Leicester to Bournemouth coach suffered unbearable heat from the air vents while the driver sat there in denial maintaining the temperatures were pre-set. 2hrs later the supposedly pre-set temperature dropped to cool air and I suspect it was the drivers worry of social unrest. Had I not managed to open the top window there was no telling what the passengers would of done in such a unbearable environment.
As of yet customer relations have not acknowledged my complaint and I wonder if they ever will.

Travelled from Gloucester to Heathrow. Had the same driver before and he and all the staff at National Express are friendly, professional 04/12/08 1830 time.
Thank you to all the staff for looking after me. It will be great when you have direct service from Gatwick to Gloucester.

Using National Express has got to be one of the most stressful experiences of my life. This was simply meant to be an easy day return from Coventry to London Victoria that turned into the day from hell. To cut a very long story short the first coach we boarded at Coventry had a cracked windscreen so we were transferred to another coach, this then subsequently broke down at Newport Pagnell, the driver said this could have been due to having no fuel as the fuel gauge didnt work but he couldnt be ...

Extremely bad service when National Express Coach cannot try to contact you to advise on a cancelled or severely delayed service. Despite giving them a contact mobile number, we were left stranded in the early hours after waiting 3 hours for a coach which never turned up. What's worse is their total lack of respect in dealing with these complaints by not acknowledging the issues. How long does it take to sort these complaints out?

I have used National Express for a few years now and find that the earlier standards are slipping. At one stage the funfair tickets were starting from £1 now thats £8.
The train is £12.50 in advance and gets you there over 2 hours quicker.
Megabus has the fares about the same as National Express now but I find that National Express are more reliable even though they are a bit slower through the en-route pick-up points.
It is not advised to use the toilet on the coach as they ...

I traveled with the National Express for the first time when traveling from London to Manchester and admittedly i was not looking forward to the experience. However it was a very pleasant journey!
The was a toilet on board which I think was a bonus for the long 5hr journey, it was a nice day outside yet it wasn't uncomfortable or stuffy on the coach, and I was lucky enough to have two seats for myself up until Milton Keynes.
Also I booked the journey approx three weeks in advance and it cost m ...

I use the National Express Coach service to travel from London to Brighton. The coaches are always on time, and are good value for money I think. The cheap funfare tickets and student discounts are great. I would recommend going to the toilet before the journey begins though! The seats are generally comfortable however, and all in all it has always been a smooth journey.

I booked my tickets online using my National Express 2 (student) card, and was amazed that I could get a return ticket from Milton Keynes to Manchester for just £12!
Unfortunately I arrived at the terminal just as my coach was leaving, which I accept is my fault - but PLEASE NOTE: if it says on your ticket that the coach leaves at 10am, it WILL leave at 10am and won't wait for latecomers.
So I went into the ticket office and explained that I had just missed my coach, so the chirpy and po ...

I have used National Express Coaches for years on a lot of routes. Until MegaBus and the low coast airlines came, they were the cheapest way of inter city travel. They were and are very reliable and usually punctual, especially compared to train. The online booking system (eTicket) is very intuitive and very straightforward, and the discount card system is also one of the best. There is service from most local area into the major hubs, and if travelling with luggage it's the easiest way to get t ...

I would like to draw your attention to a recent unpleasant episode involving my wife's nieces and two National Express bus drivers, on the service from Wellington to Heathrow on 17th August at 9:55 in Wellington, Somerset.
My wife's nieces had purchased tickets prior to departure over the Internet; one typical Adult ticket and one ticket they thought was a student ticket (No. ETP32277). This student ticket was acquired with the Student Identity card from East American University they thought. ...

After six weeks of trying to get an intelligent response from the National Express Customer Relations department, I have reached absolute exasperation and have written to the Chief Executive of the group.
The message must be -
don't book over the web; don't trust their maps; don't expect anything worthwhile if things go wrong.
