This is a cheap and cheerful smoothie maker, it must be, we were given two as wedding gifts! This is not a very sturdy model, the tap bit is a wee bit wobbly after some use but on the whole after coming up 3 years, its still hanging on in there.
It comes with a little booklet to get you started but the fun thing with smoothies is not so much sticking to recipies it is much more about finding out your own flavour and taste combinations.
This smoothie machine does its job, don't overfill it...

Had this given as a wedding present in 2005. Wonderful at first but then the tap broke off and Kenwood didn't have stock to replace.
Then it started leaking out of the bottom of the jug, I guess this may be because I put the parts in the dishwasher so that could be my fault. Even so I don't recall the instructions clearly stating this so I guess anyone would do the same.
Basically I have a Smoothie Concert with no tap and a leaky bottom.
So no I wouldn't recommend this particular model.

I decided that buying a smoothie maker was going to be a good option to match the new house, and the Kenwood Concert one was a seemingly good option, and a healthy one too. No more excuses of eating 5 bags of Wine Gums each day and claiming these are my 5 portions of fruit...
I was a bit surprised at how loud the smoothie maker can be. It may depend on what fruit you're mixing, but it's louder than my powerdrill! Either way though, this is a sensible investment to get your portions of fruit...

My advise when purchasing a good blender is to check what component they use at the bottom as many use rubber which wears away in time and this is the issue I have with mine after about 6 months. The motor works fine but doesn't work anymore as the rubber grooves have worn away which makes it useless. Admittedly I used ice in mine but why shouldn't I. I want a nice cold smoothie! I have used this for over 7 months regularly but found it very noisy, the fruit can block the tap. I have had to... (read more)

Kenwood Concert Smoothie Maker is easy to use and most importantly easy to clean. I have had mine for over 5 years and no major problems. Really good product I am on my second one. The pouring nozzle has broke, but if you call Kenwood they are generally happy to send you a replacement. (read more)

Overall this Kenwood Concert Smoothie Maker SB256 makes smooth, tasty drinks in just a few minutes. I find it to be noisy during the blending process, especially if ice is added. The stirrer allows you to fully mix all the ingredients and the appliance comes with an easy to follow recipe guide. At only £23.00 I feel that it represents good value for money. (read more)
