Good Points: Works well on home PC
Bad Points: Did not install correctly - I could not uninstall it - wants to take over despite not installing correctly - experienced a lack of response from support.
General comments: Installed SPAMfighter at home and it works quite well, but does have a tendency to freeze and lock-up.
HOWEVER, on my work PC it is a complete nightmare.
It did not install correctly - it asked for permission to pass the firewall, and then stated that it had connected to the SpamFighter server, but then it told me that I was not connected to the internet and I could not therefore supply an email address to register. As a result of this it said that the subscription had expired. It would not allow an uninstall, either from its own uninstall facility, or from the control panel add/remove programs facility. It sat in Outlook Express and just kept popping up with the initial registration wizard telling me that it was connected to the server but that I was not connected to the internet. This happened every time I used Outlook Express - even clicking on send and receive would make the wizard pop up - I found it annoying in the extreme and such a waste of time. It behaved like a trainee virus trying to annoy the hell out of me.
I emailed SUPPORT six days ago and have not received a response yet.
I have now managed to forcibly uninstall SpamFighter with a program called Perfect Uninstall - but that was the only uninstall software that I could find that would touch it, many others failed.
Impossible to recommend due to its seemingly unreliable behaviour and apparent lack of help from anyone in support.

Ease of use, clear view, Rating this trial as 'good'. Not 'bad' as such but need to read the instructions or missing out on functions, for now I well recommend Spam Fighter APS.

I feel I have an ongoing problem that has not yet been solved with SPAM fighter as far as I am concerned - in end gave up & asked for refund. Check it out - "we don't refund - you had your chance to see if you liked it during the free trial" as far as I am aware therefore I do not recommend APS Spamfighter software.

I tried a couple of other SPAM filter programs before SPAMFIGHTER.
They were generally more difficult to use and set up. Many involved having to go through e-mails and indicate if the mail was Good or SPAM.
They were also picking up valid e-mails as SPAM.
With SPAMFIGHTER I found that it involved very little effort to use, and it is more reliable at spotting real SPAM, and not blocking my true e-mails. So far 100% accurate.
I still scan my SPAMFIGHTER folder to check if it really is SPAM, bu ...

I have just installed this free programme on my home PC and my wife's notebook. It picked up every item of spam on our Outlook Express incoming mail. I was then able to look through the list of items in the spam folder and delete the lot in one go. What a relief after months of fiddling around with OE message rules etc.
Also nice to think that when an item of spam doesn't get picked up and I report it - it will be picked up from then on.
I fully support the previous reviewer who has declined to ...

I would love to use a program like Spam fighter if it would work with the way I use my computer. I am not going to change my email program to use it. Spamfighter does not work with outlook express.

A previous review stated that it slows Outlook Express. I have a Pentium M chip and 1 GB of RAM. I have noticed NO affect on the speed of OE. IF, after more time, I find it does not work as well as I think, I will amend my review. I also do not need the PRO version ($29.95), but offered the company $10 for the free version just because I am so pleased so far. Now I can leave home for a few days and not worry about finding 200 spam mails upon return.

As stated above, the program is very good if you receive a small amount of emails, but as soon as you try to download a large number of emails (say 1000+), there are several error that cause the program AND Outlook to crash. After taking a vacation I had to download 50,000 emails to my computer, and SPAM Fighter crashed 5 times during this process. In the end, I uninstalled SPAM Fighter, downloaded my emails and reinstalled.
I really think they should send back the money I spent on this, as ...

I tried several better known names before settling for SPAMfighter. In my humble opinion the free version is actually good enough for most people but I subscribed because I am, strictly speaking, a business (and anyway if I like software I like to pay for it - I am weird like that).
Value for money rating given is for the free version; the paid for version isn't justified for most people so would score very low - I didn't score this because it would punish SPAMfighter for providing so much for ...
