I bought a well known brand DVD Video recorder from Dixons on-line September 2011 and it developed a fault 9 months later - June 2012. I emailed Dixons.co.uk and their KnowHow team responded by stating that I should deal with the manufacturer directly, as they (an electrical retail group?) can not repair this brand. Bought freezer rang on day of delivery after time had been confirmed that product damaged won't be one for weeks. Have never been upset enough to write a review before, but had a faulty Hotpoint tumble dryer delivered a month ago. Never worked. Engineer came, tried to blame me for heavy handed installation, after much argument found a fault with the motor (not possible to be caused by me). Gave me an 'uplift number' to arrange a reaplcement. My model was discontinued so chose another one, they were supposed to call me to arrange re-delivery. Advertised on line and aknowledged by staff in the Currys store (linked to Dixons by the way) a Canon Battery powered printer.. PIXMA Pro 950 for sale at just under £500 perfect for printing at shows without having to run a generator. Or so I thought! Discovered they had charged credit card for £714 over 6 years for insured maintenance of a long since redundant product .... We have a lot of activity on the card and hadn't spotted it because my wife thought it was something else no chance of refund I think they should at least send you an annual request for continuation (read more)

Received a security call about my order. The member of staff did not explain why she needed to know my date of birth and other details. Regrettably, I ordered a TOSHIBA - SDP95 Portable DVD player from Dixons on line – after just a couple of months it went wrong – that was almost a month ago. I still have not got them to accept responsibility, and they will not replace it. Toshiba were helpful but do not have it in stock, and put me back to Dixons. We ordered 2 refurbished TVs from Dixons expecting that they were being sold as 'in good working order', just not in original packaging. Over the last year I have ordered several desktop and laptops from Dixons for customers. Of the several orders I have placed and paid for a timed delivery slot. The delivery has NEVER turned up on the day paid for. Several occasions I have had an email 3-5 days later saying they now could not NOW fill my order due to no stock AFTER they had charged my credit card. Just took delivery of two supposedly refurbished and tested TV's. Neither work. One doesn't even power up, one remote controller doesn't work and one does not respond to a remote. Ordered a Panasonic DVD/Video recorder and paid a premium for delivery on following Friday as told by Knowhow that such deliveries are made by DPD and not the dreaded 'Yodel'. Ordered a DCU8230 condenser dryer via Dixons online shop. Great price and goods were delivered exactly on date and time stated. Free delivery to Northern Scotland as well which is good as a lot of companies advertise free delivery to UK mainland but the minute you enter the KW postcode the delivery charges go on. Warning - Dixons seem to have a policy against replacing broken equipment. Our washing machine has had problem after problem. They refuse to replace it, every time it goes wrong they insist we have an engineer come out. I think it's a con to make you buy their extended warranties. If you don't buy the warranty they won't replace anything. The law says they have to replace it if it can't be fixed, but they just say 'see you in court' because they know it's too much trouble. I tried twice to order an HP Touchsmart 600-1210uk online and both times it turned out that they had no stock, despite the fact that on the second occassion I had phoned and been told there where 20 units in stock! I bought a dishwasher which has broken down within 5 weeks of use. I have called Bosch and they can't send an engineer out for a week. They said to call Dixons. When you call them and answer all of their automatic questions you get put back through to Bosch. I called again and ignored all the questions so that I was put through to someone human. This was my third purchase of a large kitchen appliance over the last 14 months. On all times the prices of the products was very competitive and delivery was on time at each case. And they took away the old appliance for no extra cost - unlike a number of their competitors. Based on my experience I would recommend. What a joke. Arranged a delivery date as I got fed up with waiting for them to contact me, took day off work, paid for gas to be disconnected. No delivery. Phoned, and charged a tidy sum for doing so, and they told me they had no record of ever speaking to me and were planning to deliver the next day...strange that they had not been in touch to arrange delivery tomorrow. Ordered a washing machine to be delivered between 7-11am after phoning at 12.30 the van turned up at 2 only for the drivers to realise that they had delivered my machine to someone else. 30mins later they were back with a damaged machine where I must assume they did not protect it the van as it was unwrapped at the previous house and the paperwork wet where the machine had been plumbed in at the last house. I ordered a Refurbished DIGITREX 22" TV /DVD. I already had one that I had bought at Tescos and had been pleased with it. I came home one day and found it left in the porch. Ordered for one on 9-may-2011, it's still on warehouse for 2-3 days without getting dispatched despite its released. misleading emails or responses from customer care so far, Not sure whether i will receive tracking number after a few days wait or Order cancellation message.

Completely misleading delivery estimates! I placed an order with Dixons.co.uk and their website states that delivery is normally 3 working days. It is now 4 working days since I placed my order and the item has not even left the warehouse yet! I was notified on the 8th that as the item was out of stock the order would be cancelled and refunded.

First-time user of Dixons online. Delivery of the oven was possible within 3 days. Received text and email confirmation, and a phone call the day before delivery to inform me of the timeslot allocated - in my case 9am - 1pm. The item was delivered on time (about 10.30am) and was quite impressed with the service. The delivery boy did struggle somewhat with the weight of the item. Would recommend Dixons and use again assuming the price is comparable with competitors. (read more)

Dixons were find at getting the product to me, but thats where it ends.
Product failed and phoned them to be told would ring me back.
Called as promised to be told call past to wrong dept and would I mind ringing them up again and repeating the process, to which I added, you know whats happend, could you get the correct dept to ring me? He said I suppose I can.
No call came so half a week later I have to go through their system, takes some time, but they pass me onto the manufacuturers...

We've had no end of problems with Dixons delivering our washing machine. They completely refuse to deal with complaints and are just downright rude. Avoid them at all costs, it's worth paying extra to buy from somewhere reliable.
