    Hays to be the most professional and courteous agency to deal with. Their communication lines were excellent and they kept in almost constant dialog from day one up until I secured a new role. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Hays.

    I was aware of Hays' reputation as very professional, both Consultants that I registered with, were very supportive & highly committed in helping with my decision to relocate to London. Through Hays' vast network of employers they offered me the very best jobs that suited my professional skills. My experience with Hays has been an outstanding one, not only have I found a very promising job, but also in only a brief time.

    Both Hays Consultants that I registered with were very supportive and highly committed in helping me with my decision to relocate to London. Through Hays vast network of employers they offered me the very best jobs that suited my professional skills.

    My experience with Hays has been an outstanding one. Not only have i found a very promising job, but in only a brief time.

    'A vacancy arose because of a quick turnaround requirement for a new client. The correct person for role had to evidence the right experience and industry knowledge to ensure an immediate hand over of an outsourced client function.

    Hays is based in the correct location to be able to resource staff locally where other agencies could not provide the same, given the short timeframe under consideration. I was presented with appropriate candidates that matched the specialist nature of the role.
