Bloc Party, Helicopter - I cannot say enough about this single. Although I love my music, I rarely get this excited about a song, but from the opening guitar riff iI was completely hooked. The song is reminiscent of The Jam's 'Set This House Ablaze' making it a must for any 30 somethings who think today's music lacks the rawness and directness of yesteryear's bands. (read more)

Bloc Party, Helicopter is just a fantastic song that really made me take note; I had heard other things by Bloc Party but never really took notice. I'm not a first listen kind of guy so it is rare that a song will hit me like this one did. I will now explore the other singles because this one is just ace. It's usually a really decent single that gets a band going, e.g. The Coral - Dreaming of You, The Libertines - Up The Bracket, Hot Hot Heat - Bandages and The Killers - Mr Brightside. These...
