    Good Points: Style and easy to use


    Bad Points: Noisy unit in low operations


    General comments: Overall a good unit for any small bedroom or room.

    It pumps out very cold air, and it is easy to set, ie. timers, remote. I have had it running for two summers now, in a large open plan house, and I have had no problems. The auto pump of water is a brilliant feature of the Hotpoint Mac 130 air conditioning unit, and a must.

    Ducting is not of good quality, and it needs to be insulated as it radiates heat. The plastic window setup is cheap and nasty. The window attachment has too much flex and it's not long enough. Only being fussy due to the i ...

    The Hotpoint Mac 130 is the second unit we have bought, thie first was a Blueway. The Hotpoint unit is by far the better model and cooled our fairly large family room down in 40 degree heat very efficiently

    Initially I thought the Hotpoint Mac 130 was a fantastic portable airconditioner -- until I found the plastic window panel for the exhaust had completely warped out of shape after just 48 hours of having purchased this aircon.

    I took the unit back to the store -- they recommended we exchange the entire unit rather than just the window panel, incase the unit was faulty & running too hot.

    24 hours (overnight) after getting the new unit, the window panel had warped completely out of shape. I ...
