Marbles is a greedy, grabbing, worthless bank. How dare they casually rip us off. Having completely messed up themselves and been saved by tax payers they then turn on their own customers.

I am glad to have found this site as I have been staggered by Marbles recently. Firstly they withdrew my available credit limit from aroun 6k to 800 pounds. On the basis that I hadn't used this available credit, although the reason for this was that I had paid off the card, but did want to continue to use it. I rang them but got nowhere.
Secondly my interest rate is now 34%!! Crikey that is ridiculous! Ii have now paid off the card in full transferring the balance. I cannot understand how now ...

Marbles card transferred from Beneficial in February. Did not activate it but asked for it to be changed to a signature card on 3rd March. They would contact me with response. Two months on I asked again with the same result - they would contact me. Shortly after I got a letter telling me that the interest rate would be increased to more than 38% and that I could cancel if I so wished. No mention of the request to change it to a signature card. Guess what I will be doing. For all the year ...

Marbles? Who makes up their policies?? Its about time the Government stepped in to tighten up credit card company tactics. They wrote to me to say they had increased my maximum amount limit....then 3 wqeeks later write to say the interest rate has been hiked to 30%. I hadn't activated the new card, so maybe this annoyed them!I'll be aiming to pay off my balance as soon as possible now, as no other lending I have comes anywhere near this shocking interest rate - I'd almost get better rates from ...

Just received letter from Marbles Credit Card informing me of new interest rate 19.95% (not as high as some reviews - however significantly higher than most others). As I only put a minimal amount on the card and paid in full, I will pay off in full and not use again in protest at this action when bank rate is so low.

I do not understand why the Government has not stepped in to curb the ever increasing rise in Marbles interest rates; especially as they are linked to the Bank of Scotland. There is no legislation which can prevent their actions as the government has long supported mismanagement of financial markets and their constant increase in interest is a good example.
It appears to me that Aviemore Funding Limited is out to make as much money from the customers they dragged into their system by taking ove ...

I had not activated my replacement Marbles Credit Card from Marbles because the interest rates were excessive. When I received a mail from them saying the rates were to increase even further, to almost 30%, I phoned to cancel. The operator was quick to deal with the request and asked if it was due to the latest rate increase. His manner indicated it wasn't the first call of the day. Get rid of this card if you can would be my advice. There are even store cards that offer better rates than th ...

Had my Beneficial Card account transferred to Marbles in Feb 09 - May 1st 09 get a letter from Marbles to say that they are increasing the interest rate from 22% to 31.95% rate - rang to tell them where they ccan stick their card. Always pay my card in full each month so it doesn't really effect me , but with base rates @ less than 1% why does Marbles need to hike the APR by nearly 50%.Don't do business with this company hit them where it hurts in the corporate pocket.

I've had no problems with Marbles until they changed to Aviemore. Since then I got charged £12 for being overdrawn even though I paid on time but the payment protection is taken out at a different time so took me over my limit, which they didn't tell me until I complained. Also my interest rates went from 11.9% for purchases to 22.9%, for cash withdrawalls from 14.9% to 29.9%. The way they use your payments to pay off the interest has also changed, they now pay off the lowest rate of inte ...

Interest rate on my Marbles Credit Card has gone thru the roof, I'm now paying more interest than my minimum monthly payment. How do I get out of it. Phoned them to ask why they just said 2.5% of balance, 2.465% per ? = 33% APR. Why are these people so much more than any other credit card company.

Marbles credit card has delivered dreadful cutomer service and experiences since it was sold. Nobody seems to care, i have transfered my business to Virgin money however a credit from a shop was posted back on my card after i paid it off. Nett result THEY owe me £139. Its been over a week and i have made many calls to people who either don't care or don't have the intelligence to be in a customer facing role and they still HAVE NOT credited my bank account for the £139 they owe me. ...

I went for a Marbles card when they first started. All was fine at the begining - nice simple online managment service - and getting cash back on the account was a real bonus. Then I had several occassions when my transaction was stopped due to suspicion of fraud (but it wasn't) and I had to ring their service centre to get the card going again. Then on 3 separate occassions they called me and told me to destroy my card as it had been frauded - a bit inconvenient with over a weeks wait each tim ...

For the last 15 years I have been a non resident in UK.
My Beneficial Bank Account of 20 years was tranferred without any warning to a Marbles Credit Card Account last February. I had a large positive balance in the Beneficial account which went along with the unwanted transfer into Marbles. When I tried to get web access to my Marbles Account I was told I could not have it as I had a US address. BTW: They sent me the new Marbles cards to my US Address which after phoning Marbles to ask what ...

The Marbles Credit Card feels to me like the most poorly administered card I have ever used. Despite telling them every time I go abroad, the card never seems to work and I find myself having to ring them again to get them to switch it on at great expense to myself. They recently sent me a new Mastercard to replace the old card which had not expired without appearing to ask me. When my direct debit failed due to the number changing, they appeared to charge me £12. I have paid it off in fu ...

I originally took out a platinum Mastercard branded as "Churchill," which was affiliated to the car insurance company of the same name, and issued by Beneficial Bank. At about 17% APR, the interest rate was reasonable, but not the best around. This was in 2002.Skip forward a few years and the affiliation with Churchill came to an end. Beneficial replaced the card with one of its own branding. Over the years their interest rate crept up a bit, but I never really got around to ditching them.Skip ...

I used to love this Marbles credit card, apart from the offshore call centres. Now that their interest rate has risen beyond belief,Interest rate on my account jumped from 15.9% to 27.9% when the business was sold to Aviemore Funding.

When I queried why the interest rate had doubled, when base rates have fallen to 2%, they said it was to do with economic factors and my personal situation. I was shocked, as I have never missed a payment on any credit agreement. Is the 30.9% a reflection on me, or is everyone else being charged the same rate? Comments please...
