This little car is simply amazing. The drive, the reliability and the comfort are all outstanding. 50-70 MPG on all journeys is remarkable, considering the power available. The Fabia vRS is also extremely practical. There's loads of leg room, tons of boot space and having 5 doors means it's suitable for carrying family or friends. It's very difficult to find fault with this car, considering the great value for money it offers, particularly when compared to its class rivals. I am one very… Read Full Review

I have owend this for 2 years and the performance is excelletn but the build quality lacking.. Plus points: cheap to run and tax, mpg i get is easily 58 looks sublte yet will leave many sporty cars i the shade 0-60 is ok but in gear acceleration using 3,4,5 gears is AMAZING and close to that of serious sports cars. I've never been a badge-snob so was very keen on the Skoda Fabia vRS when in first appeared in 2003. I was smitten and bought a brand-new Black-Magic vRS in Sept 2004 and was astounded!! There hasn't been a small car since that offers this amazing blend of value, performance, economy and practicality. Its understated but brutish appearance is perfectly to my taste and despite working in the car design and manufacturing industry (and experiencing many other cars from many different… Read Full Review

I have driven all kinds of cars and have been a long term Audi fan. My wife has had three Octavia TDi's, all of them faultless as main family car. However, I have given up my beloved 4 rings for a Fabia VRS 1.9TDi Special Edition and I am gobsmacked! I cannot get my head round what a superb car this is. Even with the special paint, leather interior and all the gadgets, it's still pretty understated. I know many people still can't see past the badge but those days are long gone. Having been familiar with vw's tdi engined company cars for many years,i was looking for a vehicle on a budget that had similar performance as golf gti/focus 1.9tdci. I purchased a black fabia vrs with 19000 miles from a car supermarket and found it a fantastic allrounder , hot hatch, tourer, family, city car all in one. With minimalist styling and no tacky body kits (vrx/st's/evo's) i would recommend this car to anybody no matter what age. Great value for money, couldn't find any other car that's… Read Full Review

Car is quick on acceleration. 4 doors are a plus if comparing to another hot-hatch where 2 doors can be a pain. Car can be chipped to improve acceleration but not top speed (told by chip people). I have had 2 Fabia vRS's now, a 2003 model when it first came out and now a 2007 special edition. I can say the performance, it is without doubt excellent. The reason why the Fabia vRs got such a bad write up when it came out in 2003 was basically it was still fashionable to poke fun at Skoda and the concept of putting a diesel into a hot hatch was too much for most people to understand; however a lot has changed since then and most manufactures now offer a "hot" diesel car and like it or not… Read Full Review

I bought my Fabia vRS new in August '05 and have covered 25,000 trouble free miles since then. The excellent 1.9 PD TDi engine has never let me down and it is quite refined over long distances. You do get a fair bit of diesel clatter about town though, but this is forgivable as the engine is so strong once on the open road. Cabin storage space is quite good once you discover all of the storage shelves and compartments and with the rear seats folded it has impressive and easy to load luggage… Read Full Review

I've had the Skoda Fabia now for nearly five months and have done 9500 miles. I tend to drive quite a bit and wanted a decent diesel car which would handle the miles. And that's excatly what the car does and so much more. For the price you'd be very very hard pushed to find anything as tooled up as the Fabia Vrs, such a great price for such a solid little car. I had to get it in black as it looks the business and any other colour just wouldn't have been the same. When it's clean and waxed it… Read Full Review

It has lots of the usual bits and bobs you find on new cars these days, and nothing too fancy that just puts the price up.

I have tuned the engine to over 200 bhp with 370 lbs/ft of torque the car looks no different but scares everyone at the traffic lights which never gets tired!!! The Skoda Fabia a truly brilliant car. Much bigger in character inside than it would appear, it performs on all fronts being quick (particularly mid-range) yet frugal (50+mpg easily achievable) and supremely confortable. In short it is the 'rational consumers' choice having 5 doors, ABS disc brakes all round, aircon, sports seats and RDS CD radio and being very easy on the pocket whilst always providing a smile. The torque from the diesel engine makes this car a pleasure to drive in the real… Read Full Review

Economy is up to 68mpg when driven gently on a run.
I find the comfort first class and the build quality is 100%. This car weighs almost the same as a laguna. Enough said.

After having the Skoda Fabia vRS 1.9 TDI PD car for about 5 months now, it has realy suprised me as to what this small hatch can achive.
The power output from the engine is fantastic and it has great acceleration through the gears, (many an impatient BMW owner has been blown away).
The turbo reaches the boost pressure at a low 1900rpm so it's like being hit by a wrecking ball up the back.
