My wife and I recently purchased the AER Alpha 40 amp from American Musical Supply for our 17-year old daughter to complement her new Maton 808 "Michael Fix" custom. What a pair, that was until day 52 after our purchase, seven days after the American Musical Supply warranty ended. In the middle of a solo performance the little gem heated-up and shut down permanently. Sure AER Warrants it for 2 years, but it will need to be shipped across state lines to a repair center in Maryland… Read Full Review

Few reviewers have made very helpful comment on the amp's features. AER Alpha amps are expensive so saying stuff like "fantastic sound" does not help -an expensive amp SHOULD sound good .. Thanks to the reviewer who compared this amp to other makes, and made fair criticism. I like the size, weight, build and sound of this amp AER seems to be the best at this price in the portable acoustic amp department.
For those on a tighter budget I'd definitely recommend trying their guitar thru some small… Read Full Review

It's difficult to write a review on an item that can only be praised, (& thank the Lord! - it's about time that we had a piece of Musical Equipment which is EXCELLENT).
After the Purchase Price, & the size of this yoke, the next thing that hits you is the SOUND... how these AER people have managed to put such a BIG SOUND into such a small box is mystifying...and such a FINE QUALITY big sound too...
Don't believe me, go and hear for yourself.
You won't be disappointed.

Just bought this AER Alpha 40 Watt Acoustic Combo amp on the internet from a store in England and I am totally amazed at the standard of construction of this bit of kit and the sound is fantastic too. I use it with a Gibson Sheryl Crow signiture model
(like a Hummingbird), and I ain't no Eric Clapton but it makes me sound good. Can't think of anything bad to say about this amp, typical German top quality electronic, okay it's a bit pricey but It's worth the money for the sound quality… Read Full Review

For the accoustic singer songwriter playing in small venues this is the best amp available on the market today. Before I bought i tried crate - ashdown - marshall ( had an ac 50 for a while - good amp ) etc but no other accoustic amp in the price range gives such pure amplified sound. So although this is not the cheapest amp it is the best value for money if you are gigging on a regular basis, as with the excellent soft case it will last for years… Read Full Review

AER Alpha 40 Watt Acoustic Combo is the most neutral acoustic amplifier available - also good tone for hollow body electric amplification - easy to carry round and with the soft case will last in good condition for many years. Expensive but worth every penny… Read Full Review
