I bought a Delongui kettle in May 2016. It packed up suddenly. This item has only lasted under a year and four months. I am disappointed.I expected better from Delongui considering my cheap kettle previously lasted for more than 10 years! This kettle cost £109! Only just realised the guarantee is only for 1 year. Neither House of Fraser where it was purchased nor Delongui is willing to help.

These look good but don't stand the test of time. If you get 2 years out of one you're doing well.

Previous kettle, cheap as chips, 7 years. DeLonghi, not cheap, 18 months. Not good enough.

HAVE HAD THREE OF THE METROPILIS KETTLES THEY ALL HAVE A DESIGN FAULT THE LIDS.WATCH YOU DONT SCOLD YOUR HANDS.THE SMALL SCREW BREAKS AWAY AND THE BLACK HANDLE BREAKS AWAY GIVING RISE TO GETTING SCALDED.THE ACTUAL KETTLE WORKED WELL BUT DELONGI KNOW THERE US A FAULT BUT WONT DO ANYTHING ABOUT THE PROBLEM.YOU CAN BUY NEW LIDS FOR APPROX 10-15 POUNDS.THEY LAST APPROX 3 MONTHS.ITS ABOUT TIME DELONGI RECALLED OR REDESIGNED THE LIDS. BUT THEY ARE NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE CUSTOMER.JUST MONEY.

realy nice kettle but when you boil water and pour it out for cup of tea you need to use a towel to cover you hand or you will end up with burnt hands from steam escaping from back of lid

Have brought two kettles now. The lid of the first one fell apart with the metal plate breaking after a couple of months. Had a replacement and guess what? The same thing happened again! Poor poor quality for a high price. We wanted a quality product but would have been better off with an Argos own brand. The toaster we brought to match has started to rust althougth it has never been in contact with water. Do not waste your money on Delongi!

The lid of my kettle is very stiff to the point that I am sure I am damaging my wrist trying to remove it. Fustrating. This is also dangerous.

Bought this kettle because it looked good but very disappointed with its performance. The top of the lid snapped off after a year and i burnt my hand as water spilled out of the top. I then bought a new lid which was very expensive (£15) but cheaper than a new kettle and after 4 months the top has snapped off again. We also have water leaking from the base and a white deposit around the spout. Will be replacing with a kenwood and wouldn't buy Delonghi again.

Terrible.
We bought the kettle and matching toaster as it looked good. Three years later... the toaster has survived, although none of lit knobs have lasted, but we are on the THIRD kettle. At over £50 a go I've had enough and gone for a Kenwood.
The first time the kettle broke it was 2 weeks over the year long guarantee. The second time it broke was withni the year, but I couldn't find the receipt. And now, 10 months in, the third one has broken. Rubbish.

Our experience has been similar - eerily so. We are now contemplating our fourth kettle purchase in the space of six years...but the toaster is still going fine (it no longer differentiates between toast 'colour', however. A '1' could mean bread will be burnt to a cinder and a '6' could mean it comes out as it went in!) We're going to bite the bullet and get a brand new Cuisinart set.

I would not recommend this kettle, the lid is quite stiff and the handle for pulling it off it quite small. The lid get very hot too. The handle of my kettle recently came off...luckily the kettle was not full of boiling water at the time. I have had my kettle for just over three years but i expected more for my money.

I had it replaced in the frist three months due to the plastic ring pull on the lid snapping off, since then it has snapped off the replaced one. They said that they would replaces the lid for #9.98 plus #4.99 postage I don't think the a new kettel is worth that price. My lid matches the knobs on the kitchen units plus a self tapping screw bloke lower hole in the lid.I have no touble removeing the lid now. The filter gose out of shape after time and replacements are not cheap

The DeLonghi KBM3011 is good value.
Looks good.

This DeLonghi KBM3011 kettle is very stylish, but I had mine for less than a year and it has gone rusty around the lid hole, the paint/covering is coming off where I have descaled the kettle (I do use a filter for the water and Oust kettle descaler, it just leaked through the metal spout) Handle (plastic has come off the lid (metal). I paid about £55.00 for this kettle and it has been a complete disappointment since I first had to descale it.

The DeLonghi KBM3011 kettle Onyx is just over a month old and the plastic on the lid has completely split. I have been back to Argos and they are out of stock, Delonghi Customer Services say they are awaiting a delivery on 30th of this month and this is not a reported problem. The kettle is very noisy - even louder than a Dyson hoover! The spout shows chalk marks very badly already and it is only a month old! Am tempted to get a complete refund on the kettle and toaster (toaster very good but want a matching set) and go for a different brand.

i have had my DeLonghi KBM3011 set for almost 2 year & have never had a problem with either the kettle or the toaster. in fact they still look as good and work as well as the day i bought them. being a family of 6 they get plenty of use on a daily basis.

I purchased it thinking it was one of the top of the range kettles because of the price, and even though it has a good look, it is so noisy, that we have given up drinking tea for the moment. The Delonghi KBM3011 kettle is awful. Have to go out and purchase a new one because of the noise.

DeLonghi KBM3011 - Having read other reviews, I seem to be lucky in that my kettle lasted nearly 4 years without breaking, however it is so loud when switched on, it was like a plane taking off! Leaks badly from base now - cheaper kettles I have purchased in the past have lasted a lot longer. My Delonghi toaster is still going strong, but I guess it does not get as much use as the kettle. Will not purchase another Delonghi kettle again.

Bought Kettle and toaster for my new kitchen. The kettle was from Argos, after 3 months it started leaking from the base/water guage level. Argos replaced it for us but now 5 months later it has done exactly the same thing but twice as bad...floods the base and my kitchen sides when boiling! Going to take it back to Argosand I will be asking for a refund!! Will not buy a Delonghi kettle again.

Yes mine is the same and its leaking now, not even 2 years old! You dont expect that for such a high priced product.
